A mechanical screech pierced the air.

Something dropped from the sky. It landed heavily, its metal feet cracking the bedrock.

It was a duck.

Carue wore a full-body suit of armor. The metal plates gleamed red and gold. A triangular arc reactor glowed brightly in the center of his feathered chest. The duck's eyes were covered by a tactical HUD visor.

"Quack," Carue stated. The voice synthesizer translated the sound into a deep, robotic baritone.

Carue stepped forward. He reached down with his metal-plated wings. He hoisted Law onto his back.

A CP0 agent—the one who ate the Glass-Glass Fruit—raised his hand. He formed a jagged spear of compressed glass. He threw it at the duck.

Carue didn't look. He lifted his right wing. A repulsor node in his primary feather flared.

ZAAAP.

A beam of concentrated plasma shot from the wing. It struck the glass spear, vaporizing it instantly. Carue bent his knees. The thrusters built into his metal webbed feet ignited. He shot into the sky, carrying the surgeon away from the battlefield.

Usopp and Vivi stood alone in the clearing.

Three CP0 agents surrounded them. The elite assassins wore white suits and featureless masks.

The Mantis Zoan clicked his scythes. The Friction Paramecia dragged his boots across the dirt. The Glass Paramecia reformed his hands into sharp, translucent blades.

"Target the sniper first," the Mantis agent ordered. "He is ranged."

The three agents moved simultaneously. They used Soru. They crossed the distance in a microsecond.

Usopp tapped the side of his goggles.

The Visor hummed to life. Red targeting reticles locked onto the three approaching blurs. The visor calculated their speed, trajectory, and impact time.

Usopp's shoulder blades shifted. Two large, brown-feathered wings erupted from his back. He flapped them once and launched himself fifty feet into the air.

The CP0 agents arrived at the spot Usopp just vacated.

"I have him," the Friction agent said. He touched the soles of his shoes. He removed the friction from his own body. He kicked the ground, shooting up the trunk of a massive tree like a rocket. He launched himself off a high branch, hurtling directly at Usopp in the sky.

Below them, the Mantis agent turned his attention to Vivi.

He lunged. He swung his right scythe, aiming to decapitate her.

Vivi didn't move her feet. She raised her left arm.

Blue and gold flames erupted from her skin. The flames did not burn her clothes. They took the shape of a massive bird wing. The Simurgh's power manifested.

The scythe struck the wing of fire.

Sparks flew. The scythe could not cut the flame. The impact pushed Vivi back an inch.

Vivi reached over her shoulder. She gripped the hilt of the weapon strapped to her back. She pulled it free.

A six-foot spear gleamed in the sunlight.

The Mantis agent swung his left scythe.

Vivi spun the spear. She caught the scythe on the Vibranium shaft.

The kinetic energy of the blow did not travel into Vivi's arms. The metal absorbed it. The silver spear pulsed with a dim purple light.

Vivi pushed back. She thrust the butt of the spear into the Mantis agent's chest.

She pulled the trigger on the shaft.

The stored kinetic energy released instantly. A concussive blast erupted from the spear. The shockwave threw the Mantis agent backward. He crashed through a tree and tumbled across the dirt.

Vivi spun the spear and settled into a combat stance.

In the sky, the Friction agent reached Usopp. He thrust his finger forward. "Shigan!"

Usopp relaxed his muscles. He used Kamie. His body went limp, swaying like a sheet of paper. The Shigan strike pierced the empty air next to his ribs.

Usopp raised his right hand. A rectangular block of black nano-metal rested on his forearm. He flexed his wrist.

The nano-metal flowed. It rippled like water. In a fraction of a second, the metal reshaped itself. It locked into place, forming a high-tech compound bow.

Usopp pulled the laser-string back. A solid light arrow materialized.

He aimed point-blank at the Friction agent. He let go.

The energy arrow struck the agent in the chest. It exploded.

The Friction agent flew backward. He twisted in the air, landing on his feet. He touched his boots again, turning himself into a frictionless projectile. He slid backward across the jungle floor, bleeding but conscious.

