Chapter 63: Lower...yourself?

"Uh...it’s a weird name called...Emperal."

Dresh was stunned when she heard that name. She unconsciously touched her face, tracing a past scar...that was no longer visible.

She had almost returned with PTSD that day when that woman named Vara had clawed her face in a fit of jealousy.

"Lady Dresh...? Are you alright?"

Valin asked with a concerned expression on his face. He couldn’t help but be curious about the man who made a powerhouse like Dresh hitch.

"It’s nothing. What does the letter say?" Seeing his doubtful eyes, Dresh forced herself to calm down.

"It is written...I want you, Lady Dresh. I have missed your company and need a bit of assistance from your...uhh, hands. See you...soon—WHO DARES TO INSULT LADY DRESH!!?"

At the end, a thick vein popped on his forehead. Reading the contents of the letter, he couldn’t help but think it was from some weird pervert.

Dresh’s brows twitched, but she sighed. Waving her hand, the letter flew from Valin’s hand and landed in front of her.

"Hmm, let’s see."

She muttered with curiosity in her voice, the concentration of Verth in her eyes suddenly increased!

The ordinary letter, which just contained some questionable words...suddenly blurred, replaced by glowing blue letters.

"Lady Dresh, I apologise for such words. It was just to grab your attention. I needed a little help from you. If you are available, please contact me soon."

Seeing this, Dresh was quiet for a few more seconds. Valin looked at her confusedly. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"Lady Dresh, you just have to order. I will find whoever wrote such a type of letter and present him to you!"

Valin spoke, his voice full of valiance for his owner. Hearing this, Dresh was quiet for a second before bursting into laughter.

"Pfff~! No need for that, prepare a letter for me."

She waved her hands. Although he was still confused, he did as he was told, grabbing a letter. He looked at Dresh.

"Give it here."

A few seconds later, Dresh folded the paper and returned it to Valin. There was a small smile at the corner of her lips.

"Go, post this. Hmm, what was that name again? Ah! Yes, post it to...Dawnreach."

"Yes, My Lady!"

Saying that, Valin walked out, just in time to see Sera walk in, her long ears twitching lightly.

"Sera?"

Dresh looked at the woman in surprise; usually, she wasn’t the type to abandon her work and roam outside.

"Master Dresh, I heard there were some...unusual instances happening in the Royal Palace?"

Sera spoke, her tone way different than the one she usually used to address Dresh.

Hearing her words, Dresh sighed. "I do not want to be involved with that filth, but it seems they are getting restless."

At the end of her words, Dresh chuckled, further confusing Sera.

"Why is that, Master?"

"Because the EverHeart will soon bloom, the races will once again gather together and...chaos will ensue."

Dresh sighed and continued, "I think you should also prepare for that. It must be your first time since you are only three hundred years old."

Sera nodded with a smile on her face, "I won’t disappoint the master."

"Good, now go."

Dresh waved her hand, the sound of the footsteps gradually fading as Dresh was left alone in the room.

Her gentle eyes gradually turned icy cold. It was so cold that even the temperature in the room started plummeting at a rapid pace.

"The last time you were saved because of that coward, but what will you do this time...sister?"

She spoke, her eyes penetrating thousands and thousands of miles and landing on the deepest part of the Elven territory.

The EverHeart Tree.

"This time, I will obtain you. No matter the cost."

...

Solemere, Dawnreach.

BOOM!!

"Shit! The left one fell short!"

A brilliant fire ignited in the middle of the sea as a single man was propelled forward at a monstrous speed.

Emperal’s eyes shifted, concentrating on the Verth output. He suddenly increased the input and compressed it.

The right leg and left sole came facing in the same direction, and Emperal regained control slightly.

It was then his eyes spotted a figure ahead of him. It was standing exactly three miles away from his current position.

"Heh."

A small smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. Suddenly, he poured in massive amounts of Verth and compressed it to the maximum!

BOOOM!!

A sonic boom resounded through hundreds of miles as Emperal shot forward like a missile. Clenching his fists hard, he reached the figure in under a second.

Without hesitation, he punched forward, his hands covered in Kraeth’sol. Soleine chuckled when she saw his antics.

She merely raised her finger against his incoming fist.

BOOM!!!!

A massive explosion occurred that shook the seas and their creatures. The shockwave was so strong that it travelled dozens of miles!

DHHHHAAAAMMMM!!!!!

KNCHHHH!!!

CRACK!!

"Argh! Fuck, that hurts!"

Emperal exhaled loudly as he felt the bones inside his fists crack loudly. But Soleine’s finger was entirely intact.

Seeing this, Emperal raised his gaze, expecting her to laugh and mock him, but what he saw surprised him.

There was a small frown on her face. When she felt his gaze—

"Emperal, this...technique. H-How did you learn it?"

She spoke, her unusual voice surprising him as it was his first time hearing it.

"What do you mean by that?"

But she didn’t seem to listen to his words. "Y-You are growing way too fast."

Silence...

Emperal looked at her. "Does she know I cultivate the Myriad Dragon Art?"

He asked, but surprisingly, the Infernal Dragon stayed silent. Taking a deep breath, he...decided to gamble.

"Soleine."

He spoke, his voice heavy. Soleine’s gaze dropped onto his.

"Do you know about...Myriad Dragon Art?"

He asked, his breathing uneven.

"M...yriad Dragon Art, huh? So, that is its current name."

Suddenly, her eyes began to glow. An unimaginable amount of pressure rolled off from her body like overwhelming waves.

"Hmph, once again trying to kill a genius. Just how much are you going to lower yourself?"

Soleine snorted disdainfully as her expression slowly transformed into a cold iceberg. Looking down at Emperal, her gaze penetrated his existence and opened into the depths of his being.

"Infernal Dragon, should I come in, or do you want me to drag you out?"
