Rebirth in the 90s: Melting My Devoted Mr. Iceberg
Chapter 1080: Heart Fluttering with Spring Feelings
Hearing Jiang Xue say this, Bai Yuhua and Mu Siwu couldn’t say much more, so they just smiled and saw them off.
Fortunately, Jiang Family Village isn’t far away, and walking doesn’t take too long either. Moreover, there are buses now; it takes just over ten minutes by bus.
Returning to Jiang Family Village, since no one had lived there for a long time, the house looked a bit neglected, and the lock on the courtyard gate was rusty. But luckily, it could still be opened; otherwise, they would have had to pry it open.
Upon entering the courtyard, the house was covered in dust. So, Jiang Xue put their things aside and started cleaning with her parents.
After cleaning until around five or six o’clock, they finally tidied up the place. The house appeared refreshed and new.
Having finished cleaning, another problem arose: there was no rice, flour, or vegetables at home, and they had no idea how to manage dinner.
Fortunately, at this moment, Uncle Jiang from next door knew they had returned and kindly brought over some rice, flour, and greens.
Jiang Xue thanked Uncle Jiang and then went into the kitchen to help her parents prepare the meal. After eating a bit, she headed back home.
Originally, Father Jiang and Mrs. Jiang wanted Jiang Xue to stay overnight, but Jiang Xue didn’t agree. Although there were no more buses at night, walking back wasn’t far. Besides, with her current skills, she didn’t need to worry about encountering any trouble.
Seeing Jiang Xue insist on leaving, Father Jiang and Mrs. Jiang had to agree, but they repeatedly reminded her to be careful on the road.
Jiang Xue agreed with a smile, and then she left her parents’ house under the cover of night. At the Mu Family, Mu Siwu and Bai Yuhua saw that Jiang Xue had not returned by nightfall, so they assumed she wouldn’t be back and closed the courtyard gate early.
Who would have thought that just as they were getting ready to put their grandson to sleep, they heard a knock on the door. Mu Siwu went to open the door and found it was Jiang Xue, so he said, "Xue’er, why didn’t you stay overnight at your parents’ house?"
Once Jiang Xue entered the house, Bai Yuhua looked at her and said, "Xue’er, you’re a young girl; you shouldn’t come home so late next time. It’s not safe on the road. If you want to come back, call, and let your dad come pick you up."
Jiang Xue smiled sweetly and said, "Okay, if I’m ever coming home late again, I’ll call Dad and let him pick me up."
Hearing Jiang Xue say this, Bai Yuhua said no more and carried Little Reunion into the room. Jiang Xue noticed they wanted to sleep with their son, so she smiled, went to her room, got her clothes, and took a shower.
When she finished her shower, her in-laws’ room was already dark.
Back in her room, while lying down, Jiang Xue couldn’t sleep, so she took out her phone and called Mu Qiancheng. Coincidentally, Mu Qiancheng hadn’t rested yet, having just returned from training and about to shower. Seeing his wife’s call, he picked it up without hesitation.
The couple talked for a while. Knowing Mu Qiancheng hadn’t showered yet, Jiang Xue urged him to hang up and quickly go shower.
It was the height of summer, and after a day of training, he was sweaty; there was no way he could be comfortable without washing up. Although Jiang Xue wanted to talk to Mu Qiancheng longer, the thought of his sticky discomfort made her feel for him, so she hung up quickly.
Seeing the call end, Mu Qiancheng slightly curled his lips. While he was feeling happy, an unwelcome voice rang in his ear: "Qian Cheng, what’s making you so happy? You’re all rosy-cheeked."
Mu Qiancheng turned around to see Gong Bei standing next to him without him noticing. Glancing at him, Mu Qiancheng said nothing and turned to take a shower.
