Chapter 883: Who is the Monarch? Tyranitar vs Regirock

The culprit behind drawing out Regirock and causing the desert to erupt into chaos was naturally Terrance and his group.

A few minutes before Regirock appeared, Terrance and the others had still been gathered together having a meal...

"Hmm... I say, Pupitar, everyone is eating together, so don’t just eat rocks. We even prepared your share here. Want to drink some juice to help with digestion?"

Terrance sat cross-legged on the ground and, as usual before eating, called out to Pupitar, who had been "working hard in training."

This time, however, something happened that surprised Terrance. Pupitar’s response was no longer the usual crunching sounds, but instead a shrill cry.

"Pupi——————"

That cry contained complex emotions, but Terrance could clearly hear excitement within it...

Even so, the sudden shout almost made Terrance and the other Pokémon spit out the food in their mouths in shock.

Gardevoir immediately spread Confusion over the area below. Through Telepathy, Terrance saw that Pupitar had dug out something that looked similar to an evolutionary stone.

But Terrance was certain that no such yellow-brown evolutionary stone existed, and its size was far larger than any normal evolutionary stone.

"Is the secret of the ruins this stone?"

Observing the stone embedded underground, Terrance frowned. Pupitar was still excitedly digging, seemingly eager to dig it out. Terrance simply watched quietly and did not stop it.

But once that stone began to break free from the ground, the ruins were destined to lose their peace.

During Pupitar’s excavation, a huge disturbance came from outside. A familiar voice reached Terrance’s ears, instantly changing his expression.

"Reg~irock---------"

"Reg~irock---------"

The piercing roar and the howling of the sandstorm directly penetrated the ruins, allowing Terrance inside to clearly sense the violent turmoil outside.

The visitor meant trouble!

"That sound... could it be Regirock!?"

Seeing countless grains of sand already falling from the ceiling, Terrance frowned deeply. He knew he couldn’t just wait any longer. He glanced deeply at where Pupitar was digging, seeming to understand why Regirock had come.

"We’re still inside the ruins. If Regirock keeps this up, the entire ruin will collapse! We have to stop it!"

The moment Terrance made up his mind, aside from Pupitar, he, Gardevoir, Beautifly, Ninetales, Castform, and Gallade instantly appeared in the sky outside, looking down at the Regirock that had already stirred up a sandstorm and was about to launch a fierce attack.

"So it really is you!"

Seeing Regirock’s appearance, Terrance let out a breath. Although its body had become even more robust and its form more complete, Terrance was sure he had not mistaken it. This was the same Regirock he had battled before!

"But what’s with all those Pokémon in the distance? Just here to watch the show? Or are they all here for that stone?"

The other Pokémon were still far away, and their strength was nothing to worry about, so Terrance ignored them for the moment. Instead, he observed the powerful sandstorm swirling around Regirock and suddenly narrowed his eyes.

Four years ago, when Regirock had just revived and had lost part of its power, it had still chased him and the Trainers of the Dream Come True Adventure Team around, beating them mercilessly. Now, however, Regirock seemed to have fully recovered. Perhaps it was even stronger than before it had been sealed.

"With this Regirock’s strength, if there are rocks around, its special ability to devour rocks and endlessly restore its stamina means only the main Pokémon of Top Trainers can deal with it. Back then we managed to drive away the heavily damaged Regirock with a bit of trickery... I have to say, that was really thrilling."

Terrance rubbed his nose and revealed a nostalgic smile.

This time, facing this Legendary Pokémon, the situation was no longer the same as before.

"Whether it’s Gardevoir, Ninetales, Gallade, Castform, or Beautifly, any of them could deal with it. But in this situation, Castform and Gardevoir are the most suitable. So first, let’s see just how much it has improved over these four years."

The moment Terrance gave the command, Castform stirred up a violent sandstorm and swept it forward. At the same instant, Regirock was pinned down by powerful psychic power, then helplessly overturned by the gigantic sandstorm it had created itself.

As Regirock fell, countless grains of sand were flung into the air, and an even louder crash echoed out.

For a Rock-type Legendary Pokémon, being flipped over by a sandstorm was an extremely embarrassing sight.

In the distance, the four-member adventure team that had rushed over in panic stared at the scene with their mouths wide open, unintentionally swallowing mouthfuls of sand.

"What’s going on? It looks like... Regirock was attacked..."

The power of the sandstorm Regirock had summoned had almost frightened them too much to even face it. This was a massive sandstorm—the desert’s grim reaper. Yet in just an instant, Regirock had been overturned by the very sandstorm it had created?!!

"It seems like... someone..."

At that moment, the man with white-framed glasses quickly pulled out a pair of binoculars and looked toward the sky above the ruins, then revealed an expression of disbelief. There really was a human there, and beside him were several Pokémon...