Usopp hovered in the air. He flapped his Falcon wings.

Suddenly, a barrage of sharp glass daggers shot upward. The Glass agent stood below, firing projectiles from his palms.

Usopp dove. He folded his wings. He plummeted toward the ground, dodging the glass daggers. He flexed his wrist again.

The nano-metal bow shifted. The limbs retracted. The grip changed. It transformed into dual automatic pistols.

Usopp pointed the pistols down. He pulled the triggers.

Red energy blasts rained from the sky.

The Glass agent raised his hands. He generated a thick dome of reinforced glass over his head. The energy blasts struck the dome, scorching the surface but failing to penetrate.

Usopp spread his wings at the last second, pulling out of the dive. He glided over the glass dome.

The Mantis agent recovered. He kicked the ground. Geppo. He jumped into the air, intercepting Usopp's glide path. He swung both scythes in a cross-slash.

"Rankyaku: X!"

Two compressed air blades shot from the scythes.

Usopp tapped his belt again. He channeled the Chameleon powers.

His skin, his clothes, and his wings shifted color. He bent the light around his body. He turned completely invisible.

The air blades missed. They cut the clouds.

The Mantis agent stopped mid-air. He looked around. "Where did he go?"

A hand grabbed the Mantis agent's ankle.

Usopp had dropped beneath him.

Usopp pulled. He threw the Mantis agent straight down.

The agent crashed into the dirt.

Usopp reappeared. He landed on a high branch. He flexed his wrist. The dual pistols merged. The barrel lengthened. A scope formed. It became a heavy sniper rifle.

Usopp looked through the scope. The Falcon Visor linked with the crosshairs. He targeted the Friction agent, who was sliding rapidly across the ground to flank Vivi.

Usopp loaded a capsule into the chamber. He pulled the trigger.

The capsule shot across the clearing. It struck the ground directly in front of the sliding Friction agent.

The capsule shattered. A massive blob of hyper-adhesive Stark-tech putty expanded instantly.

The Friction agent slid right into it. The zero-friction aura failed against the chemical adhesive. The putty hardened in seconds, trapping the agent up to his waist.

"What is this?!" the Friction agent yelled, struggling to move his legs.

Vivi didn't hesitate. She saw the opening.

She kicked the ground.

Soru.

She vanished and reappeared directly in front of the trapped agent. She swung her Vibranium spear horizontally.

The Glass agent intervened. He materialized out of the reflections in the jungle canopy. He stepped between Vivi and the Friction agent. He formed a thick glass shield on his forearm.

The spear struck the glass shield.

The glass shattered. The spear continued its arc, striking the Glass agent in the ribs.

The purple light on the spear flared. Vivi absorbed the impact. She didn't release the kinetic blast. She stored it.

The Mantis agent attacked her from behind. He swung his scythe at her neck.

Vivi ducked. The scythe missed. She spun around, sweeping the Mantis agent's legs with the shaft of her spear.

The Mantis agent jumped over the sweep. He landed and unleashed a flurry of rapid-fire strikes.

Clang. Clang. Clang.

Vivi blocked every strike. She moved with fluid grace. Her Simurgh flames flared around her shoulders, healing the minor cuts the air pressure caused. Every time the scythe hit her spear, the Vibranium absorbed the energy. The purple glow grew brighter. It hummed with contained power.

"You cannot hold out forever, red witch" the Mantis agent hissed.

"I don't need to," Vivi replied.

She parried a heavy downward strike. The Vibranium spear glowed blindingly bright. It had reached maximum kinetic capacity.

Vivi pointed the tip of the spear directly at the Mantis agent's chest.

A massive, continuous beam of concentrated kinetic energy fired from the spear point. It looked like a purple laser.

She looked at the Friction agent suspended in the air.

She threw the spear.

Vivi laughed.

They turned toward the center of the island. Black lightning still painted the sky in the distance. The ground continued to rumble from Luffy's battle.

"Come on," Vivi said, her expression turning serious. "Luffy might still need us."

They ran into the jungle, leaving the defeated agents behind.
