Chapter 139: Futile Search

Just as Seraph promised, he stayed indoors and quietly cultivated with diamond spirit crystals to improve his cultivation level as fast as he could.

Once it was evening time, he would come out for dinner, then tutor Mira about how to cultivate in a better, efficient way. Although he could have gone into a long-term closed door cultivation, Seraph didn’t. After all, he had that girl to tutor.

And speaking of that girl, she had quite some talent, as she was able to grasp his explanations quickly, even though she sometimes failed to execute them.

However, that was fine. She was still a child, after all. So, Seraph spent three days in their house, cultivating, eating, and teaching their little girl.

Today, the fourth day, was just like any other. Hearing Mira knock and tell him food was ready, he stopped cultivating and stood up.

After taking care of his appearance, he came out of his room and headed to the dining area.

Even before he reached there, he could hear the couple discussing something. And from the looks of it...

"Oh? Someone is searching for me?"

He asked as he took his seat, causing the two to flinch.

Bob’s lips twitched when he realized he hadn’t even sensed him approaching until he pulled his chair to seat.

’Sigh... power is really great.’

Turning to Seraph, his expression turned serious and he began to speak about what had happened.

"Actually, it started three days ago. I heard rumors that they were looking for someone in the village.white hair and rainbow eyes. At first, I didn’t think it was you, and even forgot about the search for the next two days."

He paused, checking to see Seraph’s reaction. However, the young man wasn’t moved in the slightest. He kept looking at Bob with an amused smile, waiting for him to continue.

So, he did. "I don’t know why they were looking, but when I went outside today again, I realized it was actually an important bounty and everyone was scrambling around to search for the person."

Shenn’s face was a mask of caution and confusion as she listened to her husband. She tried to understand why there would be a bounty over Seraph’s head, but couldn’t find any.

Suddenly, Seraph laughed. It was a small, soft laugh, but it lightened the mood.

"I can understand your worries. Simply keep mute of my existence. And if they manage to find out I’m here, then I will deal with them."

The couple gasped and looked at him with eyes of admiration. What kind of confidence was that?

Without even knowing who was searching for him, he firmly believed he could deal with them. This... was nothing short of confidence bordering on arrogance.

Still, Bob had no objections. He nodded to Seraph’s words and began to eat just like the others at the table. Soon, the gloomy mood vanished, and they all began chatting at the table.

After dinner was consumed, Seraph took Mira to the living room and made her sit in a meditating position on the ground.

Then, he began to instruct her.

"You can feel the spiritual energy in the air more clearly now, right? What I want you to do is try to suck that spiritual energy closer to you and into your body."

"Mn!"

Mira nodded energetically, then immediately became focused. However, for the next few minutes, nothing happened.

Sighing, Seraph shook his head and corrected her. "You’re trying too hard. Cultivation does not work when you force spiritual energy. It only happens when you direct it. Don’t grit your teeth, okay? Be relaxed."

Mira took a deep breath, her flat chest expanding before she exhaled.

"Good. Now, I’m about to assist you, but only this once. You need to grasp the feeling."

Saying that, he raised a hand and slowly willed the surrounding spiritual energy to approach Mira.

The air trembled faintly, and the girl’s brows furrowed. It seemed she sensed the spiritual energy and was actively trying to reach out to it.

’Smart girl.’

Soon, under Seraph’s guidance and her acts of attraction, spiritual energy began to trickle into her meridians, rushing straight to her core. Although the process could not be compared to how Seraph cultivated when he was her age.

After ten minutes, Seraph gradually stopped intervening and let the girl attract spiritual energy into her body by herself.

Just as he expected, she was able to continue even without his help, and her body was slowly being filled to the brim with spiritual energy.

’Good. At this rate, she’ll break through to the Initial Beginner Stage by tomorrow night.’

Approximately thirty minutes later, the girl stopped cultivating and was panting. Her body was soaked in sweat, and she looked dizzy.

’It seems that’s her limit for now. Hm, not bad for a child.’

He thought, then lifted the girl carefully.

He carried her to her parents who were still awake, and the family of three immediately went to their room to sleep with the daughter between her parents.

Seraph watched them leave for a few seconds, then lowered his head. That must have been how his family was, right? Before he was born. Clem Skye, Kara Skye, and Yelena Skye.

Brushing off those thoughts, Seraph returned to his room to cultivate. However, he didn’t start immediately. Reaching to his neck, his fingers brushed against a necklace that had once meant everything to him.

"This world is really tiring..."

Shaking his head with a lost smile, Seraph closed his eyes and began cultivate.

.........

Meanwhile, over the past four days, Sera, Dera, Ariana, and Tamar hadn’t stayed idle. They had also been trying to find Seraph, but it was to no avail. They didn’t even find a shadow of him at all.

"Was the Sect Master playing a prank with us? Is Seraph not here?" Dera asked, her tone unusually cold.

After days of futile search, she was already annoyed greatly. Today was the fifth day, yet there was not even a trace of him.

"The Sect Master wouldn’t play such a game. What he said is definitely true." Ariana said firmly, surprising the others.

"Hm, I believe you," Sera nodded. "But perhaps we’re the ones making a mistake. Is it this exact village? Or another one?"

Tamar, the quiet one, spoke. "I’ve already made my research. But this is the only village in this aream the rest are just sects or small clans."

"Sigh, that leaves us at a goddamn dead end." Dera gritted her teeth in frustration.

She didn’t know what that guy was going through, so she was anxious to find him and protect him. However, she didn’t know that at the moment, Seraph didn’t need protection.

After all, he was living well, eating free food cooked by another man’s wife and acting as a teacher for what was less than an hour daily.

Except for the emotional factor, Seraph was completely fine.

"Have you heard of the Reaper Ruins? I think we should take a break today and check it out."

Ariana suggested, looking straight at Dera. The black-haired girl was confused for a moment, then she smiled.

"Hahaha! Thank you!"

Patting Ariana’s shoulder with an excited gleam in her eyes, she looked eager to go. There was naturally a reason for her eagerness. Her pent up frustration was high, and she needed to vent.

Who would she vent on, though?

Almost everyone in the village now recognized them, so nobody came to look for their trouble. Therefore, Dera couldn’t casually go around looking for trouble.

However, things would be different once they arrived at the location of the ruins. It was a place where different cultivators gathered, so there would surely be some sort of conflict that Dera would gladly welcome.

"You brute." Sera snorted at her sister’s attitude but said nothing else.

The four young ladies immediately got themselves prepared and set out to the Reaper Ruins. The Village Chief tried dissuading them since he felt that it was too chaotic over there. Besides, most of the real goodies had been taken b him.

Still, they ignored him and went there. After all, their goal wasn’t some special treasure owned by the Reapers. They were simply going there to take a day off and let Dera vent her frustration.

To the Hudson Village, the ruins was not far at all. In less than ten minutes, they already arrived at the place and could see several factions were present.

Some sects brought several of their top disciples for a treasure hunt experience, while others were merely curious just like Ariana. Everyone stayed some distance away from each other to avoid conflict, choosing to search different areas.

But naturally, conflict was unavoidable.

Just a few minutes after the four young ladies arrived, they already drew over a hundred gazes of curiosity, indifference, interest, hate, envy, lust, and others.

It was impossible for them not to notice. However, they ignored everything and treated everyone like air.

Soon, what Dera had been waiting for finally arrived. A middle aged man with a thick goatee departed from his group and approached them with a cunning smile.
