Raising Ducks for Daily Rewards
Chapter 159: Calculations and Illusions
Having decided on this, Fengyu used his request opportunity and asked them to form a collection of 30% of each of these three ideas, and 10% for any remaining path that also contains bits and parts about peace.
His token was used to complete this, upon which he thanked the receptionist and manager and left the hall.
With many things to do, he really didn’t have much time and returned right to his field.
Ming and Ling greeted him and talked about a few things. He also asked about their progress and learned that their two inspirations were very close to awakening and that it wasn’t far off. He told them not to rush it and take it slow, as it was an important part of their path.
Leaving them be, he focused on transforming his cultivation the whole time. At this point, he had already saved up 7% of cultivation in his dantian, which he didn’t refine right away, unwilling to add to his workload in the process of transforming his dantian.
Fortunately there was visible progress, as slow as it may be, he had already completed the first bowl and was halfway to his second bowl. According to estimations, he would complete everything in a year.
After a month of working in the hospital, he treated various different issues, the treatments all ranging with there being a spike occasionally, but his income daily was between 1.000 spirit stones to 1.500 spirit stones on average - this led to his income being 35.000 spirit stones in the first month and an additional 30.000 spirit stones from helping the panther!
But, there was a limit to how many patients he got and how wealthy his patients would be - he later learned that the hospital did indeed have many cases of such difficult operations, but in the end, Fengyu could only take on a part of them.
Even among those, he specialised in fleshy cut wounds and separated limbs - there were doctors who specialised in different things, which meant he wasn’t the most suitable doctor for them, leading to not getting those cases.
A combination of various things led to his income over the next months being between 30.000 spirit stones and 40.000 spirit stones normally, adding on average 10.000 spirit stones additionally for special cases. Adding his wage on top of that, on average his income was 45.000 spirit stones monthly!
He gained so many spirit stones in such a rapid matter, leading him to have a huge surplus of spirit stones in just a few months. In consideration of this, he thought about spending it for preparations for the beast tide -
After all, other cultivators who probably had a similar income didn’t seem to be particularly wealthy, leading him to believe that the beast tide was just that difficult to overcome, leading to people giving away all their hard earned income to survive it!
As an attempt to see how wealthy he really was compared to other cultivators, he asked around and read texts about the average income of alchemists, weapon refiners and others - the result was surprising!
The average income of the five popular crafting arts ranged from 10.000 spirit stones monthly to 50.000 spirit stones monthly, the peak being the income of formation masters! On the other hand, the peak income of herders and planters was actually around 10.000 spirit stones. But because they had control of raw material, many of the more established herders and planters opened restaurants or pharmacies, increasing their income by a lot too. These were all the average income of cultivators with True Inspirations - not those of normal cultivators.
He was confused at this point - why was the world between before entering the late stage and after entering the late stage so different?
Before the highest he could ever think of was an income of a hundred thousand after a few years, yet now his yearly income already surpassed half a million...
That was when he understood - in fact, his income wasn’t on the level of Qi Refining cultivators, but rather because of his own foundation, his inspirations and his many years of accumulation, he entered the income range of ’Semi Second stage cultivator’.
After hearing this, he understood. It’s a known fact that Foundation Building cultivators use mid grade spirit stones, which is equal to 100 low grade spirit stones.
For these cultivators, his income hasn’t even reached the lower limit of 10.000 mid-grade spirit stones yearly, making him a poor fellow.
With a higher income he also saw a higher sky. The previous near second stage items, which never interested the second stage cultivators in the second floor of the auction hall, now seemed a bit weak.
Cultivators of his calibre saved their money to purchase special items of the second stage that can be used in the first stage, and also put their money into preliminary projects to expand the scale of their business.
With such high earnings, Fengyu slowly considered renting this field. Although he was still far from the 100.000 spirit stones monthly to rent the field fully, he could at least rent a third...
But then he realised, with his cultivation and schedule, he simply didn’t have time to manage that.
That was when he really realised why cultivators of his stage had such high income yet also extremely high expenses - they simply used their income to make up for the lack of time.
The distance between Fengyu and normal cultivators grew, yet he realised that this distance was only personal distance. The more he got, the more he realised how great it would be to use his income to support 10 or 100 cultivators to work for him, if only there was any way to get strands and cores through this...
Unfortunately, even neglecting ducks led to losing them, so when he asked the twins to raise a duck for him, he didn’t get a single strand nor spell expertise.
But while he couldn’t gain more in this regard, there seemed to be an invisible will telling him something -
To build a force, distance from the city, become independent, and in the end, he would be rewarded with... great fortune...
