Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty
Chapter 505 - 466: Deadly Island is a village, not an island.
Zhao Rong told his assistant, "Haven't you noticed? The teeth in this thing's mouth are identical to those of the handsome mermen—they're incredibly sharp."
Hearing this, everyone took a closer look at the carp spirit's teeth. Sure enough, his teeth were sharp and vicious, exactly like a piranha's, arranged in the shape of a deadly saw.
The assistant wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and gasped, asking Zhao Rong, "Boss, since this carp spirit is one of those handsome mermen, what should we do with him?"
Lili stepped forward, grabbing a nearby spear. "What else can we do? For a ferocious, man-eating merman that has cultivated into a spirit, our only option is to kill it. Otherwise, leaving it here will cause endless trouble."
Yu Lan brought over a high-voltage device from the boat. "Since the natural enemy of a piranha is an electric eel, we might as well use this to electrocute this merman. That way, he'll die quickly."
Meanwhile, Xue Lianmei pulled two cans of pepper spray from her pocket and sprayed the merman lying on the ground. "I've been carrying this pepper spray to protect everyone the whole time but never got a chance to use it. Since it's just sitting here, I might as well spray you until you're dead."
Although Xue Lianmei threatened to use the pepper spray to kill the spirit-transformed merman before her, she knew a monster like him wouldn't be so easily dispatched. To her complete surprise, however, the merman turned out to be allergic to the pepper spray. The moment she sprayed him, he died instantly.
When everyone saw that Xue Lianmei had personally killed the handsome merman, the assistant, Zhao Rong, Yu Lan, and Lili all gave her a thumbs-up. "Xue Lianmei, you're a true heroine," they praised. "A Mulan in our midst!"
Hearing their praise, Xue Lianmei said awkwardly, "Honestly, I just wanted to use the pepper spray to make him suffer a little… I never expected to actually kill him."
Then, Zhao Rong opened the Magic Ring and took out the last of the villains, a dwarf. Zhao Rong threw the dwarf to the ground and immediately warned him, "Listen up, little man. You better behave, or your fate will be the same as the motorcyclist, the fat man, and the skinny man before you—either beaten to death or killed outright."
The dwarf obediently replied, "Sir, whatever you ask of me, I'll do it."
"Then lead us to Deadly Island right now," Zhao Rong commanded, "or I'll take your life."
The dwarf immediately nodded in agreement. "Alright, I swear on my life that I will take you to Deadly Island right now."
With that, Zhao Rong and his group set off toward Deadly Island in their private yacht.
After sailing for about a day and a night, the dwarf told Zhao Rong, "Brother Zhao Rong, we land just ahead. Then we'll have reached Deadly Island."
But when Zhao Rong saw that the place ahead was the very same dock where they had first set sail, he stared angrily at the dwarf. "Are you messing with us? We were supposed to go to Deadly Island, so why did you guide us in a huge circle at sea just to return to the same dock in the same city we started from?"
Hearing Zhao Rong's accusation, the dwarf said with a great sense of grievance, "Boss, you don't understand! Deadly Island isn't an island. It's a small village next to Xijing City."
When Zhao Rong heard that Deadly Island wasn't an island in the sea but a small village, he was so shocked he stumbled and fell to the ground. "Damn it, are you kidding me? Is Deadly Island really just a village and not an island?"
While Zhao Rong was in utter shock, his assistant, Lili, Yu Lan, and Xue Lianmei were equally astonished.
The assistant took out a leather whip and started lashing the dwarf. "Motherfucker, are you freaking playing with us? Do you think we're complete morons? With a name like 'Deadly Island,' it has to be an island! How could it possibly be a small village?"
Yu Lan went even further, kicking the dwarf's rear. "I'm warning you, take us to the real Deadly Island now, or I'll shred your ass with my high heels!"
Xue Lianmei took out her pepper spray again. "Dwarf, you're clearly making fools of us! How could a village be named Deadly Island? Are you taking us for fools?"
However, no matter how harshly Zhao Rong's group interrogated the dwarf, he stuck to his story that Deadly Island was a village, looking extremely wronged the entire time.
With no other choice, Zhao Rong took out the lie detector he had previously bought from the Paradise Shopping Cart. Holding the device and aiming it at the dwarf, he said, "Let me tell you, this is called the Perfect Lie Detector. So don't even think you can fool it."
With that, Zhao Rong used the Perfect Lie Detector on the dwarf. To his astonishment, the test revealed that the dwarf wasn't lying. Deadly Island really was a village, not an island.
But then Zhao Rong remembered how, before they had set off, the chairman had personally shown him a map and told him Deadly Island was a small island at sea. Wang Xiaopeng, who was standing right next to the chairman, had even pointed to an inconspicuous island on the map and confirmed that it was Deadly Island. Zhao Rong was baffled, not knowing who to believe.
He pondered for a long time before wondering to himself, Could the chairman and Wang Xiaopeng have been mistaken? Is Deadly Island not at sea, but a small village next to Xijing City?
So, Zhao Rong led everyone off the boat, back into Xijing City. From there, they took a bus to the nearby village called Deadly Island. Upon entering, they were surprised to discover it wasn't a village at all, but a small town.
By this time, the sky was gradually growing dark. Having been adrift at sea for so long, the group was exhausted and desperately needed to find a hotel to rest. After searching for a while, however, they found only one hotel nearby.
Just as they were about to go inside, an old sanitation worker cleaning the street stopped them. "You mustn't stay in that hotel," he warned. "Everyone says it's haunted. Every time you turn out the lights to go to sleep, a hand reaches out from under the bed…"
