By the side, Abaris could hardly wait any longer. Seeing Huo Sining still standing blankly, he couldn’t help but urge, "Miss Huo, let’s go."

Huo Sining finally snapped back to reality, set aside the deep meanings behind those words, and quickly turned to follow the footsteps of those two men, briskly walking towards the market exit.

However, they hadn’t walked far back before Huo Sining keenly sensed several gazes from both sides of the marketplaces. Those sharp eyes cut through her and Gu Xu like knives, and soon someone was slowly approaching them.

Not only Huo Sining noticed this, but Gu Xu also observed it. As a scout, his ability to analyze and assess danger was undoubtedly beyond Huo Sining’s, seeing those people clearing the bustling tourists to walk straight toward them, Gu Xu instantly realized something was amiss.

"Move quickly!" Gu Xu tugged Huo Sining and Abaris along, ordering in a low voice.

It was clear these people were looking for them. With his and Huo Sining’s distinctive skin and facial features, they stood out sharply in a marketplace full of Mexicans. These people coming for them meant they had discovered something.

Though he was already careful when retrieving that cell phone, seeing the current situation, Gu Xu realized it seemed their finding the phone in that pile of construction debris had been noticed.

Given Gu Xu’s skills, he could be quite certain there was no one watching around that dead-end at the time, but he couldn’t guarantee someone wasn’t using high-tech equipment to remotely monitor the building’s perimeter.

At least, given the current circumstances, the possibility seemed high.

Gu Xu couldn’t be sure whether Ouyang Jun had been captured by those people, but one thing was certain: this group had an extraordinary obsession with the phone they had. This meant its contents were of utmost importance, important enough that even after Ouyang Jun’s disappearance, these Mexicans monitored the dead-end unrelentingly, worried an associate of Ouyang Jun might come to retrieve something significant.

Now they, unknowingly, ran over here straight to the dead-end. This matter couldn’t be concealed at all. Even if they disguised themselves perfectly, any outsider would immediately see they were part of Ouyang Jun’s group.

It seemed they had been monitored from the moment they entered this Tepito Marketplace.

Seeing several individuals breaking through the market crowd and swiftly tailing them, Gu Xu couldn’t help cursing under his breath, "Damn," now disregarding the guide Abaris, he grabbed his wife’s hand and dashed forward recklessly.

While squeezing through the crowd ahead, Gu Xu was also rapidly strategizing in his mind.

Now with Ouyang Jun’s fate uncertain, if he was already caught by those people, the phone they fished out would be the only bargaining chip to get Ouyang Jun out of the drug lord’s den alive, meaning they absolutely couldn’t let themselves be captured by those people now.

Gu Xu’s mind raced as he urgently navigated through the crowd with Huo Sining, but what worried him was the few people behind seemed to lock onto them unfailingly like maggots on bones.

As if that wasn’t enough, on their way trying to dodge those tails, additional stalkers joined in, turning from three people initially to five, and finally into a dozen.

Most of these individuals appeared to be Mexican thugs, tall and muscular, seemingly overwhelmingly strong. Though inconspicuous while previously blended into the market, they now surged towards them, looking somewhat intimidating.

Seeing those pursuers drawing increasingly closer, Gu Xu now couldn’t care about anything else, pulling Huo Sining along as they dashed toward the street corner.

Reaching the street corner and seeing several uniformed police officers stationed where they came in before, Gu Xu finally breathed a sigh of relief.

With police present, those thugs likely wouldn’t dare act recklessly. Gu Xu thought this to himself.

However, at this point, those few officers also seemed to notice Huo Sining and Gu Xu, raising their heads with walkie-talkies and electric batons in hand, pointing at the couple and talking into their walkie-talkies.

Seeing this situation, Huo Sining suddenly recalled that inexplicable woman they encountered in the alley previously, who uttered those awkward words among which one told them to beware of the police.

Huo Sining’s heart skipped a beat, realizing things might not develop as they expected, instinctively looking up at Gu Xu: "Wait, something might be wrong with those police officers!" 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Gu Xu froze, but before he could react, those officers at the street corner started walking toward them with rather strange expressions on their faces.

"Run!" Huo Sining suddenly pulled Gu Xu, running into a side alley, then turned a corner into another narrow lane, taking advantage of building cover, and dashed into a public restroom built with plank shacks.

The police and thugs quickly mingled together. Upon discovering Huo Sining and Gu Xu had dashed into the alley, they immediately pursued and surrounded the public restroom.

However, after tearing through the restroom, these thugs and officers couldn’t find their target inside, the two living humans having vanished as if into thin air.

"Damn it! What’s going on, where did those two go?!"

"We clearly saw them go into this restroom, where did they disappear to?"

"Could they have run into another alley?"

"We absolutely can’t let them escape, they’ve got something we need to get our hands on!"

"What are you dawdling for, chase them down!"

The officers and thugs were in utter chaos in front of the restroom, especially the officers who were frantically angry, wishing they could dig three feet down.

After searching around the alley again to no avail, they were like headless flies, reentering the market to mindlessly search again.

The officers also vanished, but Huo Sining noticed they were still keeping an eye on this alley, seemingly wanting to figure something out from it.

The fact was, these thugs indeed colluded with the police!

Huo Sining couldn’t help but smirk. If it weren’t for her decisive action earlier, pulling Gu Xu to run into the restroom and casting the Invisibility Spell, tucking Gu Xu into Space at the same time, no doubt they would have been caught by now.
