Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 435: His Condition
Walker Grant hmphed and said bluntly, "William Quinn called me many times today, asking me to help him find a girl. He said she slept with him and then ditched him, refusing to take any responsibility. He insisted I find her, and he made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. So, here I am."
With that, he looked at Iris Yates, a teasing look appearing on his handsome face. "William Quinn really likes you."
Iris Yates’s eyes widened slightly. "What the hell are you talking about? I don’t even know this person!"
She grabbed Chloe Reed’s hand. "Chloe, this damn scumbag is going to sell me out! What do I do? Is it too late to call the police?!"
Walker Grant looked at Chloe Reed with a leisurely air.
He had already guessed she came to find Iris today because Iris must have called and told her about her predicament.
Meanwhile, a complicated look crossed Chloe Reed’s face.
Walker Grant said, "You slept with a man last night. He’s tall, with blue eyes, and of mixed-race."
As she listened to him, Iris Yates’s eyes widened in disbelief.
"His name is William Quinn. He only just arrived in the country and, for certain reasons, can’t leave for the time being," Walker Grant added with a show of kindness. "He and I have some business. As it stands, I just need to hand you over to him, and I’ll get what I want. It’s a risk-free, profitable venture."
"No."
Chloe Reed immediately spoke up, her expression exceptionally grave as she stared at him. "You can’t do that." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Walker Grant, however, drawled, "As a guest, am I at least entitled to a glass of water?"
Iris finally understood!
He was threatening her!
’If she didn’t cater to his every whim, he would hand her over to this William Quinn!’
’But she wanted nothing more to do with this stranger!’
Panic and fear churned inside Iris, mixed with a growing hatred for Walker Grant. ’That damn scumbag!’
Though she cursed him a thousand times in her head, she still reluctantly went to get him a glass of water.
Chloe Reed’s expression was grave. "What were the terms of your deal?"
Walker Grant said, "He was unwilling to reveal who hired the hitman. But now, he’s willing to trade that information."
He gave her a teasing look. "Chloe, what’s your choice?"
Chloe Reed’s hands clenched into fists as she said coldly, "I would never trade my friend’s lifelong happiness for a deal!"
Walker Grant chuckled softly. "I knew you’d say that. That’s why I came to you first, instead of bringing him here."
Chloe Reed’s tension eased slightly, but she still asked, "What are you after?"
Walker Grant simply raised an eyebrow. "Do you suspect I’m trying to manipulate you again?"
"Have you not?" A flicker of conflict and pain crossed Chloe Reed’s clear eyes, but her expression quickly settled back into calm.
The look in Walker Grant’s eyes grew colder.
Just then, Iris Yates came over with the glass of water and set it down in front of him. She bit her lip and said, "I don’t care what kind of deal you two have, but Walker Grant... I’ll stop badmouthing you. I’ll do my best to stay out of your way. Just... don’t let him know who I am."
’She had thought it through. Anyone who knew Walker Grant was bound to be a scumbag. If that was the case, she had to stay far away from them. It was just one messy night. Time would eventually heal all wounds!’
Walker Grant picked up the glass and took a sip. "Get the guest room ready," he said nonchalantly. "Since she’s not leaving, I’m not leaving either."
