Chapter 410: General Ren Nora vs General Sylvari Charr [4]

The Federation Army mobilized.

Not to join the battle, they didn’t have the qualifications for it.

Instead, they mobilized to protect the Megacity.

Having received orders from above, the Army mobilized to erect a heavy duty high-caliber energy matrix that spread and protected the entire Eastern end of the city wall in the direction where the C Rank battle was taking place.

Just like Leviathan Quay, Neo Solace had an energy matrix that protected the entire city round, but the Army now stacked a new and different energy matrix to the old one.

This was necessary because if left unprotected, the shockwaves of the ongoing battle alone was enough to eventually tear through the original energy matrix to flatten the sturdy walls of the city.

This was how deadly the aftermath of a C Rank battle can be.

And now, from a distance, hidden behind the safety of the new energy matrix, entire battalions of the Federation Army gathered as they watched the harrowing violence of the battle, tense and apprehensive.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ground quaked.

...

BAM!

Sylvari’s main body finally landed a solid kick on Ren Nora’s torso, sending the Geneform flying into the distance as all 3 of his bodies immediately went in pursuit.

At the same time, collectively, their eyes glowed with violent green light.

Neural Tyrant!

Bzzz!

Ghost-in-the-Machine!

Just before the profane influence of Sylvari’s insidious ability could settle on his mind, Ren Nora disappeared from reality mid-air while his body was tumbling away after the devastating kick.

A moment later, he materialized back in reality, having escaped the influence of the ability as he glared at the 3 silhouettes charging towards him.

He smiled darkly and gripped both daggers tighter, then with an especially violent discharge from his ranged clones at the 3 Sylvaris, he pounced at them to continue the harrowing battle.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

From 1 minute, 2 minutes passed, then 5, then 10!

Minute after minute, neither of the 2 Generals slowed down as instead, they drowned even more in the violent intensity of their battle.

Kilometers across the wasteland was already terraformed in their wake, and in some craters, molten magma flowed out of the earth crust even as volcanic ash gradually spread and saturated the atmosphere!

From a barren and uniform wasteland, the terrain was now turning into what seemed like a deadly ruin of some ancient battle.

Yet, both Generals didn’t pay attention to it.

They continued fighting.

Leon, aching and struggling in pain paid attention to the battle, waiting for the moment when Ren Nora would finally make his final transformation to reveal the form that he knew about, but it never came.

For some reason, it seemed like Ren Nora was either confident in defeating Sylvari like this by outlasting his opponent or he was deliberately hiding his abilities.

Or he never intended to win at all.

Leon was baffled as battling with his own pain, he struggled to follow the battle that was surely going to go down in history.

And while this happened, far and hidden away from the immediate battlefield, floating in the sky was an invisible colossal eye.

This was the true reason why Ren Nora refused to reveal his Shadow Node form. A few minutes into the battle, with his vastly enhanced neural senses and his intimate connection to the psionic realm, he noticed the invisible colossal eye.

Instinctively, he knew what it meant.

He knew who was watching.

This colossal eye is a unique manifestation of the Omnicore Eye, a cutting-edge camera that was connected directly to the heart of the Omnicore Federation hundreds of kilometers away in Spire Prime.

...

Spire Prime, Red House District...

At the heart of the capital Megacity of the Omnicore Federation, a luxurious suite rested above the world like a throne that was suspended in the heavens.

The Red House is the home of the leader of the Federation, located right at the very heart of the Megacity in Red House District. The estate is a towering structure of advanced technology that levitated above the city like an island.

It was constructed in a way that every day when citizens woke up in Spire Prime, they always looked up to the Red House.

It comprised multiple red and white buildings, with the summit of them being the Federation Spire, a crimson and white skyscraper that was so tall that its upper levels vanished into the neon storm clouds populating Spire Prime’s skies.

Within this towering skyscraper at the summit sat the private chamber of the Federation’s Director-Prime, Director-Prime Epsilon.

Thousands of meters below, the city breathed like a living machine.

Rivers of hover traffic streamed between colossal towers, while advertisements the size of hills flickered across the morning in violent colors.

Holographic saints were already up and about, preaching loyalty to the Federation from floating cathedrals of light while surveillance drones drifted silently through the rain.

The city had no knowledge about the historic battle that was currently taking place outside the borders of Neo Solace.

They had no idea that one of the Presidents of the Omnicore Federation was currently fighting the toughest battle of his life far away from home.

The rest of the population may not know as all information was restricted in Neo Solace, but Epsilon knew.

Inside the suite, silence reigned.

His personal chambers was vast enough to resemble the interior of a palace rather than a penthouse.

Black marble floors reflected soft amber lighting hidden beneath the edges of the walls, while sheets of reinforced crystal formed an uninterrupted panoramic window that stretched from floor to window, revealing the endless cybernetic metropolis beyond.

Rare woods blended seamlessly with impossible technology, while relics of ancient wars stood like trophies.

Everything in the room radiated wealth, power, and absolute control.

At the center sat the Director-Prime.

His throne-like chair was massive like it was built for giants, and it was positioned before a suspended holographic display that hovered like a window into another world.

Well, this window led to hundreds of kilometers away, showing live footage of the ongoing battle between Ren Nora and Sylvari.

Epsilon leaned forward slightly, one gloved hand resting against his chin as golden cybernetic lines pulsed faintly beneath the neck of his gray metallic skin.

The footage before him trembled violently as the hidden reconnaissance camera far beyond Spire Prime struggled to maintain focus as the 2 monstrous figures tore apart an entire wasteland.

BZZZZZT!

Static rippled across the hologram, but it was still clear and to Epsilon, that was all that he needed.

His gray cybernetic eyes glowed green, then gold and white, following every single detail of the battle.

Then they narrowed.

With a sigh, he leaned back on his throne-like chair and tapped at the air, giving a command.

Ring... Ring...

He rang a number.

{Outgoing Call to Murphy...}

Barely a few seconds after the call started ringing, the person at the other end answered and a bubbly, weirdly excited voice sounded.

"Director, you called!"

Epsilon’s mechanical lips twitched, then he said...

...
