"Why is he learning to drive a speedboat?" Gu Qiaoqiao put down the plain white soup bowl and asked in confusion.

"I’m not sure either." Qin Yize replied slowly.

The reason wasn’t important to him.

Gu Qiaoqiao’s clear eyes shifted slightly, and she thought for a moment, "Ling Nan, aside from being obsessed with martial arts, actually likes driving cars quite a bit. But I’ve never heard of him liking speedboats, and if he’s going back to the ranch with Uncle, he wouldn’t need to drive one there."

At this point, Gu Qiaoqiao seemed to understand something, her eyes brightened, "I know, it must be Uncle who asked him to learn."

"Makes sense, Ling Nan always listens to Uncle."

"But why would Uncle want him to learn how to drive a speedboat?"

"No matter the reason, learning more is always good. It’s rare for Ling Nan to be eager to learn, I’ll find him a good teacher."

At this moment, the two were sitting on the floor of their bedroom balcony, where a beautifully woven carpet was laid out, patterned with peonies, those mortal world symbols of wealth, surrounded by intricate edges. The plush fibers were quite long, making it extremely comfortable to sit on.

There were more heaters installed upstairs compared to downstairs, because downstairs there was a Ground Fire Dragon system, which only worked for the first floor, so upstairs had to have more heaters. The outdoor temperature was extremely cold this early spring, though indoors it was as warm as spring.

Qin Yize placed Gu Qiaoqiao’s empty soup bowl on the coffee table by the balcony, then carefully helped Gu Qiaoqiao to lie down, urging her to place her legs on his lap and began to massage gently.

His technique was, of course, not as good as Gu Qiaoqiao’s.

When he studied medicine then, he only lightly touched upon clinical practices, being more interested in biochemical medicine research. Over the years, he made tremendous contributions to the national pharmaceutical industry, earning him a special national medal.

Some of his work could be publicized, while some would never be disclosed; he was destined to be an unsung hero, primarily for safety reasons.

However, Qin Yize didn’t care about these things. He felt that learning diverse skills was worthwhile, and fortunately, his formidable intelligence allowed him to understand human acupoints thoroughly after merely two days of study.

Though his massage couldn’t heal ailments, it could certainly relieve Gu Qiaoqiao’s fatigue.

Given she’s pregnant now, even if her health is good, it’s still different from usual. One must cherish their own wife.

Gu Qiaoqiao half-closed her eyes, humming softly, evidently quite satisfied, her demeanor languid, "Ah Ze, your massage makes me feel so much better; the fatigue fades away instantly."

"That’s great!"

Encouraged by Gu Qiaoqiao, Qin Yize continued the massage with even more enthusiasm.

Massages do have time limits, though, as he glanced at the moonlight outside, Qin Yize casually said, "Once the weather warms up a bit, and Southern regions experience the warmth of spring, I’d like to take you to Sky Sea City for a stroll."

"Sky Sea City?" Gu Qiaoqiao lifted her eyelids, gazing at the man massaging her with elegantly bony hands, her voice soft and gentle, "Ah Ze, are you taking me there for fun?" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

"Half and half."

"What do you mean by half and half?" Gu Qiaoqiao asked, intrigued.

"A few years ago, Great Grandfather bought a piece of land there, intended for investment. However, plans were delayed due to various reasons. I think after about a month, you’ll be able to go out. Later, when you’re further along or after the baby is born, it won’t be as convenient as now."

Gu Qiaoqiao wrinkled her nose and suddenly kicked towards Qin Yize, playfully chiding, "Hmph, it’s all your fault!"

Even though she’s in good shape, being pregnant now poses many inconveniences. Though sweet in her heart, she wouldn’t show it overtly.

Qin Yize was quick-eyed and immediately caught Gu Qiaoqiao’s foot. Qiaoqiao’s feet were strikingly pretty, the curved nails shimmering with a faint cherry pink under the light.

Without hesitation, he placed her feet against his cheek, his voice husky, "It’s my fault, of course, you’re pregnant because of me."

Though he said so, the tone carried an unmistakable pride evident even to a fool.

Gu Qiaoqiao grumbled a few lines in mild protest, yet didn’t pull away, especially since the massage felt quite nice.

Thus, her feet were held within his hands, kneaded for a good while.

After attending to Gu Qiaoqiao’s grooming and completing breakfast, Gu Qiaoqiao finally understood the previous day’s events, "Ah Ze, I know why Uncle wants Ling Nan to learn speedboating."

"Why?" Qin Yize asked cooperatively.

"Uncle is also going to Sky Sea City. He mentioned a friend there, but due to various reasons, he couldn’t visit before."

"Oh." Qin Yize raised an eyebrow; this he wasn’t aware of. He picked up Qiaoqiao’s handbag, holding her little hand. Before heading out of the restaurant, the Great Grandfather and Xiao Yuan had already left, and he kissed Qiaoqiao’s cheek, lavishly praising, "My wife’s smart, thought it over for a whole night and finally figured it out."

"Of course." Gu Qiaoqiao said with a hint of pride.

Naively unaware of Qin Yize’s teasing.

As the saying goes, pregnancy might dumb one down for three years.

They both walked side-by-side towards the garage.

"Are you busy today?" Qin Yize asked.

Gu Qiaoqiao thought for a moment, and since today wasn’t overly busy, she replied, "...It’s manageable, not much going on."

"After you nap in the afternoon, I’ll pick you up and we’ll go to the mall. During this period, our little darling will grow rapidly." Qin Yize said, smiling.

"Sure." Gu Qiaoqiao agreed, as her petite figure was sprightly and despite being five months pregnant, it wasn’t noticeable under a down jacket. From behind, she still looked like a young girl. Though personally indifferent, she knew that the child would grow bigger eventually, requiring maternity wear.

It’s something she cared little about, nearly overlooked without Qin Yize’s suggestion.

"Oh, Ah Ze, if you truly want to go to Sky Sea City, let’s go with Uncle."

Qin Yize eagerly nodded, he welcomed the idea, "Good, I’ll make sure Ling Nan learns quickly."

Initially, he planned for a gradual pace, but upon realizing Uncle Gu’s intentions, Qin Yize thought the instructor for Ling Nan to be a bit too gentle.

He decided it’s better to switch to another teacher.

This was simple.

One phone call resolved it all.

Following this, the couple shared a wry smile and drove away from Qin Family’s Courtyard.

Meanwhile, inside a car heading from Gu Garden to the research institute, Ling Nan felt a bit cold as he drove with his head down. Puzzled he thought, going to Sky Sea City is fine, but why learn speedboating?
