"Is this really free? It’s way too powerful," Oliver muttered in disbelief as his hand trembled while holding the card.

Immunity to Crowd Control was an absolutely absurd ability. Even though it only lasted for five seconds, in an actual battle, five seconds was more than enough to determine victory or defeat.

Or even the difference between life and death.

[The system has deemed you worthy of this card. Your resilience in facing the great tragedy that befell you in the past, and your ability to overcome it through strength and unwavering willpower, have proven that you are ’Untouchable’ by despair and misery.]

Oliver’s eyes slowly became teary before he quickly wiped them away.

It seemed the system had been silently monitoring him throughout the past five years as he struggled against despair, regret, and pain while endlessly training himself and his monsters through blood and sweat every single day.

"There’s no need to cry anymore. Let’s all get some rest today, everyone. Tomorrow, we’ll go and train with our new classes!"

---

The monsters in this world are basically divided into two major categories.

The first are Dungeon Monsters.

These monsters remain inside dungeons and are contained within them. Even after being killed, they will eventually respawn again after some time.

The second category is Rogue Monsters.

Rogue Monsters are creatures that escape during dungeon breaks and roam freely throughout the world. They are the main cause of countless human casualties and injuries.

And right now, Oliver was hunting the latter.

He was currently within the Chrysalide Grassland after accepting a quest to exterminate a massive group of giant grasshopper monsters that had been destroying crops.

Before starting the hunt, Oliver first went to meet the leader of a nearby small settlement called Corny Village, whose main source of income came from corn farming.

"Thank you for accepting our request. But... did you really come alone? Do you realize there are thousands of those Hopperns out there?" the village leader asked in surprise after seeing only Oliver arrive.

"Yes, I know. Don’t worry, just leave it to me. I’ll make sure all of you can continue working on your fields tomorrow." Oliver assured them.

He immediately proceeded toward the vast field. The moment he arrived, his vision was instantly filled with black flying insects covering almost the entire corn field.

<Hoppern>

"Come out, Husk and Nyx!"

A four-meter wolf and a five-meter beetle instantly appeared. If other tamers outside Ashville Town saw these two monsters, they would surely mistake them for rogue bosses.

Immediately, the Hopperns, each around 1.5 meters in size began swarming toward them.

Click!

BANG!!

Nyx released a scatter blast that instantly killed dozens of Hopperns at once. He then continued bombarding other parts of the field relentlessly.

"Change to Crimson Striker Class!"

Oliver’s body instantly transformed as crimson aura covered him from head to toe. His hair and attire turned deep red. A smirk slowly appeared on his face as excitement surged through him.

"You look really happy, kid," Husk said from beside him. Now that their Familiarity had reached the maximum, Husk and the other monsters could utilize nearly half of their original power.

The only thing limiting them now was Oliver’s still relatively low Tamer Level. On top of that, the seal placed on Husk was still active, meaning unlike Nyx and Queen, Husk suffered from far more restrictions.

"Hehehe. Of course. You handle that side, Husk. I’ll handle this side."

Immediately, Oliver dashed forward, leaving behind a crimson trail as he moved. A large swarm of Hopperns instantly flew toward him. Their numbers were so massive that they resembled a black cloud of smoke.

Oliver pulled his hand backward before unleashing Crimson Slash toward the nearest monsters. And instantly, he became surprised.

The slash wave traveled outward from his swing before cutting through every monster in its path and instantly slicing them all in half.

"Whoa! The slash can now be launched from a distance?!" Oliver exclaimed in shock.

[You have defeated Hoppern for the first time!]

[Received 50 Tamer Coins.]

[Defeating the same monster again later will no longer reward Tamer Coins.]

"Ahh, that sound! I really missed it." Oliver said after hearing the notification again after so many years of absence.

Honestly, he had secretly hoped that the system would reward him with a massive amount of Tamer Coins as compensation for the long update so he could buy many packs immediately.

But still, he was already grateful enough to receive a Super Rare card. Even if he bought ten packs, there was still no guarantee he would obtain a Super Rare card.

"Yosh! Let’s finish this quickly!"

"Crimson Slash!"

"Crimson Slash!"

"Crimson Slash!"

Oliver continuously spammed the skill without stopping. The Hopperns had absolutely no chance of approaching Oliver and his monsters.

After thirty minutes of complete massacre, the final Hoppern was finally defeated by Oliver.

"Good job, Husk and Nyx." Oliver returned to his normal form afterward.

"Nyx... want... more." Nyx said, feeling satisfied after blasting enemies endlessly today.

"Next time, alright Nyx? I’ll find even stronger enemies so you can blast as much as you want." Oliver replied with a laugh.

Soon, Oliver returned to Corny Village, and the village leader was shocked that he had completed the quest so quickly. He immediately handed over the reward of seventy-five silver coins along with a bag filled with grilled corn.

Later, Oliver leisurely traveled back through the forest toward Ashville Town while eating grilled corn on top of Husk’s back.

"Husk, want some?"

"Is it good?"

"Try it first."

Oliver tossed a corn into the air, and Husk instantly swallowed it whole. Ever since tasting Tamera’s cooking in the past, Husk had become much more open to eating human food. Now, whenever Oliver offered him something, he would usually accept it.

Night had slowly begun falling over the forest.

Oliver often returned home late after completing missions, and although Irmine used to oppose it strongly, she had gradually become more accepting over the years.

Suddenly, Husk abruptly stopped moving.

"Why, Husk? Is something wrong?" 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"I hear something, around five miles from here."

"Let’s go check it out."

Husk immediately dashed deeper into the forest at high speed.
