Bella Green turned sideways and looked at Mason Bennett.

"Then do you know they’re not my parents?"

Mason Bennett shook his head. That part, he hadn’t looked into.

He’d even thought Michael Green and Chloe Johnson really were Bella Green’s biological parents.

Bella suddenly laughed. She really did find it ridiculous.

"Turns out I’m my mother’s..." Bella paused. Now, when the word "mother" came out of her mouth, it actually felt a bit awkward.

But she couldn’t bring herself to call her by her name.

"Turns out she stole me from the Lawrence Family."

A flicker of surprise flashed in Mason Bennett’s eyes.

When he first found out Matthew Lawrence was Bella Green’s father, he had indeed been a little shocked.

But he never would’ve thought it was Chloe Johnson who stole her from the Lawrence Family...

"She really was good to me. They treated me just like their own daughter, that good."

Bella went on, her voice calm, but the redness in her eyes betrayed the turmoil inside her.

"Don’t think about it anymore. Whatever the reason was, it doesn’t matter now."

Mason Bennett said.

Bella was stunned for a moment, then nodded.

Yeah, it didn’t matter. Whatever the reason was, it didn’t matter anymore.

She had no intention of going back to the Lawrence Family. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Chances were, the people in that house didn’t even know she existed.

Even Matthew Lawrence was most likely acknowledging her with some ulterior motive.

Family like that, she’d rather stay far away from.

Besides, she had Mason Bennett now, and her parents, and Grandma.

What would she need them for?

"But they did raise me for so many years. Whatever they did back then, it’s in the past. When Matthew Lawrence lets them go, help me send them somewhere safe, okay?"

She said lightly.

No matter what, feelings built up over more than ten years couldn’t just vanish because she said so.

But to ask Bella to treat them with complete normalcy again would be very difficult too.

So the best choice was to try not to see each other anymore.

It wasn’t that she was heartless; she just felt that this would be what’s best for Michael Green and Chloe Johnson.

And it was also the way to best ensure their safety.

As for how she would face them in the future, Bella hadn’t figured that out yet.

Mason Bennett watched the girl staring off blankly, not knowing what she was thinking.

He lowered his head and kissed her between the brows, his voice gentle.

"I’ll make arrangements."

Bella lifted her head and looked at the man’s handsome face so close to hers. Suddenly, she raised her hand and hooked it around his neck.

"Mason, sleep with me for a while. I’m so tired."

The girl spoke in a murmur with her eyes closed.

Her voice was full of exhaustion.

Mason Bennett softly agreed, then took off his shoes and got into bed as well.

He pulled Bella’s slender body into his arms.

In that warm, broad embrace, Bella’s emotions were miraculously soothed.

This embrace made her feel at ease; it was as if in his arms, she didn’t have to worry about anything.

Even if the sky fell, he would handle it.

She slept straight through until dark. It wasn’t until Old Mrs. Bennett sent someone to call them down for dinner that Bella slowly woke up.

After a quick wash-up, she went downstairs.

In the dining room, everyone was there except Victor Bennett.

Bella smiled and called out, "Dad, Mom, Grandma."

Noah Bennett looked at Bella, his brows knitting slightly as he gave her a once-over, clearly displeased.

"You’ve lost weight."

Bella froze for a moment, not expecting Noah Bennett to notice that.

She couldn’t help but chuckle, then playfully blinked.

"Losing weight is great. Saves Brother Li from nagging me about controlling my weight all the time. Looks like I can eat a bit more today."
