Players Invade Cyberpunk
Chapter 1008 - 325: Beta Release – The Division + Crysis + Lego Cyber World!
While Miles was busy issuing her declaration of war, Lin Miao was also busy preparing the war content for the new version.
This war was crucial for both sides, but the price each had to pay was different.
Because even at this point, Miles still wouldn't send a single soldier to Cuba; everything she was doing right now was just talking big.
In the early stages, the only one actually fighting in Cuba would be Horizon Corporation, and no one else.
And New America's troops would only enter the field when the scales of war had completely tipped; in other words, if you don't win, she's not coming.
In other words, Horizon Corporation was nothing more than a knife in New America's hand that could be tossed away at any time.
But that didn't mean New America would just sit back doing nothing and wait to reap the rewards. Miles and Military Technology would help shoulder the political pressure from the European Community, and at the same time fully open their arms depot to Horizon Corporation: as long as they had it, anything that wasn't a special weapon could be bought.
The banks of New America and Military Technology would even take the initiative to lend you money so you could buy their weapons and services, and the loan limit and interest rate would depend on Horizon Corporation's advance speed and the situation on the battlefield in Cuba.
In short, Miles and Military Technology were never going to do a losing business.
For the players and for Lin Miao, the hardest problem in this war was distance.
Between Cuba and Night City lay thousands of kilometers, and everything in between was blank space as far as Horizon Corporation and the players were concerned. There were also large stretches of ocean that required airlift; the logistics pressure was a mountain, totally beyond what they could handle at their current level.
Running back and forth frequently between the two places was even more impossible. After all, this game didn't have any always-available portals or teleport points, and even air transport took at least a day or two each trip.
For the players and for Lin Miao, that was unacceptable—way too much of a time sink.
So, Lin Miao decided to set up a respawn point and rest area in Cuba.
This would also help ease the problem of Night City having too many players. After all, the number of players was about to break into five digits; once that happened, Night City was probably going to get turned upside down.
Dozens of new slots a day might sound like nothing, but once enough time passes, it gets terrifying.
He went to the official forum, fingers tapping on the keyboard, to prepare the latest version preview. The previous closed beta format was no longer suitable to keep going.
[Beta Version Preview: The Division / Crysis]
[Shui: Dear players, it's already been four months since the last version update—surely you must all miss me terribly by now?
I wonder how everyone's experience has been with 0.7, this Dog Town–themed version. If you have time, you can give the dev team a rating, such as [Satisfied], [Very Satisfied], [Extremely Satisfied], along with your feedback,
so it'll be easier for our dev team to plan the content for the next few versions.
Your encouragement is the driving force that keeps us updating.]
As soon as the rainbow-flavored first floor was posted, not even one second had passed before the thread was instantly flooded with players rushing in. If floor-snatching weren't disabled, this thing would probably have shot up a few hundred floors in a couple of minutes.
[Silver Hair: Negative review! Always negative review! I'll only remove it when the R18 MOD is unlocked! I want close contact with the ladies!]
[Silver Hair Natural Residence has been muted]
[Mongolian Toplaner: BYD, so you only give "satisfied" options? Negative review! Negative review! I'm going to complain to 12315! I'll sue you all the way to the central government! CH! NM***]
[Mongolian Toplaner has been muted]
[Wildman: 666, you guys really have guts, going lewd and flaming the dev right under this kind of announcement post]
[Brother Dao: The Dog Town version really was a bit too packed. Smuggling, Netherworld Dog, AI, and we even cleared out every gang in the city. Felt like we swept it from start to finish, just short of taking down the company itself. Plus the Taiping Continent arc isn't even done yet. Next version should be more chill, right? I can't even win the queue for the newspaper stand every day.]
[Publicity Department: Chill? The agency just got blown up by Cuban missiles and you still want to chill? Super Earth will crush all enemies who refuse managed democracy! Tatakae! Ichimou tatakae!]
[cop: Good thing we evacuated Nia and the others in advance. With the blockade around, there weren't many casualties. Otherwise this blood feud would be irreconcilable!]
[Brother Dao: You all know it's Cuba, but how do we even get there from so far away? We can't exactly stand in the aisle of a train the whole way, right?]
[Sword Saint: Not necessarily. Didn't the pro say he was going to unlock a new map? Er Zhuzi said all the voices he heard on those cameras were speaking Mexican Spanish. The next version might really be set in Cuba, and doesn't the Giant have hovercars?]
[Brother Ni: +1. Look at the version title: Crysis + The Division. It's almost guaranteed to have something to do with Cuba.]
[Sword Saint: Not Bolivia? Not Bolivia? Whatever! Beyond the sea, everyone is an enemy!] 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
[Dump Truck: I'd be fine with a Division-style map too. Just look at Ubisoft's clown act—those big IPs in their hands are almost rotten into literal crap. What kind of rancid dogshit have they been serving up these past few years?]
[Jingluo Ecstasy: Why isn't it Istanbul!]
[Jing Luo Fury: I heard the Middle East got bombed back in the last century, maybe Istanbul got flattened by nukes too. Rome has fallen!]
[Jing Luo Tears: No!!!]
The players' enthusiasm was overwhelming.
And of course negative reviews were impossible—this lifetime there would never be negative reviews. Can't you see the whole thread full of glowing praise?
Lin Miao stated: Because I delete the bad reviews.
