Chapter 137: Bounty
"It is nice meeting those who rescued me. I go by the name Seraph Skye, an Elder of the Soul Peak division of the Soul Cross Sect. Nice to meet you."
Hearing his introduction, Bob and his wife were stunned for different reasons. Bob knew the prestigious Soul Cross Sect, as it had once been his dream to attend the sect.
Hence, when he heard that name again, it brought memories of his childhood. However, that nostalgia was quickly washed away by the revelation of this young man’s identity.
’An Elder of the Soul Cross Sect?’
He almost couldn’t believe it. How could someone so young become an elder? At least he had to be above 25 years before he could reach the level of power to become an elder, even if he was a genius.
And from the looks of it, this young man had probably just entered his early twenties. How could he be an Elder?
However, at the same time, Bob didn’t doubt Seraph’s words. After all, what was the use of lying to him? It wasn’t like Bob had anything special that Seraph coveted. Perhaps his wife... but that was completely unreasonable.
Still, he couldn’t help but wonder how exactly Seraph was an Elder while barely looking over twenty years old. If he knew that Seraph wasn’t even twenty, then who knows how stunned he might have been. Perhaps he would have fainted.
Meanwhile, Shenn was surprised for another reason. Although she didn’t know much about the Soul Cross Sect, she had heard her husband talk about it in the past
Hence, she knew the sect likely wasn’t a small one. However, what surprised her was that this man was affiliated with such a sect. If he was, then why was he injured and unconscious in someone this far from his sect?
Besides, considering that he was an elder, he was surely powerful enough. Why would he be unconscious in the middle of a ruin? A thought slipped through her mind, but she quickly dismissed it. It couldn’t be, right?
"Mommy, Daddy, what’s wrong?"
Seeing her parents fall silent for several minutes, Mira asked in a concerned voice. Was something off about the big uncle’s background?
Bob smiled and patted her head, "Of course, it’s nothing. We’re just surprised that our guest us from such a great power in the Orchid Province."
As he spoke, he directed his gaze at Seraph who was quietly eating while observing them.
Seraph waved casually. "You shouldn’t think too much about it. Background is something inconsequential."
Bob nodded, then introduced himself and his wife did the same. Then, he glanced at Mira, his gaze softening.
"Now I understand why you were able to give her a cultivation manual. Thank you for that."
Seraph nodded, then turned to Shenn. "The meal is nice. You’re a good cook."
It was only then that they noticed the young man had cleared his plate, leaving it pristine without any crumbs.
’He actually has such great appetite?’ The couple thought in unison.
"Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it." Shenn smiled at him.
Seraph nodded and his expression turned serious.
"I want to stay in your house for a while longer. Is that acceptable?"
The couple was visibly surprised, and they glanced at each other.
Seraph quickly continued. "Of course I’m not staying without giving anything. I’ll be responsible for helping your daughter cultivate, and I’ll also pay a gold spirit crystals per day."
The couple was stumped, and Bob quickly rejected the deal.
"No way! That’s too generous. A gold spirit crystal? Just because you want to stay?"
Seraph rolled his eyes, "You saved my life by bringing me to your house a week ago. Besides, you guys also took care of me while I was unconscious. Even if I pay you with a diamond spirit crystal, it won’t be enough."
"D-Diamond?" Bob felt like he was going to faint. Was this guy really serious? He had to be joking! Diamond spirit crystals were extremely rare, and probably only the royal family possessed them.
Shenn was just as surprised as her husband. No, even more. She wasn’t even aware that diamond spirit crystals existed. Even then, she could tell that it would be massively superior to the a gold spirit crystal.
Unknown to her, a single diamond spirit crystal could actually change the fate of her entire village.
Seeing that the husband and wife didn’t believe him, Seraph sighed but didn’t force it. There was no need to show them to prove his point. Besides, he understood that giving them too much money might attract unwanted attention. Even then, he was always here to deal with any nuisance.
’But when I eventually leave, they might face a harsh backlash.’
Since that was the case, he decided to reduce his offer.
"Alright, two gold spirit crystals per week. Is that acceptable?"
Bob still looked hesitant, but knowing what kind of situation his family was in, he eventually accepted. After all, he also wasn’t dumb, and he knew Seraph was being intentionally generous because he wanted to repay them for saving his life.
’I can simply save it up for our needs and clear off her remaining debts.’
Sighing in his heart, he continued eating. Meanwhile, Seraph stood up from the table and said to the family.
"Thank you for accommodating me. I’ll be going back to my room now."
Shenn smiled at him. "Enjoy your stay."
Bob also smiled and nodded, but once Seraph was out of sight, he turned to his wife with narrowed eyes.
"You aren’t thinking of liking him, right?"
Shenn’s expression froze, as if she had heard the most shocking thing in the world. Then, her expression twisted into rage, and she grasped Bob’s ear.
"You son of a-. What do you take me for? Hah?!"
Bob immediately shrank under her attack, his expression remorseful.
"I’m sorry, honey. I didn’t mean to offend you."
Seeing him genuinely sorry, Shenn’s heart softened, but she still maintained a cold facade.
"Hmph! I warned you to stop reading those books written by those guys. Did you just buy a new one? Hm?"
Bob hurriedly shook his head, completely submissive.
Mira giggled at the scene, after all, she was used to her parents’ playful banter.

Meanwhile, at the Village Chief’s house, they welcomed four guests this evening. Four extremely beautiful young women were led by the chief himself, and everyone could tell that he deeply respected the women.
After narrowly avoiding the death of one of his villagers, the chief had invited Sera and the others to his house out of courtesy. From the instant where the four young women entered the boundaries of his village, he had felt their powerful fluctuations of spiritual energy.
Hence, he immediately became alert and went searching for them.
What he didn’t expect was that some of his crude villagers would be trying to have the ladies in their bed. Such audacity and fearless! Was it because they couldn’t sense the strength of the ladies? After all, they were immensely weak compared to the powerful women.
Thankfully, the chief arrived in time and stopped what would have been a massacre.
When he invited the ladies, he was expecting them to refuse. After all, he could tell from their clothing that their background wasn’t ordinary. Although they had removed their disciple robes, their current clothing was still far more impressive than that of the chief was wearing.
The difference in status was glaringly obviously!
However, he was stunned when the lady with silver hair and blue eyes agreed. Even the other three ladies were surprised. However, regardless of their surprise and confusion, Ariana’s decision was firm.
That was how they ended up in the Village Chiefs house that night. They were served luxuriously at dinner, and the ladies had to compliment the chefs. They were surely good cooks!
Once the dinner was finished, Ariana requested to see the Village Chief, to which he quickly arrived as soon as he was informed. To avoid any problems with these powerful women, he was cautious and submissive.
"What do you need, esteemed guests?" He asked with a flattering smile on his face, his back hunched.
Ariana folded her arms, her expression cold. "We’re looking for a young man. He has white hair and rainbow eyes. Have you seen him before?"
The chief’s eyes narrowed. "I don’t think I have met any young man with white hair. However, that is completely normal as I haven’t been in every nook and cranny of the village in a while."
He chuckled, then patted his chest. "Leave it to me. I will help you find him and bring him to you."
"Don’t you dare touch him," Ariana’s eyes flared. ’He’s mine.’
The Village Chief was stunned by her sudden outburst, but immediately regained his composure.
"I understand, young Miss. I will simply find him and let you know of his whereabouts."
Ariana nodded, "Good."
The Village Chief didn’t delay anything at all and set to work. Judging by how fierce the young lady sounded, the man she was looking for was probably her enemy.
Hence, he made the search into a bounty search where whoever found Seraph would he given twenty silver spirit crystals.
