Peach Blossom Divine Medical God
Chapter 2044 - 1999: Qingfeng Sect
He needed to figure out why Blood Bat Hall would set an ambush here.
"Interrogation is my specialty. Brother Chen Yang, don’t rush to act; let me handle this." Ao Min chuckled and stepped forward, planting his foot on the man’s chest to begin questioning.
The man was honest, knowing he was doomed, and didn’t wish to suffer any longer.
Thus, Ao Min didn’t have to spend much effort; the man revealed everything he knew in one breath.
"Our team is here to ambush a small sect called Qingfeng Sect."
"There’s no other purpose."
The man said truthfully.
"Qingfeng Sect? What kind of sect is that?" Ao Min was clueless.
He had never heard of this sect before.
"A very small sect that stays hidden all year round; it’s normal that you wouldn’t know." The man gasped weakly.
"Since it’s a small sect, why go to such great lengths to ambush it?" Ao Min asked in confusion.
"Because the sect is very mysterious and impossible to track, this time we worked hard to find out they would attend the Divine Dragon Assembly, so we set the ambush here." The man replied.
"How did they offend you?" Ao Min inquired.
"Even though Qingfeng Sect is small, it was once glorious long ago, and the Hall Master wants their inheritance, so..." the man stated outright.
After hearing this, Chen Yang finally understood the whole situation.
It turns out Blood Bat Hall ambushed Qingfeng Sect not because of enmity but purely for their inheritance.
"Ah, I see. You guys are truly disgusting, having solid power yet coveting the possessions of a small sect." Ao Min sneered with disdain.
The man looked a bit embarrassed but said nothing.
After some time, having made up his mind, he spoke, "I’ve told you everything there is to say. Can you make it quick for me?"
"Certainly." Ao Min smiled faintly and delivered a swift palm strike, ending the man’s life.
"Seems we overthought it, the Blood Bat Hall rascals didn’t know we’d attend the Divine Dragon Assembly." Ao Min turned to Chen Yang.
Chen Yang nodded: "At least we got something out of this trip; we learned that Blood Bat Hall doesn’t know our information."
"So, what now? Shall we keep scouting the area or head up the mountain for the Divine Dragon Assembly?" Ao Min asked.
Chen Yang didn’t answer immediately but pondered for a while.
"Since the perimeter is bustling, we don’t need to rush in; let’s wait."
Ultimately, Chen Yang decided not to head straight up the mountain.
Though the Divine Dragon Assembly had started, it was surely not yet at its peak.
Many more people would arrive in succession.
Entering when the crowd peaks at Divine Dragon Mountain would draw less attention.
"Alright, as you say." Ao Min had no objections and agreed readily.
With all the Blood Bat Hall people dealt with, Chen Yang waved his hand, dismantled the formation, and retrieved all the materials.
He also slightly handled the remaining Blood Bat Hall corpses.
To prevent any clues that might cause them trouble. After tidying up everything, Chen Yang planned to leave with Ao Min and He Xiran.
Unexpectedly, just as they were about to leave, several presences rapidly approached from the forest nearby.
Detecting someone nearing, Chen Yang and Ao Min instinctively became alert.
It was rare for anyone to pass through the Blood Bat Hall’s ambush zone.
The arrivals were likely from Blood Bat Hall.
Thus, they stayed vigilant.
Yet, as the presences drew near, they found it wasn’t Blood Bat Hall.
The arrivals numbered four.
Leading was an elder with youthful features and white hair, followed by two men and a woman.
The woman was strikingly beautiful and gave off a strong aura.
Her attire was simple and somewhat dated, hinting she wasn’t from this era.
The men’s cultivation was even more notable, one in the late stages of Qi Cultivation with ordinary looks.
The other noticeably emitted a Spirit Gathering Realm aura fluctuation.
His expression was stern, cold as ice.
He carried a heavy sword on his back, indicating his extraordinary nature.
Anyone could see he was a formidable figure.
Though his aura was quite unstable, seemingly recently breaking into the Spirit Gathering Realm.
As the four approached, their reactions mirrored Chen Yang and his companions. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Staying vigilant.
They exchanged glances, surveying each member of Chen Yang’s group.
Seeing they lacked Blood Bat Hall’s aura, Chen Yang and Ao Min relaxed slightly.
"May I ask, fellow cultivators, which sect might you belong to? This old man is merely passing by; may I find a way through?"
After mutual quiet observation lasting several seconds, the elder stepped forth, clasping his hands formally.
"Old man, could you be people from Qingfeng Sect?" Ao Min asked directly.
Chen Yang hadn’t even spoken yet.
At Ao Min’s question, the elder and others visibly reacted.
Becoming increasingly alert.
"Fellow cultivators, what sect are you from?" The elder asked cautiously, repeating his previous question.
Hmph.
Seeing their reaction, Ao Min and Chen Yang were sure these were Qingfeng Sect people.
Ao Min snorted, "Old man, our sect isn’t your concern; since fate brings us together, here’s a goodwill warning: The path ahead is perilous, your movements are already detected by Blood Bat Hall."
"You’d best change your course, or face great danger."
At Ao Min’s words, the elder’s expression shifted again!
Blood Bat Hall?
Not only the elder, but even the young man with the heavy sword behind him showed some reaction.
Clearly, they were wary of Blood Bat Hall.
"Brother Chen Yang, let’s go." Having said that, Ao Min intended to leave.
"Alright." Chen Yang nodded slightly, also wishing to leave.
The Qingfeng Sect group seemed alright; Chen Yang had no intention to further interact with them.
Whoosh whoosh!
But just as Chen Yang was about to lead the group away, a heavy sword suddenly whistled, blocking his path.
"Hold on!" An icy voice followed promptly.
"What does this mean?" Chen Yang furrowed his brows, redirecting his gaze.
Blocking them with a sword could only be the stern heavy sword man.
"How do you know we’re from Qingfeng Sect? Where did you learn of the danger ahead?" The heavy sword man questioned sharply.
"Ling Han, don’t act rashly!" The elder hurriedly stepped forth, trying to restrain the heavy sword man.
"Master, these people are suspicious; we can’t let them pass. Senior Brother is right." Another man spoke up.
His tone suggested he was Ling Han’s junior disciple.
Hearing his words made Chen Yang, Ao Min, and He Xiran laugh.
Truly turning goodwill into misunderstanding, these folks were treating them as villains.
