Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1194: Let’s Keep Our Distance
Lily Turner and Easton Holmes arrived at the restaurant, which was already filled with guests. Since it was New Year’s Eve, the restaurant was richly decorated with festive details, creating a joyous and harmonious atmosphere throughout.
Fearing recognition, Lily dared not look around carelessly. She kept her head down, following Easton to the second floor, worried that someone might accidentally bump into her. He protected her by keeping her close to the railing.
"Lily?!"
As they reached the corner of the second floor, Lily suddenly heard someone calling her name. She looked up and saw a man wearing a baseball cap. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Even with the cap on, she recognized him instantly and blurted out, "Grant... "
As she said Grant’s name, she suddenly realized they were in public and immediately stopped herself.
The man in the baseball cap was none other than Grant Heath, whom she hadn’t seen in days. Ignoring the darkening expression on Easton’s face, he smiled at Lily, "What a coincidence! How did you end up here?"
Grant glanced sideways at Easton, noticing Easton’s expression growing darker and smiled even brighter.
"I’m here with my husband to have New Year’s Eve dinner with family." After the initial surprise, Lily gradually returned to normal, glanced at Easton beside her, and spoke with polite distance, without being rude.
Easton’s darkened expression instantly softened, and a pleased smile appeared on his lips. It was clear he was quite satisfied with Lily’s response, "And you, Mr. Heath? Here with family or your girlfriend?"
Was this man named Heath really meeting them by chance? Somehow, it didn’t quite seem that way.
"Of course, I’m here with family." Grant replied to Easton, but his eyes remained fixed on Lily, as if Easton wasn’t even there.
Easton pulled Lily’s hand to her waist, wrapped his arm around her, and bypassed Grant Heath. They began to head upstairs, "Then we won’t disturb Mr. Heath and his family dinner."
As he led his wife past, Easton glanced back at Grant, then turned and continued upward with his wife in tow.
"Lily! Can we meet again?" Just as they were about to walk away, Grant called out to the tall figure moving away, his previous smile no longer visible.
Hearing Grant’s question, Lily instinctively paused, and Easton stopped with her, silently watching as she turned slightly to look at Grant behind them, "We shouldn’t meet again; it’s better for all of us."
She spoke resolutely, and her attitude was unmistakably clear. Lily was a straightforward person and disliked complicating matters. She was not adept at handling complex emotional issues.
Precisely because she couldn’t handle emotional matters, her past relationship had faced a crisis. Now that her life was finally back on track, she didn’t want to stray again.
"Not meeting again?" The words pierced Grant’s heart like a thorn, spreading sharp pain from his chest to every part of his body, "What did I ever do to you? We not even meeting? Is it because I love you?"
The pain changed his expression, and his eyes were filled with agony.
Lily stared at Grant for a moment before speaking with a calm expression, "I appreciate your love, but my heart is small, and it can only hold my husband. We should maintain distance."
