Rebirth in the 80's: The Daily Life of the Villain's Mom
Chapter 585: Is There Anything You Especially Want to Eat?
The heavy snow drifted down all night long.
Jiang Ran looked across at the eaves opposite, seeing the snow piled up there, more than ten centimeters thick.
Such thick snow had fallen overnight; if it continued to fall today, one could only imagine how thick it would get.
It was quite beautiful, but if the house wasn’t sturdy enough, it could easily have problems due to the snow’s weight.
Fortunately, the house had been thoroughly renovated once before they moved in.
Every tile was extremely solid, absolutely not prone to being crushed.
Jiang Ran was staring outside when she suddenly saw Pei Jing wrapped up tightly, running past her window.
On such a cold day, some kids tend to stay in bed longer.
But Pei Jing was clearly among the few exceptions.
Not only did he not linger in bed, he even got up at his usual time.
Since Pei Jing was already dressed and running outside, Pei Huai must have risen as well.
Jiang Ran snapped out of her daze, went to the door of her room, and opened it.
The house might not have been as warm as a spring day, but it was quite cozy.
However, with the door open, a gust of cold wind rushed in, mixed with some snowflakes, sending a shiver through her.
The not-so-clear-headed Jiang Ran was instantly awoken as the snowflakes hit her face.
Pei Jing had just reached the living room door and hadn’t even lifted the curtain when he heard the sound of the door opening and turned to look.
Upon seeing Jiang Ran standing at the doorway, Pei Jing happily called out, "Mom."
His voice was soft and tender, with a hint of childish sweetness. Hearing it so early in the morning, even without eating anything, it felt incredibly sweet.
Jiang Ran beckoned to Pei Jing, "Little Jing, come, let’s go wash up."
Pei Jing ran back with a smile but said to Jiang Ran, "Mom, Dad and I have already washed up."
Hearing this, Jiang Ran also smiled.
Having Dad around really makes a difference.
No need to take him herself.
Since it was still snowing outside and the wind was blowing coldly, Jiang Ran quickly sent Pei Jing to the living room, while she headed to the bathroom.
After Jiang Ran finished washing up and passed Pei Huai’s door, she gently knocked, but there was no sound from inside, indicating no one was in the room.
Where was Pei Huai?
Curiously, Jiang Ran changed direction and headed toward the living room.
As soon as she entered the living room, she caught the faint smell of sweetness.
It was the aroma of sweet porridge.
This sweetness came from the prolonged cooking of red dates, a naturally fragrant sweetness unlike that added with sugar.
Someone was cooking porridge in the kitchen, and they were doing an excellent job.
Jiang Ran looked up and saw Pei Yang and others sitting on the sofa.
Since they were all sitting in the living room, it was obvious who was in the kitchen cooking.
Jiang Ran smiled at them and greeted them, continuing her steps directly towards the kitchen.
The others just exchanged glances, smiles appearing on their faces.
By this time, Jiang Ran had reached the kitchen door. She pushed open the small door and entered; amid the mist, she saw Pei Huai’s tall figure.
Pei Huai was busy and didn’t look up.
Yet as soon as he spoke, it was to Jiang Ran.
"Ranran, you’re awake? Is there anything particular you’d like to eat?"
Jiang Ran wasn’t in the least surprised that Pei Huai guessed it was her.
