Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 425: This Is Your True Purpose, Isn’t It?
Chloe Reed was in a groggy sleep when she felt someone pushing her.
She groggily opened her eyes to see a figure standing by her bed. The wall lamp was dim, making the man’s silhouette a little blurry, but she still recognized him as Walker Grant.
She furrowed her brow and asked in a low, unhappy voice, "What are you doing?!"
She reached for her phone and glanced at the time—three in the morning!
’Is he crazy?’
’Standing here in the middle of the night scaring people instead of sleeping?’
"My wounds hurt."
The man’s voice was low. He sat directly on the edge of her bed and said, "You can apply my medicine."
Chloe Reed sat up, running a hand through her hair. "I thought you said you didn’t need it?"
"Now I do."
Walker Grant handed her the medical kit and then took off his shirt. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Only then did Chloe Reed notice he was wearing a tank top.
He took off the black tank top. The white gauze was stained with blood, and he had the smell of blood on him.
Chloe Reed stared blankly for a second before asking, "Did you tear your wounds open yourself instead of sleeping?"
Walker Grant looked at her, his sharp eyes dark and deep, but he said nothing.
Chloe Reed pursed her lips, moved closer, and began to unwrap the blood-stained gauze from his torso.
Some of the shallower wounds had scabbed over and were healing well.
But some of the deeper wounds were still oozing blood, and a faint metallic scent permeated the air.
Chloe Reed began to clean away the blood, disinfect the wounds, and apply the medicine...
She didn’t say a word the entire time.
After re-wrapping his torso in clean gauze and taping it down, she moved to get off the bed from his side to go to the bathroom.
But the next second, he suddenly reached out and wrapped his arms around her.
Chloe Reed’s entire body went rigid. "Let go."
Walker Grant tightened his arms, burying his face in the crook of her neck. His breath fanned across her skin as he mumbled, "No."
Chloe Reed’s fingers pressed against his deepest wound. "If you don’t let go," she said, "this place is going to need stitches again."
"You’re so heartless."
Walker Grant mumbled, the grip of his arms loosening slightly.
Chloe’s pounding heart began to calm, but in the next second, he suddenly gripped the back of her head and kissed her.
Chloe Reed’s breathing grew ragged, and her fingers immediately pressed down hard.
But he didn’t even flinch!
He kissed her lips, tracing their soft curve and drinking in her sweetness like a man dying of thirst drinking poison. Even as excruciating pain flared from his wound, he still didn’t let her go.
His fiery breath filled her mouth, his tongue tangling with hers as his kisses deepened.
His kisses moved lower, brushing against her neck, her collarbone...
Chloe Reed’s breathing was in disarray. His dominant aura was overwhelming, making her limbs go weak and forcing tears from her eyes.
She was pushed down onto the bed, her fingers now too weak to continue pressing. His hot breath swept over her chest.
"Walker Grant!"
Chloe cried out his name in desperation, her hands pushing against him.
The man kissing her paused. His searing breath burned her skin, their ragged gasps tangling together.
"I’m not living here anymore."
Chloe Reed shoved him away, straightened her clothes, and walked towards the bathroom.
But Walker Grant took two steps forward and grabbed her hand. "You can’t leave my side. You’ll be in danger."
Chloe Reed stared straight ahead, her breathing gradually steadying. She suddenly asked, "This was your real goal all along, wasn’t it?"
’The previous deal meant nothing.’
’His real goal was just to get her to come back. And as for what would happen after she returned, who could say for sure?’
The grip on her arm suddenly tightened.
Walker Grant yanked her toward him, his sharp, dark eyes fixed on her.
