"I need to leave now," the time overseer turned around, "See you, human."

"You’re leaving?" Leon raised his eyebrows in surprise.

"Don’t worry," he swung his scepter, and a portal appeared beside Leon, "You’ll be able to leave once you’re done with everything."

For some reason, Leon felt like the time overseer was extremely tense at that moment, as if something horrible was going on that he wasn’t telling him about.

"Well, goodbye then," Leon grinned, "I’ll head to the [Eternal Domain] and kick the [Goddess of Void]’s ass, as well as the other gods."

The time overseer’s figure twitched noticeably as he heard that statement, then he slowly turned his head toward Leon before letting out a heavy sigh.

"You stand absolutely no chance against the gods, Celestial, not with your current power, but I admire your bravery nonetheless."

Fwoosh!

Just like that, the overseer opened a fracture in reality and entered it before it closed completely behind him.

This left Leon completely alone in the [Time Chamber] with only the egg and his thoughts.

And while he had the time to kill, Leon pulled up the [Time Affinity Skill Book] from his inventory and poured his mana into it without any hesitation.

Fwoosh!

The book turned into glowing particles that flooded into Leon’s body, fueling him with raw temporal power and knowledge.

"Bingo," Leon laughed out loud, actually shocked at what he had gotten out of nowhere, "I actually got it!"

That was the exact same ability that the [Time Overseer] had been using against him the entire time.

Meaning that if Leon managed to master it and use it properly, he could truly become even more terrifying than before.

Without wasting any time, Leon opened the new skill’s panel to see what he had just acquired.

[Time Stop (Forbidden Spell): Use the power of your supreme affinity to stop time for a single second or less, your movements are limited when time is stopped and you cannot attack directly, if used too much, you may exhaust yourself.]

"Hm," Leon said thoughtfully, taking the time to observe the description carefully and comprehend everything about his new forbidden spell.

Even the [Time Overseer] eventually gets exhausted from using his time powers even though his time affinity is SSS-Level or even beyond that according to what Leon had observed during their battle.

This meant that for someone completely untrained like Leon, using this ability would be even more difficult and draining on his reserves.

The description also made Leon understand why the [Time Overseer] swung or used a spell, but only once time came back did it actually hit its target.

He was literally not allowed to attack someone directly while time was stopped for some strange reason related to the rules of time manipulation.

Regardless of that limitation, this was still a perfect ability to dodge impossible attacks that he couldn’t avoid any other way.

Leon actually wanted to try it here in the time chamber, so he closed his eyes and concentrated on the feeling of time around him.

But unfortunately, something blocked his attempt.

Seems like he couldn’t actually activate the skill now, so Leon simply decided to wait patiently for the egg to hatch.

He spent the following hour using his [Shadow Bullets] to try and summon more of them at once, practicing his control over the ability.

He managed to increase the amount he could use significantly, though he didn’t quite reach the level of the forsaken king who could summon thousands effortlessly.

Eventually, the amount of time left for the egg to hatch went down to less than a full year.

After 4,228 seconds which removed the entire 4,228 years from the hatching time, only the days remained, which were 293 in total.

But that also meant that the [Time Overseer] had actually thought about everything carefully, because now every second outside the cube was equal to 1 day inside the cube.

Leon watched as the hatching time went down in real time right before his eyes.

Then after a few seconds passed, the number dropped even further.

[Hatching Time: 284 days.]

Each second that passed removed a full day from the countdown, and a little under five minutes continued like that until the number reached single digits.

[Hatching Time: 1 day.]

And finally, the moment Leon had been waiting for arrived.

As soon as the hatching time reached 0, the time cube disappeared completely, allowing Leon to rush toward the egg without any barrier in his way.

The egg now emitted the most powerful aura it had ever emitted before, and it was noticeably shaking violently, cracks spreading all over its surface like a web.

Leon kept watching with intense anticipation as the egg he spent so long holding and protecting was finally going to hatch right before his eyes.

After seeing the 4,000 years hatching time initially, he didn’t believe there would be any way to actually get it to hatch in his lifetime.

But as always in [Eternal Ascension], every single problem no matter what it was had a solution if you looked hard enough for it.

And after around three minutes of the egg moving and cracking, there were enough fissures for bright light to seep out of the egg and illuminate the entire time chamber.

Once the light reached its apotheosis, the top of the egg fully cracked open, revealing what was inside for the first time.

Ding!

Leon peeked from above, and inside of the egg was a small creature that resembled a dragon, though a very small and adorable one.

It slowly came out of the egg fragments then looked up at Leon with its big, curious eyes that seemed to hold galaxies within them.

"Kaaa~?" it made a small, questioning sound.

"...Wow," Leon’s eyes sparkled with genuine wonder as he crouched down at the small baby dragon before him, "You’re surprisingly cute, I wasn’t expecting that."

The [Primordial Dragon of Chaos] in its baby form due to the fact it had just hatched was around the size of a medium dog, enough to hold in his arms though it might be heavy.

Its body was a beautiful mixture of colors, with dark and crimson fur covering its scales, white fangs and teeth that gleamed, and two multicolor horns that glowed fiercely with elemental energy.

It had two small wings on its back, one of them being completely dark like the void and the other crimson like its fur, a perfect representation of its chaotic nature.

Its iris was of a brilliant golden color, and Leon could see his own reflection perfectly in the baby dragon’s eyes.

Ding!

[What do you wish to call your new pet?]

"Huh..." Leon looked at the dragon, petting its head gently, "How about Draco?"

Hearing that suggestion, the baby dragon shook its head vigorously and showed its small teeth, "Kraaa!"

It seemed like it didn’t like that name at all, so Leon got to thinking about other options.

He gave several ideas over the next few minutes, but the baby dragon didn’t like any of them, its tail swinging back and forth in clear disapproval.

Until Leon finally had a different idea.

"How about Alphox?"

And finally, for the very first time, the small dragon let out a small cute sound of approval and nodded its head enthusiastically before jumping toward Leon’s chest and nuzzling against him.

Ding!

[Alphox has accepted its new name, you are now officially master and pet.]

With that done, Leon could finally open Alphox’s pet panel and see what his new companion was capable of.

"Nice," Leon said with satisfaction, genuinely happy with what he was seeing.

Alphox only had one skill at the moment, but that was expected from a pet that had just hatched and had no combat experience yet.

Leon would need to train with him extensively and unlock more abilities in the future, and also level him up so that he could go through his evolutions and reach his true potential.

What was incredibly surprising to Leon was the loyalty stat though, because it was already maxed out at 100 percent.

Even a pet like Pyra, the queen of phoenixes, didn’t have a 100 percent loyalty when she was first hatched by Celeste, who was also from the phoenix race herself.

At first Pyra didn’t even come out of her pet space unless she absolutely wanted to, showing some reluctance.

But now, Alphox’s loyalty was already maxed out from the very beginning, which was incredibly rare to see in any pet.

In fact, Leon had never seen a pet that appeared with such a high loyalty from the very start of its existence.

Of course, this also meant that Leon needed to be extremely careful because any drop of loyalty from Alphox would be negative for their relationship.

The more loyal a pet was, the more it listened to commands and the stronger it could become over time.

If Leon wanted Alphox to help him fight his enemies and the gods themselves, he needed his loyalty to stay at 100 percent forever.
