Chapter 396: Battle against a D Rank Fluxmancer! [5]

When Leon thought of creating a Psionic Bomb within the dreamscape, he didn’t think too deeply about it.

He never thought of creating a blueprint out of it.

His only inspiration for it was NetRunners.

Afterall, he was facing an enemy that could literally manipulate dreams as a form of energy manipulation. This enemy could manipulate radiation, he could also weaponize superheated ionized gas to attack.

In terms of defense and offense, with Plasmakinesis, this Quantum Shaper was more or less stacked.

He was a well-rounded and terrifying enemy.

The only weakness that Leon saw was his mind. Compared to Mechanists and NetRunners, Quantum Shapers have less emphasis on the WIL and INT attributes. Their greatest focus was on their core attribute, the ADE attribute.

Afterall, a lot of ADE was needed to weave the seams of this dreamscape.

In the heat of battle struggling between life and death, the desperation of the battle made Leon think. ’If he can survive a nuclear bomb, what if I create a bomb that targets his mind?’

’Afterall, his power is his mind!’

’If his mind is compromised, his supremacy in the dream will also be compromised’.

’The dream will unravel!’

This was what necessitated Leon to think of a true psionic bomb that was believable, something that he truly believed in, flexing his creativity.

And in the process of somehow imagining it into reality, his technicality ended up coming up with a fragment of a blueprint though that was never his focus in the first place.

But unlike with the nuclear bomb, Leon really couldn’t think of an armor that could save him from the force of a psionic bomb.

Afterall, this was not a physical attack, but a bomb with more emphasis on a mental shock that affected the mind.

And he couldn’t just think of unrealistic things within the dreamscape. Afterall, the dreamscape had a rule set that it followed. For it to come to reality, he had to believe in what he imagined.

What this meant was that just like the enemy, he was going to face the psionic bomb head-first!

Both of them were battered, wounded, and bleeding- Leon from the past few minutes of torture and battle, the assassin from that single instant of withstanding a nuclear bomb head-on even with his C Rank density ADE.

But beggars are not choosers.

A scarred man knows no fear, and right now Leon was a scarred man.

He didn’t care if alongside his opponent, the psionic bomb was going to obliterate his mind too.

What mattered was dealing as much damage as possible to the enemy.

He didn’t pay too much attention to the thread of ChronoSystem notifications after getting what he wanted, what mattered was that he was able to create a Psionic Bomb.

And finally, it detonated within the sky of the dreamscape.

And for one unforgettable second, the battlefield suddenly fell into absolute silence as if the world itself had forgotten how to move.

The ruined terrain of the dreamscape trembled beneath an invisible pressure as broken and half-evaporated buildings leaned at unnatural angles, while rivers of burning coolant snaked through the shattered streets.

Smoke hung low like a dying sky in the vague dreamscape that seemed to be unraveling at its seams.

Then reality screamed.

BUZZZZZ!

And then a pulse erupted from the bomb’s core within the sky!

This was not fire, not light either, but a raw psychic force that was made tangible.

BZZZZT!

The air folded inward violently, compressing with a sound that was like a billion whispers being crushed together!

Every loose fragment of debris within the dreamscape rose into the air simultaneously, from shattered concrete to twisted metal, and even droplets of blood suspended mid-fall.

Then, the detonation expanded in a perfect violent sphere.

BOOM!

The buildings that survived the initial nuclear blast did not merely collapse, they unraveled like pixels being peeled from a digital picture!

Steel beams twisted like soft clay under the assault of impossible mental pressure! The air trembled, the ground convulsed in jagged ripples, entire sections of terrain lifting upward as though some colossal entity beneath the earth was trying to claw its way free.

The sky fractured into impossible colors.

Lightning made of translucent thought arced through the clouds, illuminating the dreamscape in flashes of violet and pale white.

Every sound became distorted- screams echoed backward, and the roar of the explosion itself lingered long after the blast had passed as though time itself had become wounded!

At the center of the detonation, the earth peeled open as the crater from the previous nuclear bomb expanded, blooming outward through the already devastated landscape, consuming everything!

The edges of the crater glowed with residual psionic energy as reality there became unstable, twitching furiously.

Gravity fluctuated wildly!

Some debris floated upward into the storm-black heavens while other pieces slammed downward hard enough to liquefy stone.

And in the middle of it all, at its heart stood 2 men who survived all the physical manifestations, and then...

Then came the hallucinations.

There were only 2 men caught in the center of the bomb- Leon and his assassin and simultaneously, they both staggered as the psionic wave invaded their consciousness in an overpowering and unstoppable wave.

BZZZZZZT! 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Leon froze for a brief moment, his eyes glazed over, and then memories that were not his own invaded his head in a violent manner!

He saw himself as a Fish, he saw himself living in the wild as a Bear, a Neon Beast. He saw himself within the depths of the Endless Ocean as a Leviathan, a Neon Beast with 50 eyes and 300 arms!

He saw himself as a bird of prey roaming the skies, he saw himself as a prisoner in Hell suffering for eternity.

He saw himself as a tyrant, he saw himself as a slave, he saw himself as a teacher. He saw himself dying to cold, alone and isolated in a mountain range.

Leon lived a thousand lives within a single instant!

And they were not gentle like normal memories were, they were violent, intrusive and obliterating as they ravaged within his mind in a true manifestation of the psionic bomb.

Leon didn’t know what his enemy was feeling, but he felt awful. He felt like dying; the pain, the agony, the shapelessness, the confusion, the disorientation.

"ARGHHH...!" He snarled and clawed at his own face, digging deep with his own fingernails as blood flowed while he collapsed on his knees.

He screamed in a voice that was distorted and was no longer his own.

His eyes opened wide, reflecting the thousand memories now within his brain. His body shuddered violently as his nervous systems were burned clean through by the sheer psychic overload.

The weight of it all was too much, the psychic load was too much, Leon felt his mind tremble at the seams, and then...

And then Leon lost his mind.

Just before he lost his mind though, the world shattered first.
