Reborn As Noble
Chapter 1344: Glowing Kiss, Soft Light ( )
Javier’s body glowed with a soft, radiant light for a moment before fading back to normal. He narrowed his eyes, his expression thoughtful.
"Mother...?"
"Hmm? Yes, honey bun?" Francesca smiled innocently, her eyes meeting his with gentle gaze.
"Umm... nothing." Javier glanced at his body, which had just returned to its normal state, and shrugged, deciding not to question it further.
Francesca smiled softly. "Now, now~ I’m sure Liana is worried and looking for you. Just by the look on your face, you’ve probably made her and your other fiancées worry. You should go and be with them. Or perhaps spend some time with your brothers and siblings. I believe Marcellus and Cedric are not busy at the moment."
Javier nodded, a soft smile forming on his lips. "Thank you, Mother."
Francesca’s smile remained, but her eyes turned serious as she watched him stand.
"Remember, honey bun, do not make any moves or even think about using that ultimate weapon before everything begins. I’m warning you. You know what happens if you disobey me..."
Javier swallowed hard, averting her eyes with a sheepish grin as he mumbled, "Y-Yes, Mother..."
Francesca kept her gaze fixed on him, her voice firm but calm. "I won’t forgive you if you dare to use that weapon without my or your father’s permission. Not everyone is involved in this conflict, honey bun. Just because they are our enemies does not mean the innocent should be dragged into it and lose their lives."
"Understood, Esteemed Mother."
She continued to watch him, her expression serious. "Promise me you won’t use it."
Javier smiled softly, bowing his head respectfully. "I promise I won’t use those weapons without your permission."
Francesca nodded, her expression softening as she reached for her cup of tea. She lifted it gracefully, her gaze drifting toward the window.
"War, power, revenge... they are all part of this world. But we are not going to let them consume us. We will protect what is ours, but we will not become monsters in the process. We are not like them. We will not let this conflict swallow the innocent, nor will we become the monsters they expect us to be." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
She paused, her voice softening.
"That is what it means to be part of the Armand family. That is who you are, honey bun. Not a weapon of mass destruction, but a protector of those who cannot protect themselves."
Javier stood in respectful silence, the weight of her words settling in his heart.
"Yes, Mother."
Francesca smiled warmly, her voice gentle. "I don’t mind if you want to invent new weapons or upgrade your puppet knights, honey bun. As long as it’s not something that would harm the innocent along with the guilty. You have a brilliant mind, use it wisely."
Javier smiled, his expression sincere. "I know, Mother. Thank you for your advice. I’ll keep it in mind."
Francesca’s smile turned playful, her voice taking on a teasing tone. "Now, you should go. I can feel Liana waiting outside the room for you."
Javier let out a soft laugh, walking over to hug her. Francesca wrapped her arms around him, gently caressing his head as she murmured softly.
"Go now. Enjoy your free time, work on your inventions, spend time with your fiancées." She pulled back slightly, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Because soon, you’ll be very busy~"
Javier rolled his eyes before letting out a soft sigh. "I’m sure it’ll be within this week, Mother. Especially after Father said the civil war in the Human Nation has already broken out in the north. I’m sure it’s not just me, my brothers will be busy too. But I’ll probably be the busiest with annoying missions."
Francesca let out a soft laugh, standing gracefully and smoothing out her dress with practiced elegance.
Javier narrowed his eyes in confusion. "Where are you going, Esteem Mother?"
Francesca smiled sweetly, walking toward the door before pausing and glancing over her shoulder. "I’m going to find a certain someone who decided to tell you about the Abyss Spirits without consulting me first. I need to have a little ’talk’ with him."
Javier swallowed hard, averting his eyes as he watched the door close.
Crap... Father’s going to be in huge trouble.
But knowing him, I’m sure he’s already somewhere... far from the estate.
Javier shook his head, a faint smile on his lips, before walking slowly toward the door and opening it.
Outside, Liana stood gracefully near the wall, wearing her maid outfit. Her posture was calm, elegant, and poised as she waited for him.
"Young Master." She smiled softly, bowing gently before walking toward him. She reached up, adjusting his collar with delicate hands before meeting his eyes, her expression warm and relieved.
"I was worried yesterday when you seemed so lost in thought. But seeing your face now, calm and confident... I feel much better."
Javier smiled, looking into her emerald eyes, his voice soft and warm. "I’m fine, Liana. No need to worry about me that much."
Liana smiled softly, patting his clothes as she smoothed out the fabric. "How could I not worry? You are my future husband. It is my duty, my joy, to care for you."
Javier smirked, leaning closer to whisper in her ear. "You say that, but you’re still wearing your maid outfit even after we became officially engaged."
Liana glanced up at him, her emerald eyes shining with a teasing smile. She kept her hand resting on his collar, her touch light and tender. "Isn’t it because you wanted me to wear it?"
"Really? Did I?" Javier wiggled his eyebrows, giving her a playful, teasing look.
Liana smiled, her expression soft and shy. "You said you wanted to see me in my maid dress even after we became official. Do you... have a thing for me wearing a maid dress?"
"Who knows~" Javier murmured, his gaze lingering on her lips. He glanced around to ensure they were alone before leaning down, capturing her lips in a slow, passionate kiss.
Her lips were soft and full, perfectly shaped, and tasted faintly of honey and spring blossoms. He wrapped one arm around her waist, pulling her closer as he deepened the kiss, savoring the warmth and sweetness of her touch. Liana responded gently, her hands sliding up to rest on his shoulders, her body melting into his embrace. For a moment, the world faded away, leaving only the two of them lost in the tender, intimate moment.
