Primordial Law Codex: I can manipulate heavenly laws
Chapter 27: The Squad Leader’s Arrival(2)
Since Leon had received the news that the group of soldiers under the squad leader of Rose Valley Town would be coming to Stone Fort Village to investigate, he did not go out to hunt today.
After having breakfast, he accompanied little Amy and Sister Coco in playing. With his ’hand of thought’, he lifted the two of them and made them fly inside the room like birds.
He also gave the Slumbering Arc he had purchased at the black market to little Amy and taught her how to send Sister Coco into the Slumbering Arc and how to summon her out.
Once inside the Slumbering Arc, Sister Coco would fall into a deep sleep and only when she was brought out would she wake up. Amy practiced summoning Sister Coco in and out for a while before a knocking sound interrupted their moment of peace.
Leon had already heard the sound of horses outside his house, so he pretty much guessed who was outside.
When he opened the door, he saw the village chief standing outside his house. Behind him there was also a group of soldiers, roughly more than fifty in number.
The village chief forced a smile and said, "This sir is the squad leader of Rose Valley Town, Ans Frostwell. He is here to investigate the missing case of three of the soldiers under him."
Leon looked at the chubby man who was sitting on top of a robust white horse and nodded calmly.
Ans frowned when he saw that the young man was not even slightly affected by his peak Iron Realm aura. Squinting his beady eyes, he waved his hand. Understanding his gesture, one of the young soldiers dismounted from his horse and walked towards Leon.
Seeing this, the village chief narrowed his eyes and stood directly in front of him.
"What is the meaning of this, old man?" Ans asked with a light chuckle when he saw this.
The village chief looked emotionlessly at the fatty and said, "You told me that you have some questions for him regarding the case you are investigating, and I will not stop you. But that questioning will happen right here, in front of me. As for taking him away, you can forget about it."
"Is that so?" Ans asked with a playful expression on his face.
The young soldier pulled out a long sword from his storage ring and continued walking towards the village chief. The village chief also pulled out a huge war hammer from his storage ring and glared at the young soldier like a hunter looking at his prey.
The young soldier who was full of confidence a moment before suddenly lost all his courage under the heavy killing intent coming from the old man and halted in his step.
Ans was not surprised by this. He looked at the old man and said with admiration, "As expected of a retired veteran from the Asura Devil Army. You really live up to the fame of Asura God."
After a moment of silence, he called back the young soldier and nodded towards the village chief. "Fine, we will do as you say. Let the kid answer my questions in your presence."
The village chief relaxed his firm grip on the war hammer and patted Leon’s shoulder to assure him before he stepped to the side.
Ans scrutinized Leon from head to toe and asked, "Three of the soldiers under me, including the head soldier from your village, are missing. I am here to investigate this matter. So I expect clear and precise answers to my questions."
Leon nodded with neither arrogance nor respect. Ever since this guy set his eyes on his little sister, Leon had already marked a red line over his name. It was only a matter of time before he cut this guy in half, so he did not find it necessary to act like a dog in front of him.
Ans also noticed this, but he did not point it out and asked calmly, "Some time ago, one of my men came to your house to investigate regarding this missing case, and you attacked him instead. Is this true?"
The village chief was stunned. He thought Ans was trying to frame Leon and was ready to defend him, but Leon’s sudden words stiffened him on the spot.
"It is true. That guy entered my house without permission and used his aura to attack my family. So I had no choice but to step in to protect them."
"He attacked your family? Then call them out. I want confirmation from them as well," Ans said coldly.
Leon frowned, but before he could speak, the village chief stopped him. "Just call them out. As long as I am breathing, nothing will happen."
Leon hesitated for a moment and called out for Grandma Mercy and little Amy, who came out of the house and stood behind Leon.
Ans’s eyes lit up when he saw Amelia and he smiled in satisfaction before he asked, "Your brother told me that one of my soldiers broke into your house and tried to harm both of you. Is that true?"
Seeing the lecherous expression on the fatty’s face, Grandma Mercy pulled Amelia behind her and answered the question herself, "He is telling the truth."
Ans glared at the old woman in irritation and turned to Leon. "This old hag is your servant, right? Where are your parents?"
Leon shook his head. "First of all, she is our grandmother, not some servant. As for our parents, they have gone on a long tour and still have not returned."
Ans chuckled. "Well, that is a good excuse. Even in the records of Rose Valley Town, there was only your name as the guardian for this little girl with no other family relations, right?" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Leon nodded. "Though I am young, I have already proved my capabilities as a hunter at a very young age. So according to the law of the Human Alliance, I am more than capable of having guardianship of my little sister."
Ans nodded. "Yeah, as long as she is your real sister."
Leon narrowed his eyes. "What are you trying to say?"
Ans still had a playful smile on his face as he said casually, "Nothing much. I suspect that this little girl is not your actual sister and you have abducted her from somewhere else. So until you can produce some evidence to prove your relation with her, she will be under the care of the army."
"Also, since you have injured one of my soldiers, you will have to bear all his medical expenses. At the same time, you have to submit all your storage treasures and let my soldiers investigate your house to see if you have any hand in the disappearance of my three soldiers."
The village chief’s expression changed. "Sir, you are being unreasonable here."
Before he could finish, Ans interrupted him coldly. "Old man, although I respect you, you have to know that this is a serious issue. We are not even sure if that little girl has faced any torture at this boy’s hands. As responsible soldiers of the Human Alliance, it is our duty to ensure her safety and help her rejoin her family."
He then jumped down from the horse and walked towards Amelia with a creepy smile on his face. "Don’t worry little girl, uncle will rescue you from this evil bastard and help you find your real family."
Although Amelia was scared of this fat man, when she heard him calling her brother bad names, her little face turned cold and she glared at him furiously. "You are the evil bastard. If you don’t want to die, get out of this place. Otherwise my brother will squash you like how grandma kills cockroaches."
Ans froze when he heard the little girl’s words. Even the villagers who had gathered around after hearing the commotion looked at the little girl in silence as though they were seeing a new species. After all, it takes a lot of courage for an ordinary person to speak to an Iron Realm cultivator under the heavy pressure of their aura.
"Hahaha..." Ans suddenly laughed. "A young calf is indeed not afraid of a tiger’s claws."
As he finished speaking, his fat body turned into a blur as he rushed towards Amelia at a terrifying speed difficult to follow with human eyes.
But before Ans could touch Amelia, a kick landed on his stomach like a dragon’s tail and his fat body was sent flying backwards towards the group of soldiers.
Everyone, including the soldiers and the villagers, looked at the fat middle aged man who was lying unconscious at some distance and then at the young man who stood calmly before his sister like a mountain.
Uncle Sal, who was silently watching all this, sighed as he thought about the first time he met Leon and Amelia. Back then, this boy stood against a pack of wolves like a tiger for his little sister. Now, he was standing in front of her again, but this time against a group of wolves in human skin.
.....
Leon cracked his neck and pulled out his two swords from his storage ring. "My sister spoke the truth. Leave now, or die. I don’t give a damn about rules when I am angry."
Seeing their mighty and invincible leader lying unconscious on the ground from a single kick of the young man before them, the soldiers did not dare speak any more. They left the place with their leader’s body tied on his horse back like a large bag of meat.
