The man gripped her hand again.

His sharp, dark eyes gave her a deep look, then he turned to Charles Reed. "Dad, I’m the one who upset Chloe by not handling things properly. Let me take care of the rest."

Charles Reed looked displeased as he sat on the sofa. "Just keep spoiling her. She’s getting more and more out of control!"

Walker Grant smiled gently. "She’s my wife. I should dote on her for the rest of her life."

Charles Reed placed the whip on the coffee table.

Autumn Linton took a step forward. "Walker, does your back hurt? Should I put some medicine on it?"

Walker Grant shook his head. "It’s nothing. I’ve already had someone send the gift over. I’m going to head back with Chloe first. If you need anything, just call me anytime."

He gripped Chloe Reed’s hand tightly and headed outside.

They had barely taken two steps before Chloe Reed yanked her hand away.

’She’d been beaten before.’

’She knew exactly how much it hurt.’

’She still remembered that searing pain, the kind that felt like her skin was being ripped apart.’

’But she wasn’t going to be moved just because Walker Grant took two lashes for her.’

’All the storms in her life were because of this man. He deserved to get hit.’

Chloe Reed was forced into Walker Grant’s car.

As the man leaned over to fasten her seatbelt, she suddenly asked a question.

"Have you slept with Sunny Reed?"

The warmth in Walker Grant’s eyes vanished in an instant. "She’s my sister-in-law. Can you stop talking nonsense?"

"As the saying goes, nothing’s tastier than dumplings, and no one’s more fun than a sister-in-law." Chloe Reed blinked slowly. "Is she a lot of fun?"

"Chloe Reed!"

Walker Grant’s voice was low. "Don’t be ridiculous."

"But if you haven’t slept with her, then I really can’t understand why you’re so concerned about everything she does."

Chloe Reed unclenched her hands, then began scrubbing them furiously on her clothes, as if she had touched something filthy.

"Walker Grant, you’re disgusting."

"Disgusting?" Walker Grant was furious at first, then he suddenly laughed.

He grabbed her by the chin, his voice like a demon’s whisper.

"Chloe, are you this fired up because you’re sexually frustrated? Then let your husband help you put out that fire."

The moment the words left his mouth, his thin lips were on hers.

"MMPH!"

Chloe Reed immediately opened her mouth and bit down hard.

The metallic taste of blood spread between their lips.

"You’re a bastard!"

She slapped him across the face. "I want a divorce! Let’s go to the Civil Affairs Bureau right now, Walker Grant! I don’t want you anymore!"

The man’s face turned slightly. He pushed his tongue against the inside of his cheek. When he looked at her again, his eyes were deep and cold. "You want a divorce over some baseless nonsense, Chloe Reed? Are you serious?"

"Yes!"

Chloe Reed’s expression was resolute. "Divorce."

"Fine. Don’t you regret it."

An icy chill radiated from Walker Grant. He slammed the passenger door shut, got into the driver’s seat, and the car sped off, heading for the Civil Affairs Bureau.
