Playing inventor in a cultivation world
Chapter 83: Break them (1)
"Sure! It’s been a while we all went on a joint mission, after all."
Ariana quickly agreed with a bright expression.
The others nodded one after the other, expressing their agreement.
"Alright."
Seraph smiled, and they resumed sharing jokes and chatting.
When it was evening time, Seraph and Sylvia left the Winter Peak and returned to Soul Peak.
Seraph visited his room which had remain untouched ever since he had started helping Elder Song remove the poison in her body.
"Ah... it’s really nostalgic."
He smiled, spreading his arms as he lay on the bed. It felt simple and comfortable. Not like the extravagant king-sized bed that Elder Song had given him.
"Oh well..."
Closing his eyes, he dived into his mind space.
His expression was cold and unfriendly as he looked at the cube before him.
["Why have you come running to me again?"]
Seraph scoffed at its condescending voice. "I don’t need anything from you. I just want to be here. What? Does that affect you?"
Ignoring it, he brought up the system interface.
[Balance: 17,830 Divine Credits]
Seraph’s eyes glinted. This was a massive amount, meaning that his invention had not only spread in the sect, but also from his clan.
"Good."
Nodding, he rolled his shoulders and brought up the shop interface.
[Dragon Bone Transformation - 5,000 Divine Credits]
[Qilin Scales Transformation - 4,000 Divine Credits]
[Lightning Flash Technique - 1,400 Divine Credits]
[Life Element Cultivation Manual - 10,000 Divine Credits]
[Blood Element Cultivation Manual - 2,000 Divine Credits]
[Power Boost Forbidden Pill - 1,000 Divine Credits]
[Fire Domain Technique - 3,000 Divine Credits]
Looking at the list, Seraph had to make wise decisions clearly. He had been saving up these Divine Credits for years, all for the purpose of adding useful things into his arsenal.
The most important on the list was the Life Element Cultivation Manual.
Life element was not a deadly element that could harm enemies, but it was a necessary element that could heal any kind of would as long as there was sufficient spiritual energy.
Seraph wanted something like that, so he could heal his own injuries by himself. Although he could reply on pills, they were not as reliable as the cultivation manual of the Life element itself.
So, he bought it. His balance plummeted by a large margin, and a set of instructions appeared in his mind.
’To avoid copyright, huh? So I won’t teach others?’
Seraph chuckled, then looked at the list again. Another one he desired was the Blood element.
All living beings had blood, and as long as he was facing living beings, he could have easy access to blood. Also, he knew how broken abilities relating to blood were.
All this fueled his desire to get it too. After buying, the information appeared in his mind too, and he nodded.
’A Fire Domain Technique or that Lightning Flash?’
He was at a dilemma, wondering what he should choose. The domain technique was surely going to be powerful, but the speed technique sounded equally stunning.
’Hmmm...’
Just as he was beginning to wonder which one he should purchase, Halo chipped in, sounding sincere.
["You should buy the Lightning Flash Technique. It’ll surely help you move like a horse in the wind, and your speed will be unparalleled. Surely, you mustn’t doubt me. It is the best choice."]
Despite the ’sincerity’ in its tone, Seraph bought the Fire Domain Technique instead.
["What? You idiot! Chosing that weak technique that can only burn enemies around you. Hmph, you’ll learn your lesson soon!"]
Ignoring its displeasure, Seraph looked at his available balance.
[Balance: 2,830 Divine Credits]
It was pitifully low compared to what was there previously, but he wasn’t really concerned.
Instead, he returned to the real world and closed his eyes to rest.
’When last... have I had a natural sleep like this...’
The next morning came faster than he expected, and he immediately wore his robes and left the building.
Sylvia was already outside, waiting for him. There were a few inner court disciples who were loitering around, and when they saw him come out of the building, they were stunned.
"It’s true! Brother Cang wasn’t lying when he said he saw Senior Brother Seraph yesterday!"
"Indeed! He must be back from closed-door cultivation."
"Hehe... are we about to experience another shocking feat?"
Seraph and Sylvia ignored them all, and headed straight to a section reserved only for the Core Court disciples.
Although the Soul Peak didn’t discriminate between the disciples, the Core Disciples were still treated slightly better and had their private training area.
When Seraph and Sylvia arrived, everyone turned to them one by one. The core disciples were not much, only thirty-two in number including Seraph and Sylvia.
"Yo! Sylvia! Eh? Seraph?!"
One lady waved at Sylvia, only to stiffen when she spotted Seraph beside her.
"Huh? Seraph?"
The others also looked around and saw him, their faces hardening.
"Hm."
Seraph nodded, his gaze sweeping past them. He recognized every single one, and remembered their respective personalities.
"Damnit. I told Faga that we shouldn’t abolish ’his’ rule just because he went into closed-door cultivation."
Someone mumbled to himself, but Seraph caught the whisper.
"Oh?"
A smile appeared in his face. He walked up to the disciple who was mumbling with a dark expression, and tapped on his shoulder.
"W-what?"
Startled, the disciple jumped back, looking at Seraph with wide eyes.
"Where is Faga? I don’t see him around. Tell him to come meet me here now. Including the other two."
The disciple’s jaw clenched, and he nodded before running off to the golden dormitory.
Someone hesitantly approached Kaiser. A black-haired young man with a calm expression.
"Brother Seraph... are you... going to stop them again?"
His name was Felix, and he was one of the disciples that were acquainted with Seraph.
The white-haired young man smiled at him. "Not stop them. Break them."
Felix shivered, and so did everyone else who had heard his words. Even Sylvia gulped nervously.
In a few minutes, the timid disciples returned with three tough-looking disciples who had arrogant expressions on their faces.
