Chapter 1239: King Zion

Michael saw a strange scene. At the side of the very skyscraper that had been destroyed, the very same one he had reversed into normal, had a red dragon sticking out on its side.

In any other scenario, he would have thought that they were being ransacked by the Draconians.

However, he recognized that Dragon. And that nasally, high-pitched, pre-pubescent voice. It was none other than Zion, the youngest of the Dragonborns.

And atop the skyscraper itself, he saw a woman. A blonde-haired girl who looked to be too similar to someone he knew to mistake them.

That was... Kuno.

Kuno, the Original Vampire. Their Progenitor. And from the looks of it, it seemed that she was dangling by the side of the skyscraper, about to be devoured by the young Dragonborn.

He didn’t know what to make of it all. Had everyone gone insane?

"CUT!"

His thoughts were interrupted by a loud speaker voice from the bottom of the busy thoroughfare. He looked down, only to see a group of Rebornians, all looking at the scene he apparently caused with disappointment in their faces.

They... had cameras on them. Real, professional ones, that ones that had tripods supporting them.

And those cameras were pointed at the very climax of action, where the blonde woman was supposed to fall and get caught by the Dragon.

"Let’s take it from the top!"

Michael focused his gaze on the person shouting those commands. A Blue Mankey Rebornian, with a speaker held near his mouth.

He recognized this man. As he might recall, the Blue Mankey was named Hamlin, and he was an A-class talent.

[Talent: Theater Maker], ChatJK6 reminded him.

Theater...

And then, it all started to make sense.

"Zion, I would like more emotion from you!" shouted Hamlin. "You’re supposed to be anxious. Your lover is dangling from the top of the tower. You want to save her. However, there are police officers trying to shoot you down. You should be conflicted in trying to protect yourself, in destroying those pesky cops, and saving your romantic partner!"

The Dragon looked down with a determined look on his face. "Yes, director!"

"And Miss Kuno!" Hamlin called out.

The Vampire Progenitor looked down from the peak of the skyscraper and tilted her head. Her blonde hair shimmered under the light of the sun. It gathered some oohs and aahs from her fans gathered by the side of the shooting area.

"You’re doing great, honey! Keep it up!"

Hamlin, done with his directions, sat up from his director seat and walked towards Michael.

As he did, multiple people, probably assistants, came towards him and talked about some of the scenes they were going to shoot later today. Hamlin gave them some brief directions before turning them away. He took a cup of coffee as he faced Michael.

"Boss Michael!" Hamlin greeted.

Michael stared at this Blue Mankey in complete disbelief. The last time he saw him, the demi-human could barely even complete his sentences before stuttering. It seemed that after Michael awakened him, he also inadvertently awakened his confidence.

"Uhhh... what is this?"

"Oh, this?" Hamlin said, feigning humility. "This is just a little movie we’re trying to make. Born from my own creativity, it is. Thankfully, I have talented people making my imagination come to life. Hey, can you please put the light a little bit more to the right? Thank you!"

This truly did look like it was a scene straight from his previous world. The only difference was that there were demi-humans taking charge of the shooting instead of humans.

"You didn’t really answer my question," Michael said.

"Oh. The name of our movie is called King Zion! It’s a story about a misunderstood dragon who was forced to enter into civilization, and wants to go back to his territory. But in the middle of this, he finds love with a human from the city—"

Michael raised his hand to stop Hamlin from continuing on. That story looked completely similar to a famous franchise back in his previous world.

"No, I mean, why are you destroying a building?"

Hamlin looked a little bit flustered. "I thought... I thought you knew, Boss Michael. We had permission to close down the entire block of the Nation to shoot this movie."

"From who?"

"From our star lead himself, Zion!"

Michael shook his head. Of course. Why didn’t he think otherwise?

"Don’t worry, boss. We made sure that everything was contained in the scene. No casualties, no injuries. We have Maugnetics on standby to make sure nothing bad happens.

Although, if I may be so bold, I would like to say that you were a little bit too early in your reconstruction of the building. The script says that the skyscraper would fall into rubble first, and then, the Dragon would emerge from it with his female lead on his back, safe and sound. Then, they ride off into the sunset."

At this point, Michael couldn’t help but shake his head. As it turned out, he didn’t save the building from getting destroyed. He just made a mistake in the shooting.

"It’s gonna look so good boss. I guarantee it. Once we project this onto the screens, everyone is going to love it!" said Hamlin.

And in the end, Michael decided to let them do whatever they wanted.

He preferred them not destroying Nation property, but it looked like they had construction worker Maugnetics on standby to reconstruct the building right after shooting.

Hamlin was a good director. He had everything under control, including Zion, who was currently reciting his lines off to the side. This was perhaps the most impressive thing he’d seen.

And he was right. During times like these, it was important for people to still have something to enjoy.

Entertainment helped unite people. And now with electricity prevalent in their allied territories, even they would be able to watch the movies and shows produced here in the Nation.

"Oh boss! You want to appear in the sequel? I already have one cooking up—"

Michael disappeared.
