Chapter 885: Castform and Ninetales Goes Into Battle
That ferocious slash caught Regirock completely off guard. Even though it quickly reinforced itself with Iron Defense and raised its arms to block, it was still sent flying by the violent force!!
Entering the Outrage state and unleashing its true nature as the behemoth of the sandstorm, this Tyranitar—whose weight was more than three times that of an ordinary member of its species—used the terrifying power of the sandstorm to propel itself forward, executing an astonishing sword drawing technique with overwhelming force. Terrance’s Tyranitar displayed the brutal nature that ordinary Trainers’ Tyranitar could never show. This was the sandstorm beast… this was Tyranitar!! In a single exchange, it blasted Regirock away!! 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
And it wasn’t just a simple knockback. With the sounds of “Bang!” “Bang!” echoing out, Regirock’s massive body slammed straight into the ruins. Because of the tremendous force behind Tyranitar’s strike, it smashed through wall after wall until it was finally buried beneath rocks, only then did the commotion stop. Seeing this scene, Terrance was surprised and began to worry about Tyranitar.
“That slash was certainly brilliant, but knocking Regirock back in that direction wasn’t a wise choice.” Regirock possessed the ability to devour rocks to recover from its injuries. Although that strike had been terrifying and caused it heavy damage, if it managed to reach enough rocks, then Tyranitar’s attack would have been wasted.
Moreover, Tyranitar’s current state made Terrance very concerned. Having only just mastered Outrage, Tyranitar still couldn’t properly control this power and could only hold on through sheer willpower. It was extremely dangerous. On top of that, the technique of enhancing its mobility with the power of the sandstorm consumed enormous energy, and it likely wouldn’t be able to maintain it for long.
As Regirock fell, Tyranitar tried to press the attack, rushing forward with countless sandstorms swirling around it. However, the situation Terrance feared soon appeared. The next moment, an astonishing fluctuation erupted from where Regirock lay. It swept through the dust and rocks in the sky, swallowing Tyranitar whole.
This was… Explosion! Regirock had chosen to self-destruct!! Even Tyranitar found it difficult to resist this even more violent power and was ruthlessly swept into the blast!!
Before the power of the explosion could spread further, a flash of light appeared. Tyranitar, which had been caught inside the explosion, was quickly rescued by Gardevoir. However, after enduring part of the blast’s force and the excessive exhaustion from earlier, Tyranitar had already fallen unconscious.
Looking at Tyranitar, which still revealed a ferocious expression even in unconsciousness, Terrance nodded in satisfaction.
“You’ve already done very well. Although we can’t defeat it yet, I promise that within three months, it won’t be your opponent anymore!!”
Because it had just evolved, Tyranitar still couldn’t adapt to this heavy body and the newly obtained power, and it simply couldn’t display its full combat strength. The next period of time would be a phase where its strength exploded in growth. Moreover, the stone that Tyranitar had swallowed also greatly concerned Terrance. It probably hid a major secret as well, but now was not the time to investigate it.
After Gardevoir’s Heal Pulse wrapped around Tyranitar, Terrance recalled it into its Poké Ball so it could rest properly. Experiencing such a fierce battle immediately after evolving was indeed too much. However, if Regirock hadn’t had rocks nearby to repair its injuries, it likely would have already been defeated by that slash. From this point alone, Tyranitar had fully displayed its terrifying might.
Over at the ruins, although Regirock had used Explosion, it had done so with careful calculation. It was confident that even after self-destructing it could recover quickly. When countless fragments of stone fell around it, they seemed to be drawn by a powerful suction force and rapidly fused into Regirock’s body.
As the stones merged into it, Regirock struggled to stand up and continued frantically devouring the surrounding rocks. In less than a minute, its stamina had almost completely recovered.
“This ability is indeed useful, but the limitations are also huge. If it could recover stamina by devouring the air, it would be invincible…”
Terrance calmly watched Regirock restore its stamina and made no attempt to stop it.
When Regirock had completely recovered and turned back toward Terrance with a furious roar, the four adventurers almost stuttered themselves speechless.
“Th–this… it can still stand up? That’s too exaggerated. Even that terrifying Tyranitar has already fallen.”
“After all, Regirock is an Eternal Pokémon. Its abilities are extremely rare and hard to deal with. But don’t worry, we only need photos. We absolutely won’t provoke it!” said the muscular man carrying the video camera equipment in a serious tone. “But what about that Trainer? He’s so close. Regirock will probably lock onto him. In the desert, that Regirock is basically an invincible existence.”
Even without using its ability to devour rocks to restore stamina, this Regirock possessed tremendous combat power. Even ordinary veteran Trainers would have to go all out to deal with it, and only Top Trainers could reliably suppress it. A being like this, fighting on its own territory, it wasn’t unreasonable for the adventurers to be worried… In their eyes, this Regirock was already an unbeatable legendary creature!!
Terrance naturally had no idea what the adventurers watching the battle were worrying about. When he saw Regirock stand up and noticed its determined gaze, he immediately smiled knowingly.
The reason he hadn’t taken the chance to leave was because Terrance wanted to completely defeat this guy, to prove his growth over the past four years.
“Let’s battle.”
With a wave of his hand, Castform and Ninetales entered the fight together. This time, Castform didn’t use the power of the sandstorm to face Regirock. Instead, it summoned rain clouds.
In an instant, the Rainy Weather that Castform had studied to the utmost descended with a rumble!! Torrential rain directly overwhelmed the sandstorm, completely preventing Regirock from sensing even the slightest trace of sandstorm power.
“Boom—boom—boom—”
The next moment, the sky rumbled. The dark clouds grew even larger, and darkness instantly shrouded the area. At this moment, the desert looked as if it had encountered a natural disaster. Even though the bean-sized raindrops had not yet fallen onto Regirock, it had already sensed the terrifying might.
“Regi~rock——”
After sensing this astonishing power, Regirock began to hesitate. Especially after realizing that the energy that had attracted it had disappeared, Regirock no longer wanted to engage in a meaningless battle.
But in its hesitation, Regirock made a move that it would soon deeply regret. It chose to resist and try attacking the one who had created the Rain Weather. However, before it could make any major move, a thunderbolt exploded down from the sky!!
This thunderclap terrified the countless desert-dwelling Pokémon surrounding this place, as well as the four adventurers. Their eyes lost their focus, their hearts pounded wildly, and they felt as if they were about to die.
