Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System
Chapter 211 - 184: Clash with the Centaur Leader (2)
The corpse of an Elf lay there, a bowl-sized hole blasted through its chest. The surrounding flesh was scorched as if by intense flames, and the faint scent of cooked meat drifted on the air.
"Allen, we have no idea where they are. What do we do?"
Another surviving Elf asked in a low voice.
"The commotion here must have caught Si Kai and the others’ attention. We just need to hold out until they get here," Allen said, forcing a calm tone to comfort him.
In truth, he had no confidence at all. The enemy was simply terrifyingly strong.
He saw it with his own eyes. It was clearly just an arrow, but it had pierced through two giant trees and still had enough force to go through the dead Elf’s body.
Even Queen Aixi couldn’t compare when it came to sheer destructive power.
Allen realized a true powerhouse had joined their pursuers.
"Over there!"
Suddenly, the panicked voice of the other Elf rang out.
Allen looked up, and his heart seemed to stop.
A Centaur stood on a high slope, looking down at them with cold eyes. Its thick, muscular arms were slowly drawing a Bowstring, which crackled with flashes of lightning.
If it were only that, Allen wouldn’t have been so horrified. The real reason was that this Centaur was enormous!
It stood no less than a Quadruple Blade in height, its four hooved legs as thick as steel pillars, capable of easily shattering bluestone.
The Panda Person he had seen with Si Kai was the most powerfully built individual Allen had ever encountered, but he looked malnourished compared to this Centaur.
It carried a giant cleaver on its back the size of a door panel. Two golden horns jutted toward the sky, and the thick mane around its neck billowed in the wind.
One could easily imagine a single swing of that massive cleaver being enough to slice through everything in its path.
Allen’s face was ashen. He felt as if he were being stared down by a ferocious savanna lion, his limbs frozen and cold, unable to move.
WHOOSH!
A muffled thunderclap exploded as the Arrow, wreathed in arcs of electricity, finally shot forth.
The Arrow’s power was undeniable. Allen swore he had never seen a more terrifying Arrow in his entire life.
The sonic boom from its friction with the air reminded him of a lightning bolt from a clear sky a few months ago, which had obliterated a giant tree dozens of blades tall into dust.
’Even a gigantic Mammoth couldn’t withstand a hit from this Arrow!’
Allen wasn’t the only one who thought so; Gus did too.
He was the supreme powerhouse of the Wilderness, born with mastery over the Thunder Element, able to control lightning at will.
An ordinary Arrow from him could kill a Mammoth, let alone one imbued with his Thunder Element.
After meeting up with those Zor Elves last night, they had immediately sent him to hunt down these few little insects.
After searching for so long, he had finally caught up to them.
He mused, beginning to put away his Bow and Arrow, preparing to leave. But just then, the unexpected happened.
BOOM!
A massive crash.
Logically, his Arrow should have pierced one Elf’s chest, and the subsequent explosion of the Thunder Element would have roasted the other Elf to a crisp.
But now...
A giant Shield had fallen from the sky, planting itself in the Arrow’s path, and the outcome had changed as a result.
The Arrow, powerful enough to kill Mammoths weighing tens of thousands of pounds, had only managed to send the Shield flying. It crashed into a giant tree a few paces away, leaving only a tiny, almost unnoticeable mark upon it.
He was a little surprised. In his entire career, this was the first time his Arrow had ever been blocked. He couldn’t help but want to see what kind of expert had done it, but a sentence from the forest instantly made his expression darken.
"Damn it, you little scumbag! How dare you kill my people?"
The Lord, leading a group of Panda Warriors, roared furiously as they charged menacingly out of the forest.
He had just arrived to see a Centaur drawing its bow. Without a moment’s hesitation, he had summoned the special Shield—made to counter a Giant Dragon—from his System Space and thrown it in front of the Elf, Allen.
Fortunately, this Shield had been forged to withstand a Giant Dragon’s Dragon Breath, and no expense had been spared on its materials.
