Rebirth in the 80's: The Daily Life of the Villain's Mom
Chapter 595: Boyish Charm
Pei Huai’s hands were not actually cold.
It’s unclear whether it was because he had just come out from indoors, or perhaps he was simply not afraid of the cold.
The two of them stood outside, hands exposed to the air, but as time slowly passed, neither of their hands felt cold.
On the contrary, because they had been holding them together, they were even slightly sweaty.
But even so, neither of them spoke about letting go.
After dark, the snow began to fall again.
It wasn’t completely dark outside, as the lights were on under the corridor, casting reflections on the snow, making some things still visible.
It’s just that now everything was covered by the heavy snow, everything in sight was pure white.
The night was even quieter, you could clearly hear the sound of snow falling.
Unlike the sound of rain, the gentle sound of snowflakes landing was rather pleasant.
Jiang Ran always loved the snow, and loved watching it fall even more.
Apart from the inconvenience of going out, there was really nothing wrong with snowy days.
Pei Huai glanced around and said to Jiang Ran, "Want to go for a walk?"
Though the courtyard seemed calm and quiet, as if there were only the two of them.
Pei Huai was certain that the family had not yet gone to bed.
Perhaps someone was peeking out from the window, watching through the gap in the curtains.
Jiang Ran laughed upon hearing Pei Huai’s suggestion.
No need for Pei Huai to elaborate, Jiang Ran understood why he made the suggestion.
Jiang Ran nodded, "Sure, let’s go."
A stroll was just a stroll.
They could just as well head to the East Courtyard.
No need to worry about Pei Jing sleeping inside, as he never kicked off the covers and wouldn’t wake up all night.
Moreover, when they went to the East Courtyard, someone would surely come to Pei Huai’s room to look after Pei Jing.
As for who that person was... it didn’t matter.
As they walked from the moon gate towards the East Courtyard, their footsteps crunched in the accumulated snow.
This was after they cleared the path during the day.
Otherwise, by now their ankles might have been entirely buried.
Upon reaching the East Courtyard, the surroundings grew even quieter.
This courtyard was indeed devoid of others, just the two of them.
Perhaps when in love, people are not afraid of the cold.
The two of them had no intention of going indoors, and sat on the benches under the corridor.
Sitting side by side, all four hands were placed on the hand warmer.
To better see the view, Jiang Ran turned on two lamps in the corridor.
The gentle lamplight reflected on the snow, causing it to glisten.
The light reflected off the snow onto their faces, making their skin appear a few shades lighter.
Pei Huai’s complexion wasn’t particularly fair.
Though handsome, his features were sharp and defined and his skin wasn’t very pale, giving off a slightly unapproachable aura.
But now, with the light casting on his face, his skin appeared a few shades whiter, and his features seemed softer, less intimidating.
Jiang Ran stared at him for a while and then laughed.
"You, like this, look a bit like a beautiful youth now."
Never mind that Pei Huai already had a son over four years old, he was already a father, yet he still retained a strong sense of youthfulness.
Especially now, anyone unacquainted with him would never guess he was already a father.
