Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 531: William Quinn Is Missing
"What about Sean Miller?"
Chloe Reed asked again, "How will he be dealt with?"
Walker Grant said, "There are many suitable places for him."
"Mhm."
She nodded and started walking out of the villa.
Walker Grant walked by her side. His steps were unhurried, yet he kept pace with her perfectly.
His gaze would occasionally fall on her, but her mind was clearly somewhere else.
After a long silence, he suddenly said, "Your body desires me."
"What?"
Chloe Reed glanced at him instinctively, but when his words registered, her face went blank. She spun around and quickened her pace.
Walker Grant let out a low chuckle, his eyes fixed on her retreating figure as his Adam’s apple bobbed.
Forcing her body to submit to him with such methods was all he could do for now.
Suddenly, his phone rang. He took it out and saw it was a call from Dylan Finch.
"Hello?"
Dylan Finch’s tone was grave. "Mr. Grant, Mr. Quinn has disappeared."
The smile faded from Walker Grant’s lips. "What do you mean, disappeared?"
Dylan Finch said, "Hotel staff went to deliver lunch, but the room was empty. The hotel’s surveillance system was hacked. I’ve had people searching, but they haven’t found him."
Walker Grant’s eyes darkened. William Quinn had vanished right from under his nose.
He must have had help; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to escape.
"Search for him discreetly. We must find him." Walker Grant’s tone grew serious.
Nathaniel Monroe’s wedding was only half a month away; nothing could be allowed to go wrong in the meantime.
Any unexpected incident would completely derail their plan.
"Also, notify Lucas Shaw. Have him send people to keep William Quinn’s men tied up so they don’t have time to interfere with things here," Walker Grant ordered in a low voice.
"Yes, sir."
Hanging up, he walked over to Chloe Reed and said, "William Quinn is gone."
At his words, Chloe Reed looked up sharply. "What happened?"
"Tell Iris Yates not to go anywhere for the time being. I have people searching for William Quinn, but it will take time. The wedding is in half a month. Have her stay indoors until then," Walker Grant said in a deep voice.
"Okay."
Chloe Reed got in the car. "I’ll go to her place and tell her now."
"Mhm."
...
Iris Yates was happy to see her, but the smile vanished from her face the moment she heard what Chloe had to say.
"What am I going to do? I feel like I’m being stalked by a demon!" Iris Yates wrapped her arms around herself, her face crumpling. "Chloe, is getting married really going to work?"
Chloe Reed’s expression grew grim. "I’m not sure, but right now, it’s our only option."
Iris sank onto the sofa, her gaze vacant. She muttered, blaming herself, "Why did I have to go to the bar that day? If I hadn’t gone, I wouldn’t have run into him, and none of this would have happened..."
She ran a hand through her hair in frustration.
Chloe Reed gently took her hands. "Don’t be like this. What’s done is done. We need to focus on fixing this, not let these feelings drain you. Just stay home for now. Maybe after your wedding, even if he finds you, he’ll see that you’re married and leave you alone."
But it was all an unknown.
They were simply gambling on the outcome.
Iris immediately threw her arms around her, her wounded heart seeking comfort.
Chloe Reed stayed with her, planning to spend the night. But that evening, Walker Grant showed up at the door.
