Although it was past the peak dining hour, there were still other diners in the restaurant.

Alice Turner straightened up in her seat and stealthily glanced at the other diners around them. Fortunately, they were all focused on their own meals and didn’t seem to notice their situation, which made her feel less embarrassed. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

"You don’t have to be so cautious. We’re a couple openly dating; they can look if they want," Thomas Fisher said nonchalantly, reaching out to hold the hand Alice had placed on her lap. She instinctively tried to pull away, but he interlocked his fingers with hers.

Alice tilted her head towards the man sitting next to her, only to meet his deeply affectionate gaze. She seemed to be frozen by a spell, unable to move, locked in the depth of those loving dark eyes.

As the two of them exchanged a tender gaze, the waiter approached with two dishes.

Hearing footsteps, Alice snapped back to reality and looked toward the sound, spotting the waiter who was almost at their table.

The waiter placed two finished dishes on the table and returned to the kitchen. After a moment, he brought two more dishes back. After three trips, everything Alice ordered was served.

"Please enjoy your meal!"

After placing all the dishes on the table, the waiter turned and left.

As soon as the waiter left, Alice picked up the chopsticks in front of her, but instead of starting to eat, she used them to point at the dishes on the table. "These spicy dishes are mine, and those non-spicy ones are yours."

He didn’t like spicy food, while she couldn’t do without it. When she ordered, she deliberately chose dishes of both flavors.

"Got it, let’s eat while it’s hot." As soon as the waiter placed the dishes on the table, Thomas had noticed their distinct features. He already knew how much she loved spicy food from their meal of hotpot by the river.

"You should start eating too."

After saying this, Alice lowered her head and began to eat. Having skipped breakfast, she was starving, devouring her food with relish. Watching her, Thomas felt hungry too.

Thomas watched Alice eat for a moment before picking up his chopsticks. Rather than going for the non-spicy dishes, he reached for her favorite spicy ones.

"That’s mine..."

Alice didn’t even finish her sentence before Thomas had already stuffed the spicy dish into his mouth, and immediately she saw him grimacing.

Seeing this, she quickly handed him a glass of water and pulled out a few tissues for him. "Look carefully before you pick. Spit it out, then rinse your mouth with some water."

Seeing him grimacing and frowning, she could tell he was uncomfortable.

Thomas didn’t spit out the food; he swallowed it whole and then quickly drank the water she handed him.

After downing a glass of water, the spicy taste in his mouth faded a bit, but for someone who didn’t eat spicy food, it didn’t really make a difference. He still felt his mouth was on fire.

Watching her enjoy her food so much, he couldn’t resist trying, but how could the taste be so different for him?

"Is it any better? If it’s still too spicy, have some rice to suppress the heat." Seeing that Thomas hadn’t fully recovered, Alice handed him a bowl of rice to help ease the spiciness.
