Chapter 366: The Imperial Arena [2], Fight With The Imperial Queen
And right on cue, there was a sudden sound coming from above, a powerful rush of wind, and many looked at the sky to see a giant figure descending from the clouds.
It was Violet, but she wasn’t in her humanoid form, which was the only one Leon knew, instead, it was a massive dragon with scales that shimmered in the moonlight.
Many panicked at the sight, thinking it was an attack, but Leon understood immediately it was her based on the familiar aura.
Also mainly because the ID [RainbowDragon] on Leon’s world map was literally straight above the arena, confirming his suspicion.
’But of course, she’s from [Ember], it would be stupid to assume she couldn’t transform into her true form,’ Leon almost wanted to hit his own head for not realizing it sooner.
Dragon and wyvern-raced players had the ability to transform into their real forms, AKA the big ones that most people associated with dragons.
They didn’t actually gain any sort of advantage while being in their dragon form except a slight boost in strength and agility and intimidation factor.
Though of course, some dragons had abilities that they could only use in their dragon form, and those were insanely powerful abilities that could turn the tide of a battle.
Violet’s dragon form was almost completely white with streaks of dark running across her scales, except for her multicolor wings and eyes, which glowed deeply with inner light.
She dove downward, scaring many in the crowd, but right as she was about to hit the arena’s floor, there was a faint light as she transformed back into her humanoid form, landing on the ground on the other side of the arena with practiced grace.
But at the sight of both powerful women in the arena, many understood what was happening, the [Imperial Queen] was about to fight the [Dragon Empress] in an epic showdown.
’Damn, can Violet even win?’ Leon thought with a blank expression, ’Though I’m more surprised the queen doesn’t actually seem that bad based on her aura...’
Leon wouldn’t jump to any conclusions early though, because appearances could be deceiving.
Because if this Iris showed any signs she was, or would link, to the gods in the future... then he would get rid of her without hesitation.
"As for the rules," the announcer spoke as a massive panel appeared before everyone in the arena, "This won’t be a normal fight due to the queen’s presence and the special occasion."
On the panel, two figures appeared, representing the two teams.
"Usually, the arena only holds 1v1s since it allows for more focused fights, but this time around, both fighters requested someone’s assistance for their battles."
Fwoosh!
In an instant, a massive guard, the chief of the entire [Imperial Army], landed on the ground beside the queen with a heavy thud that shook the arena floor.
He was a mass of muscles, over 3 meters tall, and his lizard features were more pronounced than any other guard Leon had seen, his scales thick and his claws sharp.
"This will be my fighter for the battle," Iris spoke gently, her voice carrying across the arena, "Where is yours, my dear Violet~"
"Grrr..." the guard groaned, his fingers twitching with barely contained aggression, as if ready to smash Violet’s body apart at a moment’s notice.
"Calm down, Zarek," the queen said calmly, her voice soothing, "You’ll fight soon enough, patience."
"...Grrr," he growled but obeyed, stepping back slightly.
Leon was quite surprised to hear the conditions of the fight, a 2v2 fight did sound more interesting than a simple 1v1, but he wondered which sucker would have to fight the imperial queen and her strongest guard alongside Violet.
Or at least that is what he thought until he saw Violet’s gaze land on him from across the arena, and her waving at him with a mischievous smile.
"Wow, I’m that sucker," Leon said, realizing what was about to happen.
Fwoosh!
Violet summoned her majestic wings, and with a single powerful flap, she arrived in front of the window of Leon’s chamber in an instant.
She knocked on it, a wide smile on her face, then breathed into the window and wrote: "I need you to help, you’re the only person I know :(!"
"Damn it..." Leon sighed, not at Violet, but due to the fact he was actually kind of excited to fight someone powerful for once.
His chances of winning were low against these two level 100 NPCs who were clearly among the strongest in the domain, but even then, he still wanted to try and test his limits.
If he could even manage to come close to the queen’s strength, then it meant he was on the right path to get rid of his enemies.
SMASH!
He shattered the glass of his chamber with a single punch, hoping nothing bad would happen from destroying property, then jumped into the arena below.
Fwoosh!
Of course, Violet caught him in midair and drove him down safely as the floor was pretty low compared to where he had been standing.
And like that, the two of them stood face to face to Iris and Zarek, the four combatants ready to begin.
"Lady Iris and the imperial army’s chief, Zarek," the announcer excitedly said, "Against the Dragon Empress and... Celestial?!"
The announcer herself was kind of shocked as she said the name, and all players in the arena gasped as well, whispers spreading through the crowd like wildfire.
"Hah, your reputation might be even better than mine," Violet laughed, "Incredible!"
The announcer’s holograph in the middle of the arena disappeared, instead appearing in giant form above the arena, and just like that, the match was officially underway.
"May the best fighters win," she shouted, "START!"
The fight started just like that, and Zarek didn’t wait a single second as he dashed forward, closing the distance between him and Leon with terrifying speed for his massive size.
’I guess he wants the queen and Violet to fight while he keeps me busy,’ Leon thought with a smile, ’Too bad for him.’
Leon took his stance, ready to attack as well, his grip tightening on his sword and staff.