That was why such a terrifying Arrow had only left a small mark on it.
"Well, look who it is. If it isn’t the bunch of little punks who fled in disgrace."
The Lord sneered, looking up at the Centaur Leader staring down at him from the slope.
The Panda Warriors behind him gripped their weapons tightly, staring intently at the Centaur. They could feel a powerful pressure emanating from it.
"Lord, this Centaur is very strong!" Even Panda, who appeared humble on the surface but was proud to the core, reminded him with a grave expression.
"Lord..." Allen looked at the human standing in front of him, his face filled with shame.
’Just moments ago, I acted so disrespectfully, yet this Lord still rushed over with his men to save me, and now he’s shielding me with his own body.’
Levi waved his hand without speaking, merely surveying his surroundings.
A group of Centaurs emerged from the surrounding woods. A rough estimate put their numbers at just under a hundred.
They were more or less surrounded. A vicious battle was all but unavoidable.
"Panda, can you handle these Centaurs?" the Lord asked.
"Lord, are you looking down on the Panta Race?" Panda grinned. Though he didn’t answer directly, his expression said it all.
’It wasn’t that I looked down on the Panda People,’ Levi thought, ’it was that the Centaurs had four legs. If they decided to kite, my two-legged Panda People would never be able to catch them.’
But since Panda had spoken so confidently, he was clearly certain he could handle them.
"Alright, I’ll leave these Centaurs to you. I’ll take care of the Centaur Leader!" the Lord said with a nod, laying out the simple battle plan.
"What?" Panda, who had been locked in a fiery staredown with the Centaur Leader, was stunned. ’I haven’t been drinking today,’ he thought, ’so why am I mishearing things?’
’I admit that this Baron Levi’s Power is outstanding among humans. I’d also heard from Si Kai that he was cultivating the Glowing Holy Word Treasure Manual.’
’There were even endless legends about him circulating in the barracks, but I’ve never seen him fight with my own eyes. So, I figured that even if the Lord was strong, he was at best on par with Si Kai.’
’And Si Kai? I can take on three of him!’
’So, facing a powerful enemy the likes of which I’ve rarely seen, as the strongest one here, it’s my duty to take him on!’
"Lord, the power of this Centaur Leader is like an avalanche on a snowy mountain—it’s not something that can be opposed by human strength." Panda tried to express his meaning as tactfully as possible to avoid hurting a certain someone’s pride.
"He is a powerhouse of the Wilderness. His hooves can undoubtedly shatter Giant Stone, and he could probably kill a Wilderness Giant Rhinoceros in two or three punches."
"Lord, your status is noble. There’s no need for you to contend with it!"
A creature like the Wilderness Giant Rhinoceros had a shoulder height of Tri-Blade and above, weighed several thousand pounds, and could easily knock down a giant tree that took three people to encircle. Its skin was extremely tough, a natural armor.
Panda’s advice was sincere and heartfelt, but whether it was useful or not depended on who it was for.
"Two or three punches? I could kill it with one!"
The Lord was extremely disdainful.
’Ever since I finished allocating my Attribute Points and the two-fold enhancement from the Firefly stage ended, I haven’t met an opponent who could make me go all out.’
’In my eyes, this Centaur is just barely worthy of testing my current strength.’
"Kill these Panda People and Elves."
"Capture that human alive. I want to kill him with my own hands!"
Gus gave the command in a cold voice.
’This is the first time I’ve ever been insulted, and by a human, no less.’
’Back when this human was slaughtering that group of Minotaurs, I wanted to kill him personally, but I was stopped by Leiden.’
’I never thought he’d deliver himself right to my doorstep!’
The battle was about to erupt.
"Kill!"
The Panda Warriors roared and crashed into the Centaurs. Both sides were hulking figures with a height of Tri-Blade, each confident that their individual strength was in no way inferior to their opponent’s.
