Rebirth in the 50s: The Couple with the Hidden Space
Chapter 941 - 814: The Three Little Strongmen
The next morning, the first bugle sounded, and the Zhou Family Courtyard was as usual, with a little figure standing in the courtyard, moving his hands and feet and shouting good morning when he saw the three running out one after another.
Zhou Jiao was the last to pat him on the head, "Wait for me to come back."
Little Ping’an grinned, watched her run away, and quickly got into a horse stance, just in time to practice punches when his mom returns.
As time ticked by, the early rising twins had their milk and, with Aunt Sun’s help, propped up the stroller, cautiously stepping their little legs into the courtyard.
"Brother." The twins saw Ping’an in the courtyard, and in unison, raised their heads to call him, and accidentally, "splat" fell to the ground.
The little pair didn’t cry, but giggled at each other, patting their little hands, grabbing the stroller, and standing up again.
Aunt Sun held the stroller steady, smiling as she watched them stand up again, "Don’t shout for brother, your mom will spank your butts, you know."
"Bad!"
"Spank!" Wu yelled, reaching out his chubby right hand to touch his butt.
Aunt Sun was amused to no end, nodding repeatedly, "Yes, if you make noise your brother, your mom will spank you. Behave and listen, your mom will give you Guoguo."
The little Doudings blinked their big eyes, unsure if they understood, turned towards the East Wing, and soon after, immediately pushed the stroller towards Ping’an.
"Brother."
"Play brother."
Aunt Sun stayed by their side, and as they got close, she quickly grabbed the stroller.
Liu couldn’t move it with a tug and cast his puzzled big eyes at the stroller. Wu on the right pushed again and still couldn’t move it, so he looked at his brother Liu.
"Pull!"
When Liu heard him, he grabbed the edge of the stroller, the pair of brothers pulled hard outward, "crack," the wood broke, and the pair fell to either side of the stroller.
The two brothers on the ground raised the wooden pieces in their hands and shook them at Aunt Sun, "It’s broken."
"Stroller’s broken!" Wu said and immediately tossed it aside.
Watching the stroller that lost its side rails, Aunt Sun was dumbfounded at the brothers. How their strength was growing stronger! Without realizing the different reactions of the two children to the event.
— Liu’s "It’s broken" and Wu’s pushing blame for the stroller breaking were two completely different concepts.
The brothers looked at Aunt Sun, immediately got up wobbly from the sides of the stroller, and staggered towards Ping’an.
"Oh, little darlings, slow down, be careful of falling."
At Aunt Sun’s loud shout, the brothers "plop" fell again as they turned their heads, angrily shouting "Bad. (Spank.)" at the approaching Aunt Sun.
Ping’an, finishing his horse stance, turned around, looked at his two brothers, frowned in an adult-like manner, and ran over to carefully check their little hands.
"Does it hurt?"
"No it doesn’t."
Ping’an watched his brothers shaking their heads. Falling like this didn’t hurt, pretty silly.
"Little Ping’an, I didn’t notice for a moment, and the stroller was ruined by the twins. This costs dozens of bucks, what to do now?"
Ping’an knew she worried about being blamed by the family. Glancing at Aunt Sun checking his brothers’ knees, he comforted her, "Grandma Sun, as long as my brothers are fine. We can fix it and still use it."
"Got to spend money again. I shouldn’t have let them walk by themselves earlier; the stroller broke, and the babies fell several times."
Ping’an watched her with a pained expression and grinned as he reassured her, "Grandma Sun, my mom said when I was little I often walked on my own and fell a lot, didn’t take long before I could run."
"Don’t know what to say about your mom. She seems to care for you all, but what kind of mother doesn’t pick up kids when they fall? Luckily our twins brothers are strong."
Ping’an: "..."
"Liu, Wu, how about Grandma Sun takes you to play with the dada?"
"No, bird." Liu clearly pointed at the pigeons and sparrows on the eaves, excitedly giggling. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Wu followed his chubby brother’s little hand, grabbing Ping’an pointing above, "Brother, want brother."
Ping’an laughed heartily, "That’s a pigeon, not brother."
"Pigeon."
Seeing the brothers genuinely didn’t want to leave, Ping’an held their little hands, "Grandma Sun, could you please fetch a big mat to lay here, so the brothers can sit here and play?"
"Alright. You watch them, I’ll be right back."
Watching her head indoors, the brothers still fussing over wanting the pigeon, Ping’an helplessly coaxed, "Brother will ask Grandma Chen to make egg custard for you, okay?"
"I want Guoguo."
"Not Guoguo, it’s fruit." Ping’an corrected immediately, "Be good and listen, wait for mom to come back to eat the fruit."
"Bad!"
"Can’t say bad things, and don’t always talk about spanking. Good kids don’t insult others; grown-ups will like them."
Aunt Sun hurriedly ran out with a rolled-up mat and a bag of toys, "Little Ping’an, the twins are for me to take care of, you quickly go practice boxing, otherwise if your mom sees you didn’t practice, she will be angry."
"I’ll wait until my mom comes before practicing." Ping’an said, glancing at her, "Nothing is more important than my two brothers."
"Our Little Ping’an is really sensible, really a good brother." Aunt Sun laid the mat down, picked up the twins onto it, and handed them toys, finally getting the little darlings to quiet down. She breathed a sigh of relief, waved to Ping’an, "Good child, Grandma Sun is here, go practice boxing."
Jogging home, Zhou Jiao returned to see her eldest son practicing boxing, the two little ones sitting on the ground eating snacks, glanced at the stroller missing its rails and sighed inwardly.
— What was coming had finally come!
"Mom, eat."
"Mom, hug."
Aunt Sun, feeding the children, saw her and immediately smiled, "Jiao Jiao, I wasn’t paying attention, and the stroller was ruined by the little ones."
"As long as the people are fine." Zhou Jiao gestured at her body, "Mom smells bad, let me wash my face first..."
Liu and Wu wouldn’t wait for her to finish, pushed Aunt Chen and Aunt Sun aside, and crawled swiftly to her, grabbing her legs at once.
"Mom kiss..."
"Hug."
Zhou Jiao immediately crouched to hug her two sons, seeing the smiles on their faces, could not help but feel better. Strength doesn’t matter!
Sitting on the ground, Zhou Jiao kissed the sons snuggled close, "Eat first, mom will accompany you."
Seeing Zhou Jiao really sit beside them, the little ones immediately quieted down, eating spoonfuls of custard, their eyes never leaving her.
Zhou Jiao saw this, took the bowl from Aunt Sun, and fed the children, contemplating whether to find some clay for them to practice with.
After bathing the three sons, settling them in their room to play, Zhou Jiao trimmed her hair in front of the mirror while discussing with Zhang Guoqing where to find clean clay.
This wasn’t Zhang Guoqing’s first time hearing about clean clay. When Ping’an was little, he was dispatched by his wife once and understood clean clay meant clay without grass and gravel.
After much discussion, both decided to report to work first, then he would dig deep mud out by the outskirts, and Zhou Jiao would bring some soybeans back for their sons to practice making tofu.
