Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 220: Meteor Arrow
The monster tried to eat Terry, so he decided to eat the monster instead. As Terry caught his breath, he couldn’t help but reflect on the strange and seemingly insatiable appetite of some overlords to consume him, as if they wanted to devour his unique trait. It led him to ponder the nature of traits and how they related to the overlord’s hunger for power.
He considered the possibility that traits, like his own, were akin to a source of power or nourishment for these powerful beings. Yet, he reasoned that traits might not be something they could consume directly. It was possible that traits were bound to a person’s essence and only became accessible upon their demise. Perhaps these overlords were driven by a primal urge to absorb raw power, rather than traits or specific skills. Just like his trait, but he could do that in a more direct way, but only when the enemies died.
As Terry continued to consume the dragon’s blood, a sensation unlike anything he had ever experienced before coursed through his body. He felt his internal temperature rising, his very essence absorbing the immense power of the overlord he had been facing. It was an exhilarating yet overwhelming sensation, akin to a blazing fire roaring within him.
But intertwined with the newfound strength came a deep, primal agony, as if something within him were fighting against the absorption of this power. It was a tumultuous clash, the pain and pleasure mingling in a chaotic dance within Terry’s very soul. He gritted his teeth, determination flashing in his eyes as he battled to harness and control the torrent of power coursing through him.
As the dragon thrashed and writhed in its agony, attempting to shake off Terry, the young warrior clung tightly to his spear. It was his lifeline in this perilous moment, the only thing keeping him tethered to the massive beast.
In a desperate bid to free itself from Terry’s grasp, the dragon lashed out with its claws. But Terry was swift and agile, leaping away from the deadly strike. To his advantage, this movement drove the spear deeper into the overlord’s skull.
With the dragon momentarily weakened and in excruciating pain, Terry seized the opportunity. He kicked against the air, propelling himself back towards the monster. With a fierce determination in his eyes, he reached out and once again secured his grip on the spear,
As Terry clung to the spear, feeling the excruciating pain inside him slowly giving way to something else, he noticed a profound change. It was as if a floodgate had been opened within him, releasing a surge of power he had never experienced before. His own mana, the life force that fueled his abilities, began to swell and intensify at an unprecedented rate.
Terry couldn’t help but be bewildered by this unexpected turn of events. He had consumed the essence of other monsters in the past, but nothing had ever affected him quite like this. Not even when he had defeated and cooked the fire dragon had he undergone such a dramatic transformation.
Terry could only imagine the reason for that was the fact that he never ate a monster or drank its blood while it was alive... but dragons could do that and obtain that power. Terry wondered if his trait made him similar to them or if everyone could do the same... but he was too busy to keep thinking about it.
As Terry marveled at the surge of power coursing through him, the silver dragon, in its agonizing frenzy, resorted to a desperate tactic. It began to shed its metallic scales, launching them like deadly projectiles toward Terry.
Quick on his feet, Terry leaped backward, transforming his weapon into a shield to intercept the incoming barrage. The scales struck his shield with a resounding clang, and Terry found himself being gradually pushed backward under the sheer force of the assault.
As Terry defended himself from the onslaught of scales, he noticed something remarkable happening to the silver dragon. The creature began to shimmer with an intense, blinding light. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Intrigued and cautious, Terry watched in awe as, within moments, fresh, gleaming scales emerged across the dragon’s colossal form. It was as if the creature was regenerating its protective armor right before his eyes, replenishing the scales he had shed. This unexpected development left Terry pondering his next move, knowing that the battle had taken another unforeseen turn.
"The scales didn’t cause much damage to the shield and I didn’t feel much impact... my leg is also regenerating faster," Terry thought. "It must be thanks to the power of the dragon."
The silver dragon, now armed with its rejuvenated scales, seemed to have become more cautious. It stayed at a distance from Terry, launching attacks from afar as it monitored the changes occurring within its own body. The creature was playing it safe, taking no chances, and seemingly wary of the unexpected alterations it was undergoing.
Terry, on the other hand, had to adapt to this new strategy. With his enhanced powers and newfound abilities, he knew he had to devise a plan to overcome the dragon’s cautious approach and bring the battle to a decisive conclusion.
Terry, surrounded by falling scales and raining draconic spears, hatched a daring plan. It was a wild idea, but it had the potential to catch the silver dragon off guard and give him the advantage he needed.
While the beast continued to maintain a safe distance, Terry harnessed his magical abilities to connect the scattered scales and spears with the fine dust particles suspended in the air.
Time seemed to lose its meaning as he meticulously wove his spell, all the while plummeting through the never-ending descent. Remarkably, the dragon remained oblivious, never suspecting that Terry was orchestrating something right behind its back.
Eventually, the silver dragon’s keen senses caught onto something unusual. The countless spears it had launched were vanishing right behind Terry, and the beast’s acute perception picked up on a gathering concentration of mana in that same area. It couldn’t ignore the mounting anomaly any longer.
As the silver dragon unleashed its mana cannon once more, Terry swiftly responded. He called his massive arrow-like structure, rapidly spinning it into place just in time. The torrent of mana fired by the dragon collided with Terry’s makeshift barrier, causing a cataclysmic explosion of energy.
The shockwaves rippled through the air, and the deafening roar of the clash echoed across the floating islands. Despite the intense pressure, Terry stood firm behind his makeshift defense, determined to outlast the monstrous beast.
As the battle raged on, the arrow began to deteriorate under the relentless assault of the dragon’s mana cannon. Lightning bolts of mana crackled through the air, illuminating the battlefield in a chaotic display of power. The arrow absorbed the brunt of the attack, but it was clear that it couldn’t hold out indefinitely. Terry knew that the battle had reached a critical moment , and he needed to act quickly.
As the mana cannon bore down on Terry, he concentrated his energy on the spinning giant arrow, directing it upwards with all his might. The arrow began to ascend, gradually reducing the area of potential destruction. However, the approaching mana cannon unleashed such a tremendous force that the air itself seemed to crack and burn, oxygen becoming a volatile fuel in the face of the impending blast.
With the giant arrow now aimed directly at the silver dragon, Terry increased its spin rate even further. The burning oxygen around him made each breath a struggle, but he persevered, focusing all his energy on this critical moment. The arrow was rapidly losing size, but Terry knew he needed to make it spin faster than ever before.
As he readied himself to nock the arrow and drew his bow, he channeled every ounce of his mana into it, creating a surge of power that would be unleashed with the arrow’s release. The time had come to unleash this desperate gamble against the silver dragon.
"If this doesn’t work, I might as well accept my death and my limitations as a human," Terry thought.
The climactic moment had arrived. Terry, in his desperate bid to survive, finally released the giant arrow, nocked on his magically-enhanced bow. The arrow touched the string with a delicate yet determined connection.
As he let loose his Meteor Arrow, the projectile, imbued with every ounce of his mana, burst forward with unparalleled speed. It blazed through the air like a comet, resisting the silver dragon’s relentless mana cannon attack. Terry watched with bated breath as the arrow streaked toward the monstrous overlord, moving faster than lightning, its fiery tail lighting up the dark sky.
As the Meteor Arrow streaked through the dark sky, it began to decrease in size, seemingly consumed by the tremendous pressure of the silver dragon’s mana cannon. The arrow dwindled until it was only half its original size, Terry’s mana and determination feeding its unstoppable force.
With a resounding impact, the arrow pierced the head of the silver dragon, forcing its massive maw to snap shut in an instinctive response to the excruciating pain. The collision was nothing short of cataclysmic. The abrupt cessation of the mana cannon, coupled with the indomitable force of the arrow, created a shockwave that shook the heavens themselves.
