Chapter 375: Surprise

Grace felt space folding around her.

Even blindfolded, she immediately recognized the sensation of a portal opening and closing around them. The world shifted for barely a second before solid ground settled beneath her feet once again. A soft breeze brushed against her skin, colder and fresher than the air back at the villa, carrying with it scents so vivid and natural that her exhausted mind relaxed instantly.

She recognized the scent of salt, sea, and flowers.

For a few moments, Grace stayed still, allowing her senses to absorb everything around her instead of using her powers to instantly scan the area. She could have seen through the blindfold if she wanted. As a Divine Ascendant, something as simple as darkness couldn’t stop her perception anymore.

But she didn’t.

Because this was Davian. And whatever he planned, she wanted to experience it properly.

The sound of crashing waves echoed nearby, rhythmic and calming as they struck against rocks somewhere below. The wind moved freely around her, carrying traces of blooming flowers and the faint warmth of sunlight. Somewhere in the distance, mutated seabirds cried softly above the ocean.

It felt like a peaceful place, as well as beautiful and isolated.

Grace could already guess they were somewhere near the sea, perhaps even on an island, but before she could think further, warm fingers reached behind her head and untied the blindfold gently.

Light returned, forcing her to blink once. And then she froze.

An endless blue ocean stretched before her beneath a golden sunset sky. The sea glittered like liquid gold where the sunlight touched it, waves crashing softly against dark cliffs below. Wildflowers danced in the breeze around her while enormous white trees lined the edges of the shore, their leaves glowing faintly with natural elemental energy.

It was breathtaking.

For several seconds, Grace simply stared silently at the view before slowly turning toward Davian. He stood a few steps away, watching her with that calm, warm smile she loved so much. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

But then, she noticed movement behind him, and her gaze shifted farther back before widening in surprise.

High above the shoreline, built along the side of a massive cliff overlooking the endless sea, stood an enormous villa crafted from black stone and crystal glass. Sunlight reflected beautifully across its surface while waterfalls cascaded naturally down parts of the cliff surrounding it.

And standing on one of the balconies were Rune and Kian.

Grace blinked in confusion, looking between the house and the three men. "What is this?" she asked softly with genuine surprise filling her voice.

Davian only smiled knowingly.

The next second, space rippled beside her as Rune appeared instantly at her side. His fingers slipped naturally into hers while his eyes softened warmly as he looked at her. "This island is ours," he said quietly. "We secured it a few years ago during one of the reclamation missions. There are no cities, no councils, no wars. Just us."

He pointed toward the villa behind him. "And that home belongs to us too."

Grace looked genuinely speechless. After twenty years of endless battles, responsibilities, bloodshed, leadership, and carrying the fate of an entire planet on her shoulders, she was now looking at a place her men had quietly built a place just for her.

Just for them.

Rune squeezed her hand gently before leading her toward the villa while Davian walked beside them. The path upward curved naturally through flowering trees and glowing gardens filled with spiritual plants that clearly hadn’t existed there naturally before.

Kian had definitely designed some of this.

The closer they got to the villa, the more Grace realized how much thought had gone into every detail. The architecture blended modern elegance with natural beauty, allowing the ocean breeze and sunlight to flow freely through open spaces and enormous windows.

It felt warm and alive... like home.

The moment Grace stepped inside the villa, she slowed.

The interior was beautiful. Soft lighting illuminated spacious rooms decorated with crystal, wood, and flowing fabrics. Massive windows overlooked the ocean from nearly every corner of the house. Bookshelves lined entire walls while living plants and elemental crystals added warmth and color throughout the space.

It wasn’t luxurious in an overwhelming way. Instead, it was comfortable, peaceful, and built for a family.

Grace turned around slowly, emotion flickering in her eyes as she looked at the three men standing behind her. But the moment she fully faced them, all three suddenly lowered themselves onto one knee.

She froze, both at the sight and at the knowledge of what was coming next.

Rune, Davian, and Kian - each of them held a small ring box in their hands. And then, they opened them. Three different rings gleamed beneath the sunlight pouring through the windows.

And for the first time in a very long time, Grace genuinely forgot how to speak.

Davian looked up at her first, his deep voice calm but filled with unmistakable emotion. "You saved our world."

Rune smiled faintly beside him. "You carried everyone on your shoulders for so long."

Kian’s eyes softened as he spoke next. "Now let us spend the rest of our lives carrying that burden with you."

Grace felt her chest tighten painfully. Not from sadness, but from happiness so overwhelming that for a moment she couldn’t breathe properly.

Then Rune spoke again. "Grace Blackwood..."

Davian continued softly. "Will you marry us?"

Kian smiled warmly as he added his own words. "And build a future with us?"

A quiet laugh escaped Grace before she could stop it. It’s not that the moment was funny, but because her heart genuinely felt too full to contain everything she was feeling right now.

Twenty years ago, she had been one of the many survivors trying to live through the apocalypse. And now she stood here with the three men she loved most in the universe asking her to spend forever with them.

Her eyes shimmered slightly as she extended her hand toward them.

"Yes."

The single word carried everything she felt - relief, love, happiness... home.

One by one, the three men slid their rings onto her finger. The moment the final ring settled into place, the rings suddenly began glowing.

Grace blinked in surprise as silver, black, and gold light intertwined together before the three separate rings slowly merged into one breathtaking engagement ring. A massive gem rested at its center, shimmering with colors that resembled entire galaxies trapped inside crystal.

2025 immediately spoke.

[Scanning...]

[Unknown Cosmic Mineral Detected.]

A pause followed, then the system sounded almost stunned.

[Confirmed.]

[Central gemstone originates from remnants of a collapsed celestial star estimated to have died approximately 14.7 million years ago.]

Even Grace blinked while 2025 continued immediately.

[This mineral is considered extinct across 97.3% of known galaxies.]

Rune smirked slightly. "Took us three years to find it."

Grace smiled softly through the tears threatening her eyes before pulling all three men into a tight embrace.

They kissed her gently one after another, and for the first time in decades, Grace truly felt at peace.

Rune rested his forehead lightly against hers afterward, his voice quieter now. "I’m really looking forward to this," he admitted softly. "Marrying you. Building a home together. A real family."

His gaze briefly shifted toward Davian and Kian before returning to her as he added, "All of us."

Kian smiled warmly beside them. "So," he asked gently, "what date do you want for the wedding?"

Grace opened her mouth to answer. But suddenly, 2025’s voice echoed sharply through the villa.

[Incoming Emergency Transmission Detected.]

All four of them paused as several holographic screens appeared instantly around the room.

A star map unfolded in the air. Then a nearby planet inside their solar system began flashing red.

2025’s voice turned serious.

[Alert received from neighboring planetary guardian system.]

The screens shifted rapidly, revealing collapsing cities, infected creatures, emergency broadcasts, and spreading chaos.

Grace’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"...Another apocalypse?"

[Confirmed.]

The system paused briefly before continuing.

[Estimated outbreak escalation timeline: twenty days until full planetary collapse.]

Another screen appeared.

[Request for interstellar assistance has been broadcast throughout nearby galaxies.]

Silence filled the villa for a moment. Then, 2025’s tone softened slightly, almost teasing.

[Host, would you like to begin another adventure?]

Grace stared at the flashing planet for several quiet seconds. And then slowly, a smile spread across her lips.

Rune groaned out loud as he gave her a narrowed look. "You can’t be serious right now."

"But it will be fun." Grace defended only for him to dramatically shook his head.

Meanwhile Davian and Kian just smiled, already knowing their plans needed some changes.

THE END!
