Raising Yanderes to save the world
Chapter 74: Ch 73: You are disqualified
"Why does it matter if he’s Grand Master Kael or a beggar? All I care about is the fact that you are blocking my way. And why are you here in the first place? I am supposed to meet my future wife, not a man."
Sir Ridley ignored his butler’s advice to calm down and instantly started yelling at Kael.
Everyone looked toward their table with keen interest, wondering what Kael would do to the poor man for this insult.
After all, those in power usually had bad tempers.
But Kael prided himself on being much more patient than most people.
In his eyes, Sir Ridley looked like someone suffering from Main Character Syndrome.
This would not be Kael’s first time dealing with such a person.
The ones who usually had such conditions were kids, and most of them eventually grew out of it. But for those who did not, it was necessary to force them out of it as soon as possible.
Clearly, no one had done that for Sir Ridley, and that was why his condition had deteriorated like this.
Kael sighed and took a seat opposite Sir Ridley. His carefree attitude combined with his lack of caution made Sir Ridley even angrier.
"Why are you all just looking? Hurry up and throw him out!"
But no one moved.
Even if the guards wanted to follow Sir Ridley’s orders, they could not due to Kael’s magic binding them in place.
"There is no point in blaming the guards, Sir Ridley. Allow me to remove them since we don’t need them during our discussion."
Kael clapped his hands, and the shadows beneath the guards quickly started swallowing their bodies. They disappeared within seconds, not leaving a single trace behind.
"W-What did you-!"
Sir Ridley finally showed signs of nervousness, but he caught himself in time and straightened his back.
"Now, could you explain why you sent Iris a letter? I don’t believe she and you have any connection. As for the marriage proposal, I would like to deny it on her behalf."
Kael had no intention of sending Iris to a person with such a hot temper. She would try to endure this man for the sake of her marriage and Kael’s reputation, but it would be difficult with her own temper.
If she were to snap...it would be mentally scarring for her. And that was the last thing Kael needed.
[Mission update: Please ensure that the mental health of your targets remains good.]
The ancient magic agreed with him and erased any doubts from Kael’s mind about his actions.
Sir Ridley did not like his interference and immediately slammed his hand on the table, only to shake it when it hurt.
But even being hurt did not bring him back to his senses, and he yelled at Kael.
"Who are you to make that decision for her? The one I’m going to marry is her, so bring her here."
This question sounded valid, but because it was coming out of Sir Ridley’s mouth, even that sounded ridiculous. This man seemed to have an amazing talent for speaking nonsense.
"You are right. I cannot make decisions for Iris, and I will allow her to choose the person she wants to marry. But as her current employer and family, I do think I have the right to reject unsuitable men before she has a chance to get hurt."
Kael ’gently’ rejected Sir Ridley, and the man lunged toward him in anger.
"You bastard! I am going to kill you-!"
However, instead of grabbing Kael, the angry man smacked his face against a barrier. It left a harsh mark, but even that did not discourage Sir Ridley.
Kael sighed before he stood up and started walking away.
"Well, I thought I should come here to see if I should allow Iris to meet you or not. But I can clearly see that there is no point in her meeting you."
An encounter like this reminded Kael of the soap operas his colleagues sometimes liked to watch. He had never felt more like a father concerned about his daughter’s future than he did at this moment.
But just thinking about Iris as his daughter made him shudder. It was not a relationship he wanted to have with Iris.
’For now, being family should be fine. We can redefine our relationship once Iris is more stable.’
__________
"Young Master, please stop trembling-!"
"Are you trying to make fun of me? Which part of me looks like a young master to you? Ugh, I cannot believe I got humiliated like that at my age!"
The butler suddenly felt his breath quicken at Sir Ridley’s words.
He was a narcissist who was willing to do anyone a favor as long as they kept him happy. For such a person to rage like this was...
’Oh no! Grand Master Kael pressed Sir Ridley’s buttons to the point where he is even forgetting his persona of being a ’young master.’ He might do something stupid at this rate.’
But there was nothing the butler could do to control his young master.
Because he had always given in to his young master’s demands and pampered him, his young master had grown into a person who refused to hear ’no’ under any circumstances. There was only one solution to this whole problem—to give him what he wanted.
"Sir Ridley, please allow me to take care of this situation for you. I will bring Miss Iris to you without Grand Master Kael knowing. Then, you can talk to her about your marriage and propose."
The butler had always thrown his lot in with Sir Ridley, so this was a do-or-die situation for them.
And since Sir Ridley was not going to back down anymore, it was up to the butler to ensure that things remained on track.
The fastest way to do that would be to bring Miss Iris to their side.
"You-! It’s all your fault! But since you are telling me you will take responsibility, do it properly. Bring me my bride, and I will forgive you."
The butler sighed in agitation as he bowed before Sir Ridley to show his submission. But he was boiling on the inside.
’This stupid man! When did I say it was my fault? Stop pinning the blame on me for something you did. Ugh, now I have to clean up your mess. Then again, you are stupid enough not to know the difference between a normal person and a Sword Master. So it will be easy to deceive you.’
