Reborn As Noble
Chapter 1298: Glistening Skin, Greedy Eyes ( )
That night.
Other continent.
Zeyrinda woke up with a sharp gasp, sitting up in bed, her face pale and drenched in cold sweat. Her chest heaved as she tried to steady her breathing, her hands gripping the blanket tightly.
She glanced to her side. Julius was sleeping peacefully, naked beside her, his breathing slow and steady.
She slipped out of bed slowly, her bare feet touching the cold floor. Her body was still glistening with a thin sheen of sweat, her skin warm from the nightmare. She reached for a thin, silk robe draped over a nearby chair, slipping it over her shoulders. The fabric was sheer and revealing, clinging to her curves as she tied it loosely at her waist.
She walked slowly toward the window, her steps silent, and gazed up at the night sky.
...
Years ago.
"Huff... huff..."
Shit, shit, shit!
The executioner is here!
She kept running, her heart pounding as she used her power to summon countless magical beasts to slow down the chaser.
"Zeyrinda~ Where do you think you’re going~?"
She glanced over her shoulder and saw the dragon girl effortlessly slashing through the magical beasts she had summoned, each swing of her blade cutting through them like paper. Behind her, the beautiful woman walked gracefully, her steps unhurried, her expression calm and serene.
"Please... forgive me, Francesca!!!"
"No, no~" Francesca’s voice was calm, almost playful, as she walked gracefully through the chaos. She raised a single finger, and the magical creatures around her crumbled into dust, their forms disintegrating into nothingness.
"You have already committed a grave sin, Zeyrinda. You, Maekaria, and Rafazelia dared to bring terrestrial beings into this world, disrupting the balance, causing chaos, and defying the natural order. You have meddled with forces beyond your understanding, and now you must face the consequences."
Eridith narrowed her glare at Zeyrinda, her voice cold and sharp.
"You should know your place, abyss spirit. You should address her as the Radiant One."
Zeyrinda gritted her jaw, her hands trembling as she tried to summon more magical beasts, pouring all her remaining power into the spell. But her strength was fading, and she stumbled, falling to her knees on the ground.
"Arara~" Francesca smiled sweetly, tapping her foot lightly on the ground. A small, radiant pulse of light rippled outward from where her foot touched the earth. With a single, gentle ping, every summoned magical beast in the vicinity vaporized into nothingness, as if they had never existed.
"Looks like someone dares to fight back after committing a wrong."
"It wasn’t me!" Zeyrinda’s voice cracked with desperation. "It was the other spirits! The lowly ones! They acted on their own!"
"Ara? Really?" Francesca smiled, gracefully tapping her chin with a finger as she gave Zeyrinda a sweet, side-long glance. "Then tell me... what about the Saints of the Three Gods? Who formed that organization? Who gave them power? Who instructed them to spread lies and manipulate the faithful? Was that also the work of ’lowly spirits’?" 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Francesca gracefully lowered herself, squatting down to Zeyrinda’s level with an elegant, fluid motion. She tilted her head, her smile sweet but terrifying, her eyes gleaming with a cold, divine light.
"Or is it also the work of ’lowly spirits’ that brought the terrestrials into this world, hmm?" She let out a soft, mocking exhale. "Because of that, Garius had to do all the work to seal them away, you know. Poor Garius~ Because of you and the other two, he, Mylezra, Lioness, Edmund, Gurdan, and Gumarak... ah, I almost forgot..."
Francesca’s eyes narrowed, her smile turning sharp. "Even the future Demon King, Veldrac, was busy chasing and sealing them all. Even though I know Garius could easily crush them, it was still a nuisance. So much unnecessary work."
"Please!" Zeyrinda knelt and begged, her voice trembling. "Give me another chance! I... I’ll fix everything! Please don’t kill me!"
"No." Francesca stood up gracefully, crossing her arms as she glared down at Zeyrinda. "I was given this task by the highest authority. I am the executioner, and you are the condemned. The order is absolute. There is no room for negotiation, no second chances. You have broken the laws of this world, and now you must face the consequences."
Zeyrinda fell silent, her jaw clenched tightly as she braced herself.
Francesca raised her hand, her palm glowing with a radiant, divine light. She began reciting the rites of execution for spirits, her voice calm and melodic, yet carrying the weight of absolute authority. A massive, intricate magical circle materialized beneath Zeyrinda, its runes pulsing with golden light, binding her in place.
Just as Francesca was about to deliver the final judgment, a barrage of magical attacks rained down from above, dark fireballs, shadowy spears, and countless summoned beasts descending upon them.
"Zeyrinda! Run!"
Zeyrinda glanced up, raising her palm. In an instant, thick smoke erupted around her, and countless divine magical beasts materialized to confront Francesca, buying her precious seconds.
Francesca let out a long, weary exhale before flicking her finger. A blinding wave of pure light erupted from her, instantly vaporizing every divine beast that dared to charge at her. The smoke cleared, revealing an empty space where Zeyrinda had knelt.
Francesca stood gracefully, her expression calm, a faint smile playing on her lips as she watched the three abyss spirits flee into the darkness.
"You can run... but you cannot hide."
...
Back to the present.
Zeyrinda gritted her jaw, her eyes burning with cold, vengeful resolve.
Soon, Francesca. I will ensure that continent is crushed. I will ensure Armand is destroyed. With the special summoned heroes I have gathered, along with Maekaria’s and Rafazelia’s chosen Heroes, we will bring ruin to everything you hold dear.
I know you cannot fight the summoned heroes directly. The laws of this world bind you. You cannot harm or kill the summoned heroes from another world. They are beyond your reach. That is your weakness. And I will exploit it.
She glanced at Julius, who lay naked and sleeping peacefully on the bed, his body still marked with the traces of their earlier passion.
I have someone far stronger than Garius now. Someone with a talent and power you’ve never seen. A power that transcends even the divine. Not only that, I’ve slept with all my summoned heroes, binding them to me, ensuring they are infused with my essence, granting them power beyond any of your champions. And once we are ready...
Her lips curled into a cruel, triumphant smile.
We will crush every lowly life on that continent. We will leave no one standing.
Julius will defeat Garius. And then he will kill you. When that happens...
Her eyes glinted with dark, greedy ambition.
I will take your power for myself.
