"Stop joking around, it looks like your mom has left."

Alice Turner had just dashed out of the break room and immediately went to look for Autumn York, but as she walked over to the sofa, she realized there wasn’t a soul in sight.

She turned her head to look around the entire office, and sure enough, there was no trace of Autumn, so she quickly went back to find Thomas Fisher.

Thomas instinctively turned his head to look at the sofa, and indeed, his mom’s figure was not there. Not seeing his mom made him laugh even more cheerfully, "She’s left, so be it, anyway, she’s already met you."

His mom was quite sensible not to stay and be a third wheel.

"Then I’ll leave too." Alice thought she had been out for quite some time and should get back to the company to work.

Seeing that she was about to leave, Thomas reached out and grabbed her hand, "You’ve just arrived, stay a bit longer."

Earlier, she was busy chatting with his mom, leaving him entirely ignored. She hadn’t really looked at him properly.

"I’ve been out for a long time. I can’t compare to you, the big boss. If I’m out too long, I’ll have my salary docked." Alice struggled to break free from Thomas’s grip. The harder she struggled, the tighter he held on. She got a bit anxious, "Let go of me quickly, I really have to go."

If she doesn’t hurry back, her salary would really be docked.

"How much is your boss docking you? I’ll double it and make up for you. You stay here with me." Thomas really didn’t want Alice to leave. With a gentle motion, he pulled her into his arms.

Hearing this, Alice’s face instantly turned unhappy, "Thomas Fisher! What do you take me for?"

She glared at the man holding her with a darkened expression. He was actually offering her money to stay with him; did he see her as a money-grubbing woman? Ready to do anything for money?

"Of course, I see you as my future wife. Just stay here with me." Seeing Alice change her expression, Thomas thought she was pretending to be angry like earlier, fooling him, and he leaned in with a smile to kiss her.

Alice’s eyes stared straight at the man, her face even darker than before, "How much are you planning to give me to stay with you? I’m worth quite a lot, you know."

Even though he could still laugh, she was fuming, itching to slap him.

"I’ll give you all I have, is that enough?" Thomas still hadn’t realized Alice was genuinely angry, maintaining his bright and happy smile.

Alice’s face turned even darker, and her words were laced with anger, "Not enough!"

Out of frustration, she practically shouted those two words.

"What’s wrong? Are you really angry?" Thomas noticed that something wasn’t quite right. Alice seemed really mad, not pretending. What was it that upset her? Did he say something wrong?

He tilted his head, deep in thought, but after a long time, couldn’t figure out what he’d said wrong.

Seeing him like this, Alice felt even more frustrated, "How would I dare be angry with you, the big boss? You’re rich and powerful."

She glared at him, looking utterly furious.

"You..."

Seeing Alice so angry, Thomas felt completely at a loss for why, she was fine just a moment ago. Why was she suddenly so mad? What on earth happened? Why did he feel like his IQ suddenly dropped to zero?
