Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League
Chapter 238: Encounters Across Time (1)
Johto region.
Forty years ago.
A traveling boy arrived at the entrance of a strange forest.
The entrance to this forest was unique; it was formed by a large tree hollowed into a tunnel that narrowed from the outside in.
"Are you going into the forest?"
Just as the boy was examining the tunnel, a pleasant female voice rang out from above.
The boy looked up and saw a green-haired girl running down from a nearly ninety-degree tree trunk.
"If you hear the forest's voice, you must not move around," the girl cautioned the boy.
"Huh?"
The boy looked confused at this warning.
"This is a legend in the village!"
"What does 'forest's voice' mean?"
"Sometimes, after entering the forest, you can hear an incredible sound. That is the sound made by the forest's guardian when it travels through time."
"Travels through time?"
"That's right. The forest's guardian seems to possess the power to travel through time, so to avoid intruding into other eras, you must absolutely not move when you hear the forest's voice, understand?" the girl said earnestly.
"Okay, I'll be careful."
After the boy nodded in understanding, he walked into the forest.
Meanwhile, deep in the forest.
A wounded Celebi was being chased by a vicious Houndoom and a Scyther.
Just after Celebi was knocked down by these two Pokemon, a one-eyed middle-aged man appeared before Celebi, riding a motorcycle with a cage.
"Although I let you escape in the forest of Mino, this time you won't get away."
Saying this, the man threw an electrified capture device at Celebi.
Seeing the situation was bad, Celebi quickly got up and flew in another direction.
The man commanded the two Pokemon to pursue relentlessly.
Somewhere, a boy who was observing a Bellossom suddenly heard a cry for help.
The next moment, several Pokemon burst out of the bushes on the side, followed by the wounded Celebi, and finally, the Scyther and Houndoom.
This sudden scene left the boy confused. He followed with questions in mind, only to see Celebi being pinned to the ground by the Scyther, while the Houndoom stood directly in front of Celebi, staring at it hungrily.
"Stop! Two against one is too despicable!" the boy shouted in a hurry.
As soon as he finished speaking, the Houndoom sprayed a blast of flames at him.
Taking advantage of the two Pokemon's distraction, Celebi used the Growth skill to sprout some vines to entangle the two Pokémon.
After breaking free from the restraints, Celebi flew unsteadily into the boy's arms.
"Call that Celebi out!"
At this moment, the man chasing Celebi also arrived on his motorcycle.
"Celebi? Do you mean this one? There is no way I will hand it over to a cruel person like you!"
The boy held Celebi and ran deep into the forest.
As he ran, Celebi suddenly looked up and cried out.
"Celebi!"
Subsequently, the leaves of the surrounding trees instantly turned light blue.
When he ran to a shrine, the boy stopped, and then Celebi's whole body emitted a white light that enveloped him.
...
Forty years later.
In a desolate valley somewhere.
The hunter who chased Celebi had now become a white-haired old man.
However, at this moment, his home had an uninvited guest.
The clothes this uninvited guest wore had a large 'R' on them; clearly, this was another member of Team Rockets.
"Tell me the location of the forest where you chased Celebi forty years ago, quickly!"
"It is my prey; I will not tell anyone!"
"Hmph, let's see how long you can keep your mouth shut."
This burly man from Team Rockets dragged the old hunter out of the house.
This old hunter was actually quite capable; there were many iron cages imprisoning Pokémon next to the house, and the most conspicuous one contained a Tyranitar.
The burly man pointed at the Tyranitar's cage, and a Sneasel behind him quickly stepped forward and cut the iron bars of the cage.
The imprisoned Tyranitar walked out of the cage timidly, completely lacking the majesty of a Quasi-Legendary Pokémon, giving the feeling of a frightened little beast.
The burly man took a pitch-black Poké Ball from the special vest on his chest.
"That... that is..."
The old hunter looked at the Poké Ball in confusion.
"Dark Pokemon Ball! This is the organization's latest achievement. Let me show you its power! Go, Dark Pokemon Ball."
The burly man threw the Poké Ball in his hand at the Tyranitar.
The moment the Poké Ball touched the Tyranitar, it forcibly captured it.
"This Poké Ball can make the captured Pokemon become evil, raising its power to the maximum limit."
"Come out, Evil Tyranitar!"
After being released, the Tyranitar's eyes became fierce.
"Evil Tyranitar, destroy everything to your heart's content!"
Following the burly man's command, the Tyranitar opened its mouth and released a Hyper Beam at its surroundings.
In less than a minute, the old hunter's camp became a sea of fire.
The old hunter could not believe his eyes, "Ah, how could this be, my Tyranitar!"
"Stop it quickly, I'll tell you, I'll tell you where that forest is!"
"Should have said that sooner! Why waste my time!"
...
Meanwhile.
After obtaining the Glacier Badge, Ash's group was heading towards Blackthorn City and arrived at a town, preparing to take a boat to speed up the journey.
Toot!
With the sound of the ship's whistle, the ferry was about to depart.
Brock looked at the pier entrance and wondered, "What on earth is Ash doing? If this boat leaves, the next one will take at least three days."
"I guess he ran into another opponent and is battling. Isn't he training Phanpy?" Misty shrugged helplessly.
She paused and continued, "However, it doesn't matter if we miss this boat. Ash has his own yacht; this river is wide enough, it won't be a problem."
"Speaking of the yacht, I realized I haven't even sat in it yet!" Brock said with regret.
"That can't be helped. Who told you to insist on staying at Professor Ivy's Laboratory before? Oh, right, not only have you not sat in the yacht, but you also haven't enjoyed the travel expenses reimbursed by Professor Oak. I remember that in the end, Ash was reimbursed over five million!"
Misty's cutting remarks successfully broke Brock's defense, turning his background into a gloomy gray again.
After being gloomy for a few seconds, Brock took out a Poké Ball and said, "Crobat, please go find Ash and tell him to hurry over!"
Misty's guess was not wrong. Ash was currently accepting a battle invitation from a Croconaw Trainer.
And the Pokemon Ash used to deal with it was indeed Phanpy.
"Phanpy, go! Use Rollout!"
Phanpy curled into a ball and rammed towards the Croconaw. The Croconaw spat out Water Gun to meet it, but Phanpy was fast and bumped into the Croconaw while swaying left and right.
The hit Croconaw swayed its body and continued to spray Water Gun at Phanpy, who maintained its Rollout posture.
Phanpy's evasion ability was maxed out, and the Croconaw's low-frequency Water Gun moves had no effect on it. As the number of times the Water Gun move was used increased, the Croconaw's physical strength gradually decreased.
After Phanpy maintained Rollout and rammed four times in a row, it successfully defeated the Croconaw despite the type disadvantage.
Just when Ash was about to say something, Brock's Crobat found him.
The moment he saw Crobat, Ash remembered that the ship was about to leave. He hurriedly put away the food he had bought and ran towards the pier.
Seeing Ash rushing over, Brock and Misty, who were waiting by the ship, breathed a sigh of relief and turned to board the ship.
Just as they stepped onto the ship, the ferry set sail. Seeing this, Ash could only make a confident jump and barely made it onto the ship.
