Chapter 217: Chapter 217: You Even Let Him Hug You

A warmth spread through Chloe Reed’s heart. She suddenly felt that Preston Vance was a truly good friend.

Of course, it was also possible he just didn’t want to owe her a favor, even though for her, it had been a simple, effortless task.

She smiled and shook her head. "It’s all in the past now. But thank you."

A flicker of regret crossed Preston Vance’s eyes. He replied, "You don’t need to thank me."

"Okay."

When they reached her apartment complex, Chloe Reed got out of the car. She waved goodbye, watching his car disappear into the distance before finally heading inside.

As she stepped out of the elevator, she saw a tall, imposing figure standing at her front door. He was shrouded in a cold, severe aura that sent a chill through the air.

Chloe Reed froze. She turned to leave, suddenly having no desire to go home.

’Why is he at my door again!’

’This is outrageous!’

"Where are you going, Chloe?"

Walker Grant strode over, grabbing the hand she was raising to call the elevator. He enveloped it in his palm as his other arm snaked around her waist.

His breath ghosted across her ear, sending a strange, tingling tremor through her.

Her back went rigid. "I’m the one who should be asking questions," she said, her voice cold. "Why do you keep showing up here?"

"You’re my wife. Where you are is where I should be." Walker Grant lowered his head and began to gently kiss her cheek.

"Did you have a good time eating with him?"

His voice was low, but it carried a dangerous undercurrent.

Chloe Reed’s eyelashes fluttered as she began to struggle. "Who I eat with is none of your business!"

But as if expecting her to struggle, Walker Grant pinned her against the wall. His tall frame loomed over her, his dark eyes narrowing.

"Chloe, I’ve told you before. Don’t get too close to him. He’s dangerous. Why won’t you listen to me?"

Chloe Reed was furious. "As far as I’m concerned, you’re the only one who’s dangerous!"

’Her sorrow, her heartache, all the suffering she’d endured—it was all because of him!’

’How dare he call someone else dangerous?!’

"You even let him hold you."

But Walker Grant acted as if he hadn’t heard her. He kept his arm around her as he guided her to the front door, forced her to open it, and then marched her straight into the bathroom.

He turned on the shower, and her clothes were instantly soaked through.

"Walker Grant, have you lost your mind?!"

Chloe Reed cried out, struggling with all her might.

RIP!

But he simply ripped her clothes.

As the water streamed over her body, he grabbed a nearby bottle of body wash and began rubbing it all over her.

In the struggle, red marks appeared on her skin.

Chloe Reed trembled uncontrollably. ’He’s really gone insane.’

As the body wash covered her, a rich fragrance filled the air. Walker Grant washed her with a disturbing, meticulous focus.

His own shirt and pants were soaked, clinging tightly to his frame. With every movement, the contours of his chest and abs were faintly visible.

Only after washing her twice did he stop. He drew close, burying his face in the crook of her neck, seemingly sniffing for any lingering scent of another man.

He closed his eyes, his voice having grown hoarse. "Chloe, I’m very unhappy. What am I to do?"

Chloe Reed shoved him. "Then go die. Everything will be better once you’re dead."

Walker Grant lifted his head to look at her. The fury in her eyes was so clear, yet when she was with other men, her face was full of smiles.

A raging fire tore through his chest, threatening to burn him up from the inside.

He grabbed the back of her head and crushed his lips against hers.

"Mmph!"

Chloe Reed beat at him, pinched him, and scratched him, but it was all useless.

With just one hand, he easily pinned both of hers behind her back. The position forced her body flush against his.
