"Oliver! Oliver!" Arnulf and Irmine shouted their son’s name. Right now, both of them in Crimsonmoon Forest. Each of them carrying torches and their faces filled with worry. Irmine had summoned Sniffang, which had a keen sense of smell to lead them.

"Auf! Auf!" Suddenly, Sniffang barked.

"Honey! Look!"

They saw many bodies lying on the ground. Most of them were not in one piece, showing clear signs of being mauled to death.

"No! Oliver..." Irmine’s knees began to weaken as she imagined the fate that might have befallen her son. Arnulf, however, still held onto hope that his son was safe.

"Auff! Auff!" Sniffang suddenly barked, jumping and wagging its tail. It looked excited.

Arnulf and Irmine rushed to Sniffang and saw Oliver lying on the ground.

"Oliver! My dear!" Irmine immediately hugged her son and checked for any signs of injury. Luckily, there were no wounds or bleeding, and Oliver was still breathing.

"Let’s bring him back. It is cold outside." Arnulf placed his jacket over Oliver’s body as Irmine carried him. Before they left, Arnulf walked over and checked one of the bodies. The corpse had a bronze plate, marking it as a dungeon hunter. But Arnulf had never seen any of them before.

"Are they illegal hunters? And who did this to them?" His eyes then drifted to his son, whose head rested on Irmine’s shoulder.

"Did Oliver do this?"

Oliver slowly opened his eyes and saw his bedroom ceiling. He was back in his room, covered in a warm blanket. Sunlight streamed through the window, filling the space with light.

"Did I just dream?" That was his first thought. But it would be a disappointment if it had all been just a dream.

"Status!" he called. A holographic screen appeared in front of him.

"I am not dreaming! So I really tamed a boss and defeated those bad guys." Oliver was excited. Suddenly, the door opened, and his mother immediately hugged him. His parents had heard his voice beyond the door and were relieved.

"Oliver! Why did you leave the house last night? We were very worried." Irmine kissed and hugged her son.

"I am sorry, Father and Mother. I... I was too frustrated about what happened yesterday that I went for... err, a night walk to relieve my stress," Oliver tried to explain.

"A night walk in the middle of Crimsonmoon Forest? That is very dangerous, son! That forest is off-limits for anyone without a hunter certificate." Irmine did not believe what Oliver said.

Arnulf, meanwhile, just watched the interaction between his son and wife. He suddenly remembered the conversation he had with the other hunters that morning.

"We suspect those hunters were killed by a very powerful monster. Possibly a high-rank one. We need to stay alert," Abraham said. He and the other hunters had already investigated the scene. After that, he came to Arnulf’s house, as it was the closest to the forest.

"And one more thing. The dungeon portal, it is gone," Abraham added.

"Gone? What do you mean?" Arnulf asked, in disbelief.

"We had marked the place where the portal should be in preparation for today’s raid. However, after searching all over, the portal could not be found. Usually, the Mooncrest Dungeon portal should remain open for at least one week. But it lasted only one day and then disappeared. Those illegal hunters must have raided the dungeon before they were killed, based on the red jewels they carried."

"Is it... a dungeon collapse?" Arnulf asked.

"It is impossible! Dungeon collapse is only a myth! It only occurs if the boss monster inside has been tamed, and there is no one in this world that I know of who can do that," Abraham replied.

"Honey! Honey! Honey!"

Arnulf snapped out of his thoughts as his wife kept calling his name.

"What were you staring at just now? Come here and kiss your son. We should be grateful that he is fine." Irmine said to him with an angry face.

"Alright, alright, I am very sorry."

The three of them hugged each other. Oliver smiled as he felt the warmth of his parents’ love, something he had never felt in his past life.

"I am sorry for troubling both of you. I will never do it again," Oliver said.

"Yes, you should! One more time you do it, I will punish you for that." His mother said firmly.

"Errr... alright, Mom." Oliver forced a smile.

After that, Oliver had breakfast, then went back to his room and locked the door.

"You have good parents."

"Kiyaak!"

Oliver was startled as he saw Velkryss already sitting on his bed when he turned his head.

"When did you get out of the system? I did not even summon you. And why are you on my bed?"

"I have the authority to come in and out of your system freely, as you are still frail. It makes it easier for me to protect you without waiting for your orders."

"Am I really that weak? Does the system really think I am useless right now?" Oliver sighed.

He then walk lazily on his bed beside Velkryss and open his status.

"I did not close my system when my parents entered, but they did not notice it. So that means maybe only I can see this screen," Oliver deduced.

"Now, let’s see what the system has." Oliver licked his lips. He then looked at his status.
