Chapter 1565: The Dreadful Mission

Chosen by the Evil King?

That is just some bullshit. Kent knew he wasn’t really going to take what she said seriously because, at the end of the day, he is the Evil God.

The only thing he never expected, however, was the fact that the Ruthless Bandit managed to bring together an entire race of beasts and even made them become one under his divinity, thereby invoking the Star Realm once again.

That came as a shock to him.

He had yet to know much of the Ruthless Bandit’s life, but he learned from Uncle Drew and the other Night Riders that he was the kind of person whose existence was plagued by evil.

Wherever he went, evil followed.

Such a person wasn’t one he expected to be the reason the Infinity Universe and the Star Beast could one day reach an agreement and form an alliance against a common enemy.

’Strange, very strange.’ He doesn’t hate himself, but deep down, he feels like he isn’t worthy to hold the divinity of these people.

Deep down, he knew he was right to feel that way.

This, of course, caused him to wonder if the divinity was what the Ruthless Bandit was after, or if there was something else.

If he wanted to become stronger, then why didn’t he comprehend the intent of evil and develop the Dao of Evil, just like how Vexthra has the Dao of Hatred and Resentment?

So what was he after, and, most importantly, why did he come to this place and even leave part of his will behind to ensure that, today, he would return here and meet these people?

’Suddenly, I feel like this journey wouldn’t be as simple as I expected.’

Yes, he had become a monster now. But from how things were progressing, he would have to be even more prepared if he wanted to make it out of this place alive.

He turned to the High Priestess:

"Let’s drop the issue of the Evil King for now and focus on what I must do to enter that portal you said is in Stone City. I suppose asking them to allow me entry is out of the picture."

"Indeed."

The High Priestess sighed and said:

"The eight people you came with were members of the Princess’s team. They were separated from her so they could serve as a decoy for the Princess to escape the Terrakhans.

She was on her way from Wind City after a meeting with the leaders there. Apparently, the Lightning and Flame City had formed an alliance with Stone City. They really intend to get their hands on the item left behind by the Evil King.

This then means, aside from the two demigods of Stone City, since they are now in an alliance, they would have four demigods and thousands of Immortal Lords.

Aside from that, all three cities are beings that have no fear of blood. Unlike us, they would kill to get what they want. The only upside, however, is that we have a powerful formation surrounding this city, so as long as we remain inside, we will be safe, at least for another two years.

I have already discovered that the power source powering this formation is running low, and if they were to start launching attacks at us, it would only be a matter of time before we run out completely.

We also cannot form alliances with any of the cities, simply because of our nature. No city will willingly join us knowing we cannot kill. If anything, they would prefer to stand on the sidelines and watch."

Kent nodded.

"So what you are saying here is, the Evil King brought me here hoping I can save you from four demigods and thousands of immortals."

He smiled in the end, a bit amused.

However, the expression on the High Priestess’s face told him that was indeed her thought. "Wait, you really believe I have what it takes to kill four demigods?"

"The Evil King wouldn’t have picked you if you don’t have the means."

’Well, that is just some next-level fanaticism.’

Kent smiled, his amused expression faltering a bit.

’Four demigods, really? Even if I can take on one demigod, what makes them think I can handle three more? I will be wrecked after taking on just one of them; three more would be me telling common sense I don’t believe in it anymore.’

The smile on his face brightened, making the High Priestess and the five elders turn and look at each other, wondering if he was alright in the head.

’I am a Sword Emperor and a Shadow Emperor. Aside from that, I have 250,000 Blood Runes, 350,000 Flame Runes, one Chaos Heart, two Flame Cores, and two Blood Cores.’ Kent paused, his eyes narrowing a bit.

’Wait a minute, I have a Chaos Heart... I have a Chaos Heart.’ Kent paused and let his breath slow down a bit.

’I have a Chaos Heart that is only filled with 10% Chaos energy. That is more than enough to give me an edge over a demigod. However, if I were to have slightly more, who is to say I won’t have the means to kill all four of them?’ He smiled, possibilities appearing in his mind.

’I have four more innate abilities to unlock, and aside from that, I am perfectly ready to attempt learning the Claw Art. Aside from that, I have the means to paint some things that can give me an edge over them.

In fact, with enough time and planning, I can actually pull off this dreadful mission and get to Elina much faster.’

He beamed with joy once more, his mind spinning, looking for a way out. After a few more seconds, he sighed. ’Too bad I have only 10% Chaos Qi. If only there were a way to get more...’ Kent paused and turned toward the High Priestess.

A realisation finally dawned on him.

"You said something about the Tormented Chaos Abyss. Is there a chance the beings that live there are Chaos Beasts?"

The High Priestess’ expression turned dark, a sense of fear enveloping her. For a moment, she and her five elders trembled.

"I did say that, but I would advise you shouldn’t think about going there."

Kent laughed. "And why is that?"

"Because while in there, the moment you run out of Essence, there is no way to replenish it. The Chaos Essese there is harmfil to non chaose beings. Aside from that, the beings there are mutated Chaos beings, terrifying to even imagine. It would be a suicide mission."

"Oh, so there are indeed Chaos Beasts living there," Kent asked again, and the High Priestess nodded.

"And you said this formation can hold for two more years, right?"

She nodded again.

"Great. I have more time then."

"What do you mean?"

Kent smiled. "Well, while you may not have the means to enter the Tormented Chaos Abyss, I do. In fact, I am a Chaos Beast." Kent released some of his Chaos Essence, causing the six people inside the hall to tremble in their seats.

"If I can kill just a few hundred Chaos Beasts, then there is a chance I will have the means to save this city and make sure no other city will dare mess around with your people ever again."

"But you would have to go to the Tormented Chaos Abyss, where there are even Chaotic God Beasts."

"I have no problem with that."
