Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 534: Very Eager to Marry Her
The groomsmen rushed in and started tossing out red envelopes. Adults and children alike scrambled to grab them, so no one was left to block Nathaniel Monroe.
Holding the bouquet, he charged straight to the room where Iris Yates was.
"Iris, open up! I’m here to get you!"
He shouted from outside the door, his voice exceptionally excited.
Hearing his excited voice, Iris Yates’s eyelid twitched violently. ’What is he doing? This is a fake marriage. He shouldn’t act like he’s actually this eager to marry me.’
There were other girls at the door—the bridesmaids—who were constantly creating challenges to stump Nathaniel Monroe.
There were idiom chains and brain teasers.
Chloe Reed watched the scene from the side, a faint smile always playing on her lips.
Iris Yates couldn’t help but lean closer to her and say, "You know, Chloe, your wedding back in the day was even livelier."
Chloe Reed lowered her gaze slightly and said, "That’s all in the past now."
Iris Yates sighed. "If only Grant the Scumbag hadn’t changed."
Chloe Reed said nothing.
’People change.’
’She used to love him deeply, but now, all she could think about was the transaction. Her feelings for him were long gone.’
’She just wanted to wait until the dust settled, divorce him, and go live the life she wanted.’
"..."
The quizzes ended, and Nathaniel Monroe successfully entered the room. When he saw Iris Yates sitting on the bed, he froze for a moment.
Someone on the side couldn’t help but joke, "The bride is so beautiful the groom is stunned! Spread the word, the groom is stunned!"
A wave of laughter erupted. Nathaniel Monroe snapped back to his senses, cleared his throat twice, and walked over to Iris Yates. Kneeling on one knee, he offered her the bouquet. "Wifey, will you come home with me?!"
"Hey, isn’t it a bit early to be calling her ’Wifey’?" a bridesmaid chimed in. "You haven’t even found the shoes yet. You can only take her away after you find them."
Nathaniel Monroe looked momentarily dumbfounded, then quickly stood up. "Hurry, hurry, everyone help me look! I need to take my wife home!"
The groomsmen started turning the place upside down, and the scene descended into chaos.
When Nathaniel Monroe saw Chloe Reed, he immediately went over and asked, "Sister-in-law, where are the wedding shoes? If you tell me, I’ll tell you one of Walker’s little secrets."
Chloe Reed raised an eyebrow slightly and said with a faint smile, "I don’t know."
Nathaniel Monroe: "..."
’Have Walker’s little secrets lost their power?’
’What do I do now?’
The photographer was filming on the side and couldn’t help but say, "Groom, look at me."
But Nathaniel Monroe was busy looking for the shoes and waved his hand dismissively. "I’m busy finding the wedding shoes. No time to look at you."
Photographer: "..."
The others at the side were trying so hard to hold in their laughter, they were about to burst.
"Just look at me! Just one look!" the photographer couldn’t help but shout.
Nathaniel Monroe glanced at him, then quickly looked away again. "I looked. Did you get your shot? Don’t hold me up from finding the wedding shoes."
"Hahahahaha..."
Someone just couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.
The scene instantly descended into pandemonium. Seeing this, Nathaniel Monroe and the other groomsmen were completely baffled.
"What are you all laughing about? Where on earth are the wedding shoes hidden?" Nathaniel Monroe couldn’t help but ask.
Walker Grant, standing at the very back, raised a hand to cover his forehead. He just couldn’t bear to watch.
"Nathaniel, they’re over here!"
Just then, a groomsman pointed at the photographer and shouted.
Nathaniel Monroe whipped his head around and saw the wedding shoes in the photographer’s hands. They had been right there in plain sight the whole time, yet somehow, they had all missed them.
The photographer said, "I kept trying to tell you! If only you’d given me more than a passing glance!"
