"Let go of me. I can’t eat otherwise," Chloe Reed said coolly.

Walker Grant glanced at her. "I can feed you."

"Hah..."

Chloe Reed scoffed. "Why don’t you just put me on a leash? That way, I won’t be able to go anywhere at all."

Walker Grant’s gaze darkened slightly. "Chloe, do you think I don’t want to?"

"Get lost!"

She forcefully yanked her hand away and turned to leave.

Walker Grant gazed at her slender, beautiful back. The red dress she wore was incredibly eye-catching, drawing attention wherever she went.

He followed her again, walking beside her to stake his claim.

"Mr. Grant."

Just then, however, an attendant approached and blocked his path. "Mr. Grant," he said, "the Grant family’s eldest daughter-in-law wishes to see you. She said she has something important to discuss."

His expression turned cold. "Where is she?"

The attendant said, "This way, Mr. Grant."

Sunny Reed was sitting in the lounge area.

A smile bloomed on her face when she saw him. "Walker, where’s my sister?"

Walker Grant replied flatly, "She’s amusing herself."

Sunny Reed sighed. "Chloe must have misunderstood again. Let’s explain everything to her properly after the banquet. We can’t have her being upset."

Walker Grant sat beside her and asked coolly, "Sister-in-law, what is it?"

Sunny Reed looked at him earnestly. "I’ve given it a lot of thought. If I could represent the Reed Group in a partnership with the Vance Group, it would be a way for me to repay Mom and Dad for raising me. Walker, can you help me with this?"

Her tone was gentle, and her reasoning was persuasive. "I already told them I don’t want the sapphire earrings, and I refused when Mom and Dad offered me shares in the company. I have no other requests. I just want to fulfill this one wish. Walker, you’ll help me, won’t you?"

Preston Vance was still on stage giving his speech, and all eyes were on him.

Walker Grant watched him as well, his voice lowering. "Reed Group is in media, and the Vance Group focuses on real estate. The sectors are different. A partnership isn’t feasible."

But Sunny Reed said, "But didn’t I just start a new company? It could be the perfect bridge. I’m sure the Vance Group is interested in entering the media sector. After all, we’re in the internet age, and influencer marketing is booming."

She kept her eyes on Walker Grant. "This is my only wish, and all I need is an introduction from you. Walker, that isn’t a difficult thing for you to do."

Walker Grant looked at her. "Any other requests? You might as well state them all at once."

Sunny Reed bit her lip. "That’s all."

"Fine."

...

Iris Yates finally found Chloe Reed after searching for a while. Pulling her aside, she whispered, "I was just asking around. Sunny Reed started her own media company, and she’s here looking for partners. That guy, Gordon King, has connections with famous directors and actors. Walker Grant is the one setting up the introductions for her."

Chloe Reed was astonished. "I can’t believe you found out so much."

’And here I was, still totally in the dark.’

Iris said, "Of course I was going to be thorough—this is about you! What is that bitch trying to pull? Starting her own company? Is she trying to get the Reed Group to invest? If she actually manages to accomplish something, does that mean Uncle and Aunt will really hand over management of the Reed Group to her in the future?"

Chloe Reed lowered her gaze, a painful tightness gripping her heart. Her voice was strained as she spoke. "Iris, my parents are helping her, and Walker Grant is helping her, too. What chance do I possibly have?"
