Lily Turner had just been so sure that Alice Turner had been sent abroad by the company for further training, but now, seeing how certain Thomas Fisher sounded, she suddenly started to waver. "My sister quit? And no one can reach her? You and my sister didn’t have some kind of falling out, did you?"

This situation was way too abnormal. Her sister was not the kind of reliable person who’d do things by the book; something had to have happened.

"I don’t think so."

Thomas tilted his head and sank into thought. Too many things had happened in the last few days; he had to carefully think through where exactly something had gone wrong.

Seeing that Thomas wasn’t too sure either, Lily didn’t keep pressing him. She took a step forward, walked up to Easton Holmes, and directly reached into his pocket for his phone. She needed to get in touch with her sister as soon as possible and ask what on earth was going on.

Easton didn’t stop Lily. He just let her rummage around in his pocket, quietly watching her, observing her every move.

Once she had the phone, Lily immediately dialed Alice Turner’s number, but what she heard was the prompt that the other party had turned off their phone.

She didn’t give up. She dialed again right away, but what she heard was still the same shut-down message.

She went on to call several more times in a row, but every time the result was exactly the same as the first call. She suddenly realized how serious this was.

Lily stopped calling Alice’s number and instead dialed Sophia Wood’s. As soon as the call went out, she pressed the phone to her ear.

"Hello! Easton!"

After a few rings, Sophia picked up.

"Mom! It’s me. Is Sis home now?" Lily didn’t waste time on small talk with her mom on the other end; the first thing out of her mouth was about Alice.

Hearing that it was Lily calling to ask about Alice, Sophia let out a sigh. "No. Your dad and I are anxiously looking for her right now too."

They hadn’t been able to reach Alice all day; Sophia and Christopher Turner were worried sick, but the two of them had no idea where to even start looking.

"Then where would Sis go? Her phone’s turned off." Lily was certain Alice had done this on purpose. Thinking of that, she suddenly remembered how her sister had showed up at the house yesterday.

Her sister had come home to see her not because she’d had nothing to do after work, but because she’d come especially to the house to say goodbye.

Sophia let out a long sigh. "If I knew where your sister went, that’d be great."

If she knew, she wouldn’t have to be searching everywhere right now, and she wouldn’t have to be this worried.

"Mom, I think Sis is deliberately hiding." Thinking of what happened yesterday, Lily spoke with absolute certainty. With how well she knew Alice, her disappearance had been planned for a long time. Her sister was not the impulsive type; she always did things with a plan.

"What?!"

"Why would your sister deliberately hide?!"

The moment Lily’s words fell, Thomas standing next to her and Sophia on the phone both exclaimed in shock at the same time.

Thomas took a step toward her, emotions running high as he grabbed her wrist. "Did your sister tell you something? You—"

Before he could finish, he’d already been pushed away from her.

"If you want to talk, then talk. Don’t put your hands on her." Easton reached out and pulled Lily behind him, bluntly blocking Thomas in front of him. In the state his wife was in right now, there was no way he was going to let this brat startle her with his jumpiness.
