 The words hung between them, heavy and deliberate.
 Amon smirked.
 She was kneeling right in front of him. Were he not wearing pants, his cock would already be on her face.
 "You can try," Amon said dryly.
 Her eyes gleamed. She inched closer on her knees, cuffs resting behind her back, every motion slow and filled with tension.

She lacked even the strength to get rid of the cuffs around her wrists, so there was no way she could survive around him.
 "Grabbing my attention to buy her time," He added. "You wouldn’t do that, right? I mean... There’s no way you’re dumb enough to think you would survive after doing something like that."
 Chills ran up and down Rita’s skin.

 "I had no idea Rika would run away." Rita nodded. "Truly."
 He stepped closer, the shift in his aura making her heart stutter. The playfulness was completely gone.
 "The timing is awfully convenient though."
 "I swear!" she blurted out, attempting to lift her hands defensively, but was kept from doing so by the cuffs keeping her hands behind her back. "I didn’t know! I just heard something going on behind the church and figured it must be you! That’s why I-"
 "Hearing that, your friend must have thought that I’d be too busy to notice her."
 "That must be it." Rita nodded repeatedly.
 "Where do you figure she’s going?" Amon asked casually. "Should I let her go?"
 While his voice seemed casual and uncaring, Rita knew that the situation was anything but.
 He was testing her.
 "Rika... Disbeys Levia more easily. Both of us were ordered to work for Vulkan, but Rika never did."
 "She’s not the obedient kind, huh?" Amon thought for a moment. "Did she ever see Vulkan?"
 "No." Rita shook her head. "Not even once."
 "Could it be that she never did because she was too scared?"
 Rita slowly lowered her gaze. "That’s... Possible."
 "I see," Amon nodded, before clapping his hands. "Alright, help me catch her."
 Rita blinked. "What?"
 "You said you wanted me to take those cuffs off." He leaned down, until his shadow engulfed her completely. "Catch her for me then. Catch her and bring her to me."
 "You want me to bring her to you...?"
 Amon’s hand took hold of Rita’s chin, forcing her gaze to meet his.
 "Capture your friend and give her to me."
 Staring into his eyes, Rita’s instincts screamed at her to run too. But the cuffs on her wrists made that impossible. In the first place, Amon’s eyes made her realize that running would mean dying before she could take a dozen steps.

 In the distance, Rika’s silhouette darted through the trees like a phantom, already putting distance between herself and the church.
 Amon’s lips curled upward. "She’s fast."
 Rita glanced at him nervously. "We’re both cuffed. I can’t catch up to her like this. Physically, she’s far-"
 Her words were interrupted and replaced by a gasp as Amon firmly slapped her ass.
 "Go on," he ordered, "Run."
