Chapter 155: Contribution Point Exchange Hall
Arriving on the main street, Fengyu didn’t go further but walked right to the main gate surrounded by court buildings - the Inner City Gate!
Two mighty guards with a presence of the second stage stood here, blocking the path for any person without the right to enter.
Taking out his token, Fengyu showed it to the guard, "May I enter?" he asked casually.
The guards looked over at the token. Their eyes gleamed with spiritual light as they verified it, before nodding and bowing slightly, "Greetings esteemed Inner Citizen! Please enter and act accordingly," they said.
Fengyu nodded just as he was about to pass them by, he stopped and asked, "This is my first time here. Could you tell me where I can exchange my contribution points?"
"There is a Contribution Point Exchange Hall at the entrance of each gate, they’re large buildings with plaques, difficult to overlook." one of the guards said, returning to his position right away.
"Thank you!" Fengyu thanked them and walked in.
Instantly, a wave of spiritual power washed over him when he passed the gate - even the concentration of the inner city’s spiritual power started at the second stage!
Having become used to it in his field, he calmed down shortly after and walked a few further steps, observing everything.
From outside it looked like the inner city was just a normal continuation of the outer city, without anything special.
But when he entered, he saw right away that there were many special stores, even here at the gate. A few read like city property, while others were casual gathering and tea house places. Some looked like open crafting buildings!
In general, it indeed didn’t have the feeling of the outer city nor the market, but it felt a bit like a large village or neighbourhood, with everyone engaging in casual chatter even when they passed by.
That’s right - there were quite a few citizens walking here!
They wore clothes of all kinds, smiling kindly at each other and nodding even when just passing by.
Fengyu had cupped his hands several times when he just entered.
Looking back at the gate, he saw that the outside didn’t react to this at all - a clear sign that there was an illusion formation that blocked the perception of those outside while allowing them to see what was going on from the inside!
Such a situation... if it was a criminal city, it would be a scary observation station, but looking around... people didn’t care at all about this, simply doing their things, acting like everything around was just normal.
He sighed - indeed, with such an atmosphere, how could the city not progress by leaps and bounds? Even the Foundation Building cultivators passing by nodded to him as if they were acquaintances, not acting arrogant nor like seniors, rather like companions who walk the dao along each other, simply having entered the dao a bit earlier.
Zimu became slightly energetic since they entered the inner city. After he asked, he was told that the feeling of peace here was even stronger, making him want to bathe in this power.
Fengyu chuckled and told him that they could enjoy it another time - now they had something to do!
Walking over to the large building with the plaque reading "Contribution Point Exchange Hall", just as the guard said, it was very obvious and right at the entrance.
Few cultivators were here. Or rather, there were only a few dozen people going around here, so it was normal that a place like this would only have two or three walking around.
Compared to that, the receptionists were still three people. Two receptionists were humans while one was a half-beast, and they acted rather stiff, as if they were cautious of everything around them.
Fengyu shook his head, knowing that these were likely non-inner citizen staff that were only allowed to enter after rigorous training and signing many contracts. The benefits must be great, but the risk wasn’t low either, as any small mistake might cause them to lose their job and experience various punishments.
He couldn’t possibly take care of everyone, so Fengyu simply walked up to one of them, took out his token and directly stated, "I would like to order a Cultivation Set for my friend here," he pointed at Zimu in his arms after he spoke.
The receptionist quickly took the token and scanned it, completing everything in just a moment, then said, "The Spiritual Guide will arrive in a few minutes. Please sit down in the waiting area in the meantime, we will send him to you!" after saying this, the receptionist also handed over the token again.
"Thank you," Fengyu nodded and walked to the waiting area. Just as he sat down, an attendant came and served him a cup of tea and some biscuits, all of them high quality items of the first stage.
He took a bite and sipped some tea, feeling his spiritual power and mental state, which were a bit exhausted after healing for two hours, recover slightly.
"Good stuff, here, taste them," Fengyu said, handing both over to Zimu.
Just as he did so, he saw the attendant bring another set of items, specifically for Zimu.
"Haha, thank you." he said as he put Zimu on the table, making it easier for him to directly eat the biscuits. Of course Zimu had long mastered the Spiritual Control art inherited in his bloodline, so he could control the items and raise them to his mouth.
As they were waiting, Fengyu saw a familiar person come over after entering the hall, calling to him, "Brother Fengyu! I didn’t expect to meet you here!"
"Brother Shanqing, I haven’t seen you for some time!" Fengyu greeted him with a warm smile, missing this energetic young master!
"Haha, brother, aren’t you the one who’s always busy? Last time we haven’t even exchanged contact information properly before you left to cultivate!"
"Hehe, I was indeed a bit hasty, but I think brother can understand it!" Fengyu chuckled as he invited Shanqing to sit down next to him.
