Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster
Chapter 911: Going Back Home
A few minutes passed, and by now, Rael was back on the snowy continent, standing in front of the portal that would lead them back to the regular Earth.
But before stepping through, Rael glanced over at Melissa, who finally woke up. She didn’t seem to realize what was happening at first, but once all the memories flooded back into her mind, she became aware of what happened before she passed out.
And of course, like the idiot that she was, she immediately tried to kick off the ground and go back to the place she saw, only to be yanked back by her collar straight through the portal by none other than Rael.
He had grown a little bit tired of her being such an idiot, and he was a little confused about where this sense of adventure came from. Was it because she was stuck in a coma for so long?
Eh...
I have no idea.
Either way, now there was only Altros left, and so Rael gestured for him to go through as well. However, he didn’t. At least not yet.
"Hey, do you think I could become as strong as you?"
Rael raised a brow. "Where’s this coming from? What do you even wanna get strong for?"
Altros paused for a moment, then said:
"Well, there’s been a few threats back home that were a bit too much for us. It was to the point where we needed to gather several dozen of the strongest hunters, and only then were we able to ward off the threat."
He then pointed at himself and added:
"Mind you, that threat was only a Grade 4. We needed to sweat our asses off just to seal the bastard. What happens when more people come? What happens when a Grade 5 descends? I sure as shit won’t be able to defend it, and no one else would be able to either."
With that, he finished his rant. Rael understood what he was talking about, since he had gone through the same troubles in the past. After all, he was just a basic lad, and yet he had to fight against Grade 9 beings.
It was rough, and obviously, as much as Rael wanted to, he didn’t feel like babysitting these two, or their world for that matter.
...Even though all it would take was a single construct.
Well.
"If you really want to get stronger, then just go travel to another world," Rael said flatly. "You’re staying on a planet where the average Grade is like one or something. I’m sorry if I seem insensitive, but I can sneeze and erase your entire population."
Of course...
"You need a place where you can grow while being surrounded by strong folks. Basically, just any world that has a long-standing history. You know those cultivation worlds? Or even murim, maybe. They’re filled to the brim with people like that."
He just stared at Rael for a moment, unsure of what to say.
"Won’t that mean I’ll have to leave Melissa behind?"
"Perhaps." Rael shrugged. "But then again, you’re pushing thirty. Both of you are. Stop clinging to each other like you’re kids."
With that, Rael didn’t wait for Altros to even respond as he went ahead and grabbed him by the hair and then finally tossed him through the portal. As it so happened, Rael ripped out a chunk of hair... maybe two chunks.
Thankfully, it would grow back.
So Rael didn’t really think much of it and finally stepped through the portal, arriving back in Greenland. Coincidentally, Melissa was face-first in a giant pile of snow, her legs just barely peeking out as she wiggled around, trying to escape.
As for Altros, he just rubbed the back of his head in pain.
Rael smiled at them and glanced around. There were way too many portals here, and he was honestly concerned about why this was even the case. Sure, the world had changed, but why exactly did so many portals appear?
Was the emergence of mana really that severe, to the point where it caused so many wormhole-like portals to appear all around the world?
I honestly should just shut them all down, but then again, they don’t lead to any really high places. Even my world is just a... well, meh world. Altros could just find a decent world here and train there.
Rael glanced over a few portals and within his Prophetic Realm, he entered them. As he thought, most of them led straight to worlds fueled by cultivation and all of the other cool stuff.
He had always wanted to cultivate, and maybe it would even be possible given his Meditation Ability he had gotten. Could he perhaps become the strongest cultivator if he started from scratch?
Hmm...
Would his wives agree to that?
It’d take a few years, but it would definitely be fun. Well... I’ll ask them later when they’ve woken up. I don’t want to bother them while they’re still floating around in that... tub.
A shiver ran down his spine as he left his Prophetic Realm and then glanced over at Altros.
"Do you need anything else here, or can we go back home right away?"
He glanced back at Rael then shrugged. "Dunno. I only came here because of this idiot." He pointed at Melissa, who finally managed to get out of the snow.
"I heard that..." Melissa snarled. "And it’s my job. You wouldn’t know, since you’re a lazy bum who just does investments and black market shady deals. How do you feel good being rich by doing that?"
Altros scoffed. "I’ll think over my life choices tonight while I’m sipping tea in my 15 million dollar mansion’s third pool and listening to music from my fifth Bugatti’s speakers."
Oof.
"You piece of shit..." Melissa glared at him, then stomped on over and tried to hit him.
But all that Altros did was slightly move aside and trip her, allowing her to fall face-first into the snow once more.