He was almost certain that the one who attacked Regirock was that Trainer!

"But how is that possible..."

Just as the four of them were still in shock, Regirock erupted in fury.

First it had been ambushed, then it had lost control of the sandstorm and been flipped over by its own sandstorm power. Regirock’s anger surged. The "H"-shaped pattern formed by seven orange dots on the front of its head lit up rapidly, and then it let out a furious roar.

In the next moment, it grew even more enraged, because Regirock sensed that something seemingly very important to it was slowly disappearing...

"Reg~irock--------"

Dragging its body violently upright, Regirock didn’t even glance forward. It quickly grabbed the raging sand in the air, clenched it tightly, and hurled it forward with force.

Each ordinary grain of sand, under Regirock’s swing, exploded with the power of bullets, but all of them were stopped midair by Castform.

"Regirock, you can’t pass beyond this point," Terrance grinned. He had spent nearly three months for that stone. There was no way he would give it up easily.

However, feeling the fatal temptation coming from ahead, Regirock had no idea what retreat meant and charged forward crazily.

In the next instant, two enormous sandstorms collided with each other, erupting with earth-shaking force. Castform slowly rose into the air and confronted Regirock.

"You’ve got to be kidding... that’s a Legendary Pokémon, Regirock!!"

"And the one fighting against it is such a tiny Castform?!!!" The man with the white-framed glasses stood frozen in place, seemingly not frightened by the powerful sandstorm, but by the power displayed by that Trainer.

"Quick, give me the binoculars—"

"I want to see too!!"

As they fought over the binoculars, the situation changed once again. Before even Terrance could react, a deafening roar erupted from within the ruins.

At that moment, Terrance’s expression changed slightly. Realizing what had happened, he quickly looked over with Gardevoir’s Confusion and Telepathy.

There, a ferocious Pokémon appeared in his sight—standing on two legs, with black diamond shapes on both sides of its waist, black stripes beneath its eyes, and a blue abdomen. Behind it swung a tail lined with thick, sharp spikes.

"Tyranitar... how could this be! Where did the stone go?" Terrance’s expression turned complicated. Seeing the suddenly appearing Tyranitar, a conclusion had already formed in his mind. Pupitar had eaten that mysterious rock and evolved.

Looking at Tyranitar stuck inside the pit, struggling wildly, Terrance was just about to go help it when Regirock once again whipped up a sandstorm and charged over. This time, Regirock’s attack was even more ferocious. It seemed to have sensed that something had happened and launched the assault with intense fury.

However, what Terrance had not expected was that the sandstorm didn’t wait for Castform to block it. Instead, as if on a pilgrimage, it surged madly toward the ruins, toward the pit!!!

After countless sandstorms surged in, they all flew together toward Tyranitar. Through Gardevoir’s perspective, Terrance saw the changes beneath the ground. As Tyranitar rampaged, the sandstorms rapidly condensed and actually lifted this monster-level creature directly up...

"With the appearance of the Sand Stream Ability, Tyranitar’s control over sandstorms has become even more terrifying... but Tyranitar’s condition seems a bit off."

After emerging from the pit, Tyranitar swung its tail, seemingly intending to smash apart the ruins and walk out. Under its control, the power of the sandstorm became an extremely terrifying weapon, making Tyranitar look incredibly fearsome.

As the noise from within the ruins spread out, Terrance’s side and Regirock both fell silent in unspoken agreement. They all looked toward the sandstorm beast that had broken open an exit and was slowly walking out—Tyranitar!!

"Tyranitar!!" Terrance couldn’t help but shout. At the same time, Tyranitar turned its head at the sound and looked over, meeting Terrance’s gaze. In the next moment, Terrance smiled slightly.

It seemed he had been worrying too much.

Tyranitar had sensed the disturbance outside and, worried about his safety, had forced its way out in a frenzy.

"Tyra~nitar!!!!" Shifting its gaze away from Terrance, Tyranitar looked back toward the aggressive Regirock and let out a loud roar. For some reason, it felt an inexplicable disgust toward Regirock!

"Reg~irock--------" Similarly, upon seeing Tyranitar appear, Regirock seemed to have finally found the source of its agitation. With a heavy stomp, the ground sank, and countless sharp stones burst out, hurtling rapidly toward Tyranitar!!

At that moment, countless grains of sand swirled around Tyranitar and Regirock. These two beasts that seemed to have walked out of the sandstorm had already begun battling fiercely!!

"Don’t move." Seeing Castform preparing to go help Tyranitar, Terrance shook his head and said, "Tyranitar wants to test its own strength. This is an opportunity. Battling Regirock will allow Tyranitar to quickly become familiar with its power. At the same time..."

Terrance revealed a smile.

"It will also determine who the true monarch of this desert is."
