Chapter 71: Chapter 70: Giant-Brand Weapon, Only The User Knows

The bandits quickly discovered the Shield Array’s weak point. Compared to the row of Steel Shields, which were each two and a half blades high, the one Shield in the middle was only two blades high.

It was universally acknowledged that size was proportional to Power. A Shield that small meant the wielder’s Power was surely no match for the giants beside him.

The bandits, thinking they had found an easy opening, swarmed forward to break through.

But they soon came to regret their cleverness. A Giant Sword shot out from behind that Shield, effortlessly skewering them on its two-blade-long edge as if they were meat on a spit.

What terrified them was that the Giant Sword, impaling seven or eight bandits, was lifted with ease. Then, with a single flick, it was wiped clean.

What immense strength was this? The Giant Sword and the corpses on it had to weigh nearly a thousand pounds.

Levi burst from the line he had formed with the Beastman Barbarians, Shield first, and crashed into the enemy horde.

The Wilderness Bandits at the front tried to brace against his charge but were horrified to find he was like a mountain—utterly unstoppable.

Levi charged a dozen more paces, sending dozens of bandits flying before he finally stopped.

After a brief moment of shock, the bandits were ecstatic. They had been helpless against the Shield Array, but now this human had actually dared to charge out alone. One after another, they threw themselves at him.

This was exactly what Levi wanted. He could only reap lives most efficiently by surrounding himself with the largest number of enemies.

He swung his Giant Sword with one hand, its reach a forbidden zone of death. Even the lightest graze from its tip was enough to tear a man’s torso open.

Even the Lizardmen, standing two blades tall, were mown down like fields of wheat.

The disturbance here caught the attention of the Wilderness Bandits’ top combatant: a Giant.

A Giant roared and charged forward. Goblins in its path were stomped into meat paste under its feet. It raised a massive club fashioned from a tree trunk and brought it crashing down.

"Just what I was waiting for!"

Levi roared, raising his Shield to meet the blow.

BOOM!

With a tremendous crack, the immense force of the impact caused the top half of the Giant’s club to explode into a shower of splinters.

But what Levi hadn’t expected was that the blow drove him into the earth up to his knees.

He had forgotten that while he could withstand the Giant’s attack, the ground beneath his feet could not.

"Levi!"

From the watchtower, Baisitina’s face went deathly pale. She looked as tragic as a begonia blossom battered by the rain.

The Power of a Giant standing a full four blades tall was beyond question. A single swing of its club could flatten a man in Iron Armor into a metal disk.

The fact that a tree trunk thicker than a man had exploded on impact was a testament to the blow’s power.

Seeing Levi driven into the ground, it was hard to believe anyone could have survived such a strike.

Seeing this, Sam felt a surge of joy. ’If Levi dies and the Feder Tribe falls,’ he thought, ’I can rally the captured warriors, escape, and go back to my own Tribe to rule as a king again.’

Among those present, perhaps only the Barbarians, who had seen their leader work countless miracles, believed he wouldn’t die so easily.

「The next moment!」

"Damn it!"

With a curse, Levi planted his hands on the ground and vaulted out of the crater.

The Giant’s combat prowess was truly commendable. It was, at least, the only foe so far to have made the Lord suffer a setback.

Feeling he had lost face due to his carelessness, the Lord tossed aside his Shield and Longsword and charged.

Baisitina was overjoyed at Levi’s miraculous survival, but she was utterly baffled when he threw away his weapons.

On the battlefield, to discard your weapon and Shield was to discard your life.

But the Lord’s next move made Baisitina gasp, her hand flying to cover her delicate lips.

She watched as Levi dodged an attack, rushed in, and wrapped his arms around the Giant’s massive leg.

His intention was obvious.

"That’s impossible!"

Sam cried out in disbelief.

It was already incredible that Levi could withstand the Giant’s full-powered blow. Now he was actually trying to topple this Giant Beast, a creature over four blades tall and weighing several thousand pounds.

What was the difference between this and a monkey trying to topple an elephant? "Overconfident" wasn’t a strong enough word to describe the Lord’s actions.

"What the hell do you know?!"

"How could a spineless coward like you possibly imagine the Boss’s true strength?"

Muto roared.

He was already furious at being ordered by Levi to watch this old fool. As the second-in-command of the Burning Corps, he couldn’t be on the battlefield, stuck here guarding a shriveled-up coward instead.

Now this coward dared to question the leader Muto revered as a War God. To him, that was a graver insult than any personal attack.

Seeing Muto draw a Cowhide Whip as thick as three fingers, Sam decided that discretion was the better part of valor and fell silent. In his heart, however, he eagerly awaited the moment Levi made a fool of himself, just to see if this Beastman would still act so tough.

The Feder Warriors on the walls were momentarily stunned. They realized Levi was trying to topple the Giant Beast. They were hopeful, yet they felt it was a feat beyond human strength.

"Up!" Levi bellowed, the veins on his arms bulging like writhing worms beneath his Armor.

Before everyone’s eyes, Levi straightened his back.

The Giant shrieked as its massive body lost control and toppled over like a collapsing mountain.

THUD!

A dull, heavy thud shook the very ground. Bandits too slow to escape were crushed into paste beneath the behemoth’s weight as dust billowed into the air.

This simple, pure display of Power created the most stunning visual shock. Everyone on the walls fell silent. Even the howling bandits were struck dumb.

Then, a thunderous roar erupted. Every Feder Warrior who witnessed the feat cheered wildly, their morale soaring.

Even those who hadn’t seen it were swept up in the excitement. Their blood began to boil, and their fear of the Wilderness Bandits started to fade.

"Wait, what is Lord Levi doing now?"

A Feder Warrior suddenly noticed that after toppling the Giant, Levi hadn’t delivered the final blow with a sword. Instead, he was still holding its leg.

The next second, something happened that shattered their perception of reality.

Holding the Giant’s leg, Levi lowered his center of gravity. Then, with a sudden, mighty heave, he began to spin the Giant’s enormous body.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!

Like a man swinging a broom, Levi used the Giant as a weapon to sweep away all the surrounding bandits.

With miserable screams, they were sent flying in wide arcs through the air before crashing violently back to earth. Broken bones were the mildest of injuries; most died instantly from the impact of the several-thousand-pound Giant Beast.

Levi had cleared an empty zone with a radius of about five blades.

In an instant, the battlefield fell silent. Everyone stared in disbelief at the man who was swinging the Giant around as if it were a toy.

"Gods... Her... Hercules..." Sam stared blankly at the scene, his entire worldview crumbling as he mumbled to himself.
