Chapter 1162: Bad News Returns
"Those are two Divine Artifacts, no! He might have given that kid other Artifacts from his body together, do you know how much that costs us? We could have easily taken them together, now! Now it’s still time to catch up!" Nero privately ordered upon seeing Bai Ze standing still indifferently.
"Do you want to tarnish the teacher’s reputation?" Bai Ze stood with his hands behind his back, disregarding Nero’s arrogant attitude.
"Then you should have stopped him at the first moment you noticed the problem!"
"Then we won’t leave here!" Bai Ze said, reprimanding with a low roar: "Don’t be too greedy when doing things. We have already obtained what we wanted. Greed for things beyond that will only affect our subsequent plans. Do you think putting this shackle on the Dragon King ends things? If I stop him from passing on the clan’s Divine Artifact, he will now use the remaining source energy in his body to detonate the Artifact, perishing with us! Then his son and subordinates won’t be here, and he’ll have no worries left!"
"Heh heh heh, there are still characters in Blood Flood! At least not losing your mind to benefits, it seems you are the commander of this team, and he is merely your puppet." Bai Ze’s reprimand, along with the taunt from the seated, captured Dragon King Zhuo Geng, left Nero looking extremely ugly yet unable to find an outlet for his anger. At this moment, Bai Ze took a step back to mediate and spoke: "Dragon King, it’s unnecessary for you to disrupt our internal relations now. Instead, think carefully about your future fate."
"Do I have any other way out than death?" Zhuo Geng lifted his head, looking at Bai Ze with a bitter smile.
"Of course there is if you are willing to surrender and proactively sign a contract with us, we would still let you continue living with your consciousness, but I doubt you would accept my suggestion." Bai Ze shrugged, expressing his regret.
"Since you already guessed, then what’s the point of saying more? Since falling into your hands, I am prepared to die. I’m just curious why you haven’t left yet, are you still planning to use me as bait for something?" Zhuo Geng glanced around at the crowd, who showed no sign of retreating. An ominous feeling rose within him as he asked in confusion.
"We still have some things to do. Now we need to see what impact your good son will have after returning, and then decide our next step!"
The good son Bai Ze mentioned was currently leading the remaining troops frantically toward the Dragon Realm, until they flew out of Blood Flood’s Space Lock range. The few of them, no longer needing to hide, swiftly performed the Space Jumping Technique, dashing into the Dragon Realm.
As early as the most intense phase of the battle, the clan elder responsible for staying behind, Celt, the clan leader of the Red Dragon Race, had noticed an anomaly in the celestial signs from Half Moon Gorge’s direction. Initially, he thought Fafnir had put up a desperate fight, never realizing the Dragon King would be captured. As he hesitated whether to send reinforcements, the sound of crisis alarm dragon roars resonated over the Dragon Realm.
Under emergency, except for the Ancestral God, the two clan leaders, and highly respected elders, everyone else is prohibited from performing space techniques within the Dragon Realm, and even flight heights are restricted. But now, the patrolling Dragon Race issued alerts of the same race breaking these taboos entering the Dragon Realm, indicating urgency that left no room for adhering to these rules.
"Clan Leader, something has happened!" Amid Celt’s panic, a subordinate from the Red Dragon Race dashed over to report.
"What is it?" Celt hurriedly asked.
"The intruders were intercepted by the guards, it’s Young Clan Leader Salafam..."
Upon hearing this, Celt’s heart sank to the bottom. Salafam, whom he watched grow up, was usually stable, though overly sentimental, he was a junior in the clan Celt highly admired. For him to breach rules, the situation’s severity must exceed his expectations, forcing Celt to shout immediately: "Silence!"
After silencing his subordinate, he pulled him into a corner for a whispered conversation. Upon learning the general course of events, Celt’s mind went blank, his body weakened, nearly collapsing.
"Clan Leader, what should we do now?" Celt’s trusted subordinate asked anxiously, supporting him.
"Fafnir, this traitor has committed such a heinous act!" Steeling himself, Celt steadied his body, held his head, took a deep breath to calm his panic, and asked, "Who else knows about this?"
"Only those guards who intercepted Salafam know, Salafam hasn’t let the guards spread the news, instead sending someone to inform you first."
"Excellent! Salafam did well, quickly, convey this message to other clan leaders, remember to be swift but discreet, without causing panic within the clan!" Celt nodded in approval, then asked: "Where are Salafam and others now?"
"They should have returned to the Dragon King’s Bedroom, when I left, Salafam was already gathering the Divine Dragon Guard’s captains outside the palace on alert."
"Alright, let the clan leaders immediately go to His Majesty’s bedroom to discuss this matter, remember, keep it confidential until a final decision is made."
"Understood!"
When Celt, the Red Dragon Clan Leader, rushed to the Dragon King’s Bedroom, he found the place already in chaos. The Divine Dragon Guard captains assembled with their lieutenants, gathered outside the palace, confused about the situation, unable to enter without approval, pacing and discussing.
"Elder, you’re here!"
"Elder, what on earth happened?"
"Elder, why are we summoned by the Young Clan Leader, not His Majesty? This isn’t within clan protocols!"
The Divine Dragon Guards surrounded Celt upon his arrival, bombarding him with questions.
"Standby, standby! Don’t crowd here in chaos, what does it look like! Others will be here, Gerry, and Orff, listen up, surround the palace inside out, let not a fly in except clan leaders!"
"Uh, yes!" Called by name, the Divine Dragon Guard captains responsible for guarding the Dragon King’s Bedroom today replied immediately, with Orff hesitating before chasing after Celt entering the hall, asking in a hushed tone: "Elder, it’s inconvenient to disclose details of what’s happening now, which I shouldn’t inquire about. However, with such turmoil, Daoist Realm certainly received the news. Should members from Daoist Realm inquire, how should we answer? Allow them entry or not?"
